  1. After Mnp What Is Your Move?

No MNP is not coming by Jan1 2010.. It may or may-not come by Apr2010.. Biggies are responsible for that possibly.. But in the mean time, the new operators will improve their network quality to FULL possible form and @ that time even the biggies' cry of "QUALITY NETWORK" will won't work
  2. The only known benefit of Postpaid connection is the CUG, apart from that Prepaid is best.. But nowadays CUG-like lower on-net charges are also possible with some special recharges also.. Further in prepaid, if you recharge for huge amounts when FULL or Hyper Talk-time is given, you actually save that 10.3% service Tax and that too is a HUGE saving .. In postpaid, you can NEVER avoid the service tax...
  3. Dual Cdma Phones

Many people are waiting for that one.. There are some phones that can act as GSM+GSM/CDMA, but not GSM/CDMA + GSM/CDMA and that one will sell like hotcakes for sure, since we can use that in any possible combination (GG, GC, CG, CC).. But if available, they should have a HUGE battery since it is a known fact that CDMA drains battery faster than GSm...
  4. After Mnp What Is Your Move?

Ya... Thats exactly what I have done with my Airtel connection my friend... BUT THERE IS NO FULL TALK-TIME or HYPER TALK-TIME FOR AIRTEL PREPAID USERS (atleast here in TN) except the Rs180TT for Rs150 recharge, but that Rs180 has to be used within 25 days (that is the Rs180 will evaporate to Rs0 at 26th day) taking away the benefit of PREPAID... Airtel is the mostly greedy operator in INDIA currently imho...
  5. Is it true that the roaming on that plan is 50p/min for In/Out/STD also??? If so, a very nice plan...
  6. Airtel Launches Unlimited Sms In Delhi-ncr

Network quality of RGSM is expected for a new operator and is improving day by day... And FYI all my SMS sent on 25-Dec from my RGSM (@1p/SMS) was delivered... But my SMS sent from Airtel on 24-Dec NIGHT was not delivered... Any high grade network will get congestion if usage increases tremendously... Airtel allows FREE SMS on 24-Dec & not on 25-Dec, that is the reason... Further with abundant Spectrum in hand and not many heavy users(except corp customers) + fake activations, naturally Airtel's network will be good ... With low call charges and comparatively less spectrum in hand, Rcom network quality will be low.. But it will change when spectrum allocation policy changes.. Till then, the quality of Rcom network will not be best, but quite usable imho.. But only good customer care is not a good excuse for heavy tariffs and differential treatment for different circles.. Just look around and count how many Airtel/Voda customers are eagerly waiting for MNP and compare with that of RGSM/RCDMA users, you will get my point.. I am repeating that, condition of RGSM can be changed, but not the attitude of Airtel... Airtel in TN has stopped giving FULLTalkTime or hyperTT for its prepaid customers..
  7. Offering FREE on-net SMS for a new operator is nothing exciting, especially when it has few thousands or less customers in a circle Instead they can give FREE offnet SMS (at-least local SMS in home circle) upto 100 a day for that Rs2 they have been charging a day or that call mole$ting charges of Rs0.39 extra per call
  8. Airtel Launches Unlimited Sms In Delhi-ncr

    Reliance offer is always TOP... No difference in 1. roaming/Home circle usage 2. On-net/Off-net 3. Local/STD 4. Black Out days/Regular days 5. Postpaid/Prepaid 6. RGSM/RCDMA 7. Weekdays/Weekends 8. Day/Night 9. New Circle/Old Circle 10.Old Customer/New Customer Nation-wide Same tariff anytime, everywhere... Simple.. Isn't it...
  9. That is the UNINOR's way of doing business... Make the tariff as complicated as possible.. Really NOT GOOD FOR THEM, especially here in India, in todays condition of competition ... I saw some one commenting in telecomtalk website that (just a joke anyway) Uninor is going to implement square-root and gama functions in its tariff plan but on seeing the above tariff, Uninor have guts (or MAD ENOUGH) to do that too :rofl_200: That will be GREAT SAVING for someone calling gulf to talk for HALF-A-MINUTE And guess they will also gain a whooping 83p, if their call lasted for 1.5 minutes and DONT forget they have given Rs31 already for the pack :rofl_200: Sorry friends, I CANNOT control my sarcasm on UNINOR atleast... Apart from that, BSNL is also offering PerSecondISD in its Postpaid plan225... And regular BSNL landlines go with Rs1 pulse, that also means Rs1/6sec if ISD is Rs10/min...
  10. Gave Up Reliance Communication For MTS

Well good for consumers at first.. But when its business affects the business of the operator giving backbone connectivity say 'X', then X can do some mischievous things (instead of reducing its tariffs to MTS level) to disturb MTS operation and the finally customers will be affected.. It is always possible... So it is better to be on the n/w operator with own NLD backbone network...
  11. I have upto 20 handsets, but none are in working condition ...
  12. How to check Account Balance?

