In case of Gtran, u have to buy original accessories. Duplicate accessories are not available. Reason being that till date reliance has sold about 10,000 GTran handsets whereas number of lg handsets sold is much larger than this. Therefore ASC has to be your final decision. If you visit ASC pls do enquire about Car Charger and do let me know it’s price.

Even in Punjab BSNL is best and cheap. in last years i never felt a need to contact their customer care which toll free. but in case of Reliance every second day i am required to complain to *333, WW, CEO office. GOD save from RIM.

I have also experienced same. It happens when phone has been kept switched on for longer periods. Restart the phone it helps. You trusted Reliance so you have to bear these bugs. When you opt for RIM with a handset of higher cost you get handset bugs as a reward. Only way to get this solved is upgrade to new handset with new bugs or opt out of RIM.

Tanveer, I think you, me and others have suffered and are suffering enough by upgrading the handsets with RIM. So it will be better to opt for some other service provider where we can choose and change handset according to our wish. By upgrading GTran I learnt a lesson not to trust reliance. Their handsets have got bugs, serious bugs which can’t be ignored. If you really want to upgrade then opt for Blackberry under Airtel.

My motive to start this sub forum is to help all to decide why RIM? Please post your views below. Advantages with Remarks: 1. Tariffs Reliance claims of lowest tariffs but its not so. All the competitors come with equivalent tariffs with a day difference. DAPO of course get free SMS but they can’t send SMS to all operators. 2. Rworld: Rworld is one of the most distinguished services provided by Reliance but it has got nothing much interesting. RIM feels that it is doing a great favor by providing it free. But no operator charges for services similar to unbilled info, Bill, Help about RIM. No good ring tones. Hutch has started Hutch world with video clips and if FDI in telecom is increased they will provide much better service than Rworld. 3. Handsets Many of the RIM handsets have found to have major bugs. E.g. GTran has got SMS bug and various other bugs which have been discussed in GTran sub forum. Even LG 7230 has got bugs which have been highlighted by a member recently. Other users of same handset also agreed for that. I don’t know why some people don’t like to discuss bugs in handset which they own. Just a month ago these handsets were being sold for Rs 12000/- and Rs 20000/- respectively. Those who choose these handsets got the bugs free. 4. Handset up gradation You can’t change the handset at your choice. You can upgrade only when RIM provides you opportunity. They bring schemes for upgrades that too with tricks. Recently there was scheme named ‘Color Hungama’. Post paid customer reward. But actually it proved to be a post paid customer punishment. In scheme there was opportunity to upgrade handset without paying any deprecation charges. I will explain this with example. I purchased LG 2030 under 3350 scheme. I was required to pay Rs 8651/- to upgrade to GTran 4020. Thus total 12001/-. But after 1 month the price of same handset has been reduced to 5999/- resulting in deprecation cost of Rs 6002/-. Similarly others who upgraded suffered a loss of 50%. If I would have opted for new connection I would have saved 2651/- but at the cost of change in number. Due to this reasons I feel it advantageous to go with some other operator. What do you think?

yes i agree prices of handsets fall even in GSM but u get max of your old handset while Reliance gives minimum. further the new handsets are buggy. thus they work only with LG 2030 or N191. poor nalayak reliance. some please teach them to upgrade there technology from time to time. the decrease in price is not the problem. The thing that troubles the most is that you pay more to get handset with bugs. In GSM as the cost you pay increases the quality of handset increases whereas with Reliance things are reverse. As the cost increases the quality decreases, number of bugs increases. They are actually fit for providing services only on LG Rd 2030 and N191. Higher price handsets are not fit for their services.

don't purchase any handset of RIM unless u see a working demo. even don't believe anybody. otherwise u will suffer like me. i am suffering a lot after purchasing Gtran with very poor rworld, poor battery response, very poor sms display.

Today an executive of Reliance said we trying to upgrade the technology. I don’t know when these people will get this new technology implemented. Were they sleeping when they launched GTran handset?

I don’t think just reduction in access charges is going to help Reliance much. Reliance has got a customer only in RIM. In FWP/ FWT base is very small. In RIM u hv to pay 200 as subscription charges per month. Whereas in Sancharnet and VSNL u get a pre paid package with night access from 11 to 8 free. In other option u pay Re 1 / min. I think it is useful only for rare users. Prepaid customers can enjoy free Rconnect maximum. For users like me, who use internet daily BSNL with Sancharnet is the best.

GTRAN i am sorry if you are not Rep of GTRAN. actually i thought so bcz i got an email from a person who is head of GTRAN after sales and is member of RIM WEB. therefore not seeing you over here made me to make such remarks. further u never mentioned anything abt SMS bug. And further to correct you without any personal remarks I will like to intimate you that GTran operates in INDIA under the offices named UCOM TECHNOLOGIES. In my city they don’t hv ASC but UCOM office is present and they do hire MBA for marketing their products.

Some people assume BSNL as poor performer bcz of word govt. associated with it. But for internet it is not so. To get me connected it takes just 10 Secs. It connects about 52 Kbps. I am using this from last 2 yrs and quiet satisfied with it. In b/w I opted for RCONNECT but it proves costly especially with 200 subscription charges. BSNL quiet cheap when you opt for Sancharnet connection (prepaid internet package) with night access from 11 to 6 AM free. Last year they even gifted me 50 hrs. For usage BSNL is fine but when you have to download a lot of data then you should prefer RCONNECT but for daily use Email, reading posts and other such jobs BSNL is quiet economical.

acc to me rworld on GTRAN is almost useless when u compare it with that on 2030. GTRAN also has a battery problem for mobile users

there are still many applications which r not available. like MMS, Railway reservation, in guides we hv 6 options while others have 10 options, you are unable to save ringtones etc.

Yes a new LG handset worth Rs 20,000/- is ready for launch in next 2 days. Acc to me 7230 is best option. new as well as samsung do not have full support to rworld. moreover 7230 has already been tested by many. can u pls tell me procedure to upgrade. Can anyone tell me the contents of the 7230 package? I mean to ask number of batteries and other accessories in the package like travel charger desktop charger data cable etc. I have suffering a lot by purchasing GTran therefore before opting to LG 7230 I want to get all my doubts clear. Pls intimate me any bugs in handset. Please.

Problem of ring tones is again here. Whenever I try to save ring tones it gives error RWORLD not ready. It’s now almost a month that MMS is not available. It’s again the time to get red hot with chairman office. Otherwise they will never try to resolve these issues. Send your earlier emails again to CEO office. I think our complaints act as a tonic for Reliance to run its RWORLD services properly. Send emails to CEO but don’t forget to post the replies you receive as email or as a phone call.
