Friend, Airtel won't allow MNP to come near you... It is better to change your connection to Prepaid, if you are now in postpaid... Another idea is using DualSIM mobile with RGsm/other new operator and Airtel, receiving incoming calls from Airtel and informing your new other operator number to your callers.. Further you can pay cheaper for outgoing calls than Airtel... Even if you are in non-coverage area of new operator, you can use your Airtel for calling

Especially those people WHO DON'T KNOW/CARE about the VALUE OF MONEY (Am NOT saying Value for money) like wife/fiancee or grandson of zillionares, for whom money means something that grow from trees.. Also some people who exploits people's blood like International Smugglers, Politicians, etc.. Some people who got fame/money too easily by luck also buy these gadgets, say some over-night stars, etc.. Some spoiled guys/girls who think themselves as superior to others buy these exclusive items for SHOWING OFF... But VERY VERY rarely (one in a trillion or two) some honest business people may buy these as collective items, may be..

The problem facing by RGsm and DoCoMo is due to 1800MHz allotted to them (discussed so many times here in rimweb) and so the in-building coverage will be bad and hence the handset eats battery power while searching network indoors..

I don't think these telcos will neglect C circles.. But still C circles will get low bid, but NOT no bid.. What I am guessing now is Airtel has huge money to get pan-India 3G license , which sure is a BAD NEWS for all of us here and Vodafone/Docomo too in most A and B circles ... But from the above news, I guess RCom has found some ways to get money for 3G auctions for A & B circles as third bidder and C circles as second or first bidder(In C circles only RGsm/RTL has got 900MHz spectrum and huge userbase imho).. So RCom is here to rescue us from the National and International R0bbers I am now eagerly waiting for RCom's Simple 3G plans.. Even if say in some circles Docomo was 3rd bidder (RGsm lost) and in some circles RGsm is 3rd bidder (Docomo lost) they can have mutual agreement to use each other's 3G network with NO difference in voice charges and SMALL difference in Data charges (which sure will be much smaller than Airtel's data charges ) imho..

Sir Ji, 2500 minutes are NOT small for everyone except LOVE BIRDS of-course..... It is almost 42 hours and cost works out to 2.14p/min (after deducting the STax... This is small imho, when competition is offering calls to CC guys @ 50p/3min--->16.7p/min Further there is also a possible workaround.. If the 2500 FREE minutes got exhausted, just Recharge again for Rs59/- and get another 2500 FREE night minutes... Which means 5000 FREE night minutes for Rs118/month..

Thank GOD... Very happy to hear that, our Rcom is safe even in this drastic competition... The power of RCom imho is the on-net pack, which will bring nice margins for them.. I somehow almost discarded my BSNL post for RGsm as secondary number (Indicom is primary)... Also very happy to hear they are serious about 3G auction.. Hope RGsm will be one among the 3 PAN India 3G operators... But what worries me a lot is the present condition of 2G network of RGsm.. Even today I faced a lot of problems by today morning 11am, when trying to call my friend on Aircel number.. (FYI Rgsm tower is just 20m away from my home)...

Why BSNL needs time upto September to bring OMH RUIM cards to market??? Even new comer MTS can bring it within 10 to 15 days time... May be starting a contract.. getting commisi0n and then bringing to market needs so much time..

I have seen some ads regarding Wi5 on the adv.board located @ back of the Bus in Sivakasi and Madurai few weeks back... Even I enquired in Sivakasi and didn't got any info.. Now I searched this forum and bumping this almost an year old thread.. Any friends have info or experience on this service.. Tariff seems too good and lack of interest in this thread seems confusing... Their website is here!

Good to hear this news.. But 25 more OPEN CDMA 3G or SMARTPHONEs in this year (may be a dozen by Spice or Micromax the different coloured chinese $hit phones possible) seems unbelievable... But I welcome with Full heart, if it was made possible.. Further this whole year is NOT ENOUGH to educate even the CC guys what is OMH RUIM and OMH handset ... It depends FULLY on CDMA operators to sacrifice their profit on handsets and allow the success of OMH handsets.. But what to do, even CDMA biggies (RCom, Tata, BSNL) are likely to promote their GSM counterpart much more than their CDMA operations...