I think dialling *367*1# show the promo balance and the DTT or the bal amount of FULL TT recharge to be used just for Local calls and its validity (usually 7 days from recharge) also... It is working for me for my RGSM PPC plan...
  13. After Mnp What Is Your Move?

Instead of waiting for MNP(which will come after 6 months or more), a simple idea is changing from Postpaid to Prepaid (as people who would like to retain their numbers are mostly postpaid users) with the current service provider... Because, nowadays almost ALL operators are showering offers on Prepaid only.. The only known benefit of Postpaid is CUG and that too can be adjusted by the special recharge packs from 20Rs to Rs50 for almost all prepaid plans ... This is the exact thing, I have done to my mom's Airtel number... First they will never allow you easily, you may have to fight saying that you STD, SMS, offnet costs much more than prepaid and so on... Another plus point here is if you are a big/old customer, you may get nice retention goodies also .. THE BIGGIES WILL NEVER ALLOW MNP IN NEAR FUTURE... But we can shake them up a little by converting from postpaid to prepaid... And when MNP comes into effect, we can easily change operator than a postpaid customer...
  14. Tata Indicom Per Second Plan

You are right... No National SMS FREE in SMS packs of Prepaid TataIndicom...
  15. You are right... The GSM cos are trying their level best to retain their existing customers.. But these offers cant stop them after MNP.. I think thats the thing in mind of RCom, behind the unbelievable offers... One thing we have to note also is only RCom, not even docomo is offering SMS FREE/1p while roaming..
  16. I heard that they (Indicom) are going to reduce roaming rates for even the basic tariffs also... (Also 1p/sec roaming coming for 1p/sec upcoming plan)... I am talking about postpaid...
  17. Gave Up Reliance Communication For MTS

With the launch of new on-net packs on the way (link here), I think you are missing something Sachin.. Please be patient and do not throw away your RCDMA RUIM
  18. Nice idea.... But it seems Airtel is ready to offer ANYTHING EXCEPT CHEAP TARIFF benefits to consumers... :rofl_200: Their tariffs are highest in Industry and they have STOPPED giving Full Talk-Time offers nowadays (even for very higher recharges like Rs5000/- too).. DoCoMo even after offering 1p/2sec local (for small rent) + 1p/sec roaming, giving FULL & Hyper Talk-Time (Rs222 TT for recharge of Rs200) to consumers now and then...
  19. That is because of its 1p/2sec local call charges for a reasonable rent AND 1p/sec roaming also...
  20. I love the 1p/2sec local call scheme and I have voted for the same... But let me check out what-ever plans/connections I have now:- 1) 1p/2sec ---- YES, DoCoMo Prepaid with rs54/month + FullTalkTime recharges of Rs2500/- 2) uninor 29p, with call setup charges of 39p ---- NO, I dont like that call mole$ting charges $hit.. 3) Tata indicom 3 pe 3free, with 1p/sec ---- YES, For long duration calls 4) 50p/min or bsnl's 49p/min ---- YES, My dad's postpaid BSNL with 15sec pulse incl. roaming 5) Rs1/3min ---- YES, RGSM PPC, for Long duration STD calls while roaming ;-) 6) docomo, aircel 1p/sec ---- YES, my BSNL postpaid 225plan 7) airtel, vodafone, idea's 1p/sec+1.2p/sec ---- YES, both Airtel & Vodafone 8, tata's indicom's Rs1/10min ---- YES, for ridiculously LONG OFF-NET calls (while NOT roaming) 9) Virgin's 50p/min ---- NO, Because NO NEED for it.. 10) Default Rs1-local+ Rs1.5-STD ---- YES, My wife's Jodi Postpaid BSNL plan... Of all the above, I prefer 1p/2sec local calls... hope someone will bring that benefit even in roaming too within a month ot two
  21. Tata-tata @ 1paise Per 6 Sec

WOW... This is the real On-Net offer ... Hardly anyone can beat it .. Yeah, the price war is going too fast, than I expected...
  22. Docomo Offers Per Second Isd Calls

Yes, Per second for ISD calls only and for International Roaming details incl. tariff see here
  23. Airtel holds 167.5MHz for Pan India GSM only and Reliance holds 200.5MHz for Pan India CDMA+GSM services... Difference 33.5MHz only for covering India with GSM AND CDMA services...
  24. Docomo Offers Per Second Isd Calls

Are you sure??? It may be national roaming or International calls (ISD @ 1sec pulse, BSNL is also offering in 225Plan) or International Roaming on Docomo network in Japan??? Why I am asking is Docomo is offering this 1sec pulse roaming in India in its own network only and in other networks (like Idea) it offers just default Rs1/1/1/1.5 per minute roaming charges.. So how come International roaming can be given in per second pulse?
