TN, Karnataka, Kerala and Rajasthan are last to shut down CDMA services say after 3 months from now. So enjoy Rcdma for 3 months...Reason is there is no auction specified price for liberalisation of spectrum in those circles. But since now trai found out a solution for this issue, dot allowed liberalisation of CDMA spectrum of those circles recently. sent from my Lenovo Vibe P1 using Tapatalk

List of 4G Handsets that works for India - Band 3 & 40 (1800 Mhz & 2300 Mhz)

Since Indian Moto G3 supports volte already, I think Moto x play as well as style both support volte as well.sent from my Lenovo Vibe P1 using Tapatalk -
Can you please share the link for the repeater? Does it require front-haul or broadband connection? Have you tested it and working perfectly?I am looking for cheaper 1800MHz / 900MHz one. Thanks a lot ji.. sent from my Lenovo Vibe P1 using Tapatalk

Most imported phones from USA [except Verizon - not sure] supports band 5 or it's super band 26. Band 3 support will also be mostly available, especially in at&t or T-Mobile. But the problem starts with Indian 3G, especially on band 8 [900MHz], which they mostly miss for sure. Almost all imported phones miss band 40 support for sure, except iPhone and few Sammy ones, AFAIK. sent from my Lenovo Vibe P1 using Tapatalk -

It will connect to that just one LTE band and fallback to 2G / 3G when that 4G band nw coverage is not available.. For example, my Vibe P1 supports Band 3 and 40.. RJio has band 3, 40 and 5 nw. In some places, where only band 5 coverage is available, it can't latch onto 4G and may fallback to 3G / 2G of BSNL or RCom... Even Jio-Join app will be of no use in this situation... -

Smartphones that will work on Reliance 4G
KanagaDeepan replied to amitnsonu's topic in Reliance Mobile
It doesn't support volte by now, but may support after an update, hopefully the upcoming MM one. Battery life is awesome. It's the only phone that can live for 24 hours in Jio network. LYF water 1 needs to be charged 4 times a day and Moto G3 3 times a day.But with my Airtel 4G, the phone lasts 2.5 days. With Airtel and Bsnl, the phone lasts almost two days. sent from my Lenovo Vibe P1 using Tapatalk- 239 replies

Too many confusions.. First they said, Switch to RGsm, then said upgrade to 4G (without switching) and now Switch to MTS...

Reliance Jio - Pan India 4G / LTE network
KanagaDeepan replied to Arun's topic in Reliance Jio 4G LTE (Prepaid & Postpaid)
More competition is always good for us, the customers. Airtel might not have started 4G services seriously, if Jio is not there. With almost equal powered opponent and late entry, Jio has to give services to us for cheap. It's a win-win situation for us, IMHO... sent from my Lenovo Vibe P1 using Tapatalk -

Because their market share was shrinking last year and to boost that they have brought mi5 and RN3 to India. But still they have launched inferior most SKU in both cases [32GB RN3 versions are very very very limited quantities for eye wash]sent from my Lenovo Vibe P1 using Tapatalk -

But since it is Xiaomi, there is a better chance that unsold old model may be dumped to India.. -

KanagaDeepan replied to dkaile's topic in Other handsets
There exists a way to tell Xiaomi that, we want 32GB version only.. Once you miss the 32GB version in a fraction of second, then add all the 3 colour variant of 16GB RN3 and DO NOT buy it.. Let it leave the cart till the time expires.. By this way, we can give message to Xiaomi that, we will NOT buy 16GB version till you bring us the 32GB variant in req quantities... But I am NOT sure, how many people will go with this idea.. Flash sale is HUNGER marketing and let us all convey clear message to them using their own flash sale drawback.. -
But TATA's telecom arm doesn't have that much money, afaik...

I lost my hope on RCdma, when they stopped MEID registration... Yes.. In fact almost all 4G phones sold in India supports Band 3 [1800MHz], incl the age old Nexus 5.. Band 3 is the most used spectrum for 4G services, in the world... -

Wow. So it supports band 5 [850MHz] 4G too. Gsmarena is wrong as usual wrt lte bands. It supports almost all lte bands in India [except band 28, upcoming 700MHz]. But jio and many others are not going for that band 28 and so this phone is suited for jio service as it already supports volte too. DK ji, which website shows the band support? I want to know for MI5.. But I think this phone is not good for CDMA, as meid is 0 and looks like MI has purposefully done that and may disable CDMA support in future via update. Remember the imei 0 issue in old cheap Chinese phones, which was forced to stop working after terror attack? But it's an excellent 4G lte phone for sure. sent from my Lenovo Vibe P1 using Tapatalk -
Whether this phone supports band 5 [850MHz] 4G ? Gsmarena says it doesn't. But it has volte support, which is very much important, IMHO... sent from my Lenovo Vibe P1 using Tapatalk

But TATA themselves don't give a sh!t about their CDMA business.. It took almost four+ weeks for them to give me a replacement CDMA sim (normal size) for my postpaid connection.. They discourage people to take CDMA connection and they don't have ANY CDMA phone just to check the CDMA SIM is working or not -- even in their main company owned showroom, in a big city like Madurai.. Forget about other showrooms in small towns.. It is better for RCdma customers to port out to even pathetic RGsm than using Tata's CDMA network, imho.. The reason why Tata's CDMA network is good NOW, is that they have very very negligible number of customers using the superior CDMA network.. But it can NEVER handle additional load of RCom's CDMA customers and surely there will be degradation of services, at least for RCdma customers.. Simply put, Tata has 2.5MHz of spectrum in most circles except Metros and RCom has minimum 5MHz of spectrum (except Rajasthan with 3.75MHz). Now how will the 2.5MHz of Tata can handle the load currently catered by 7.5MHz (Tata+RCdma) ?? May be, that is why they are moving their most CDMA customers to their GSM network???

Depends on circle to circle. In TN, Rajasthan, Kerala and Karnataka, Rcom didn't get their spectrum liberalized, due to unavailability of the market price in those circles. So those circles are surely safe for now.Sent from my LS-5002 using Tapatalk

Even if they are going to close CDMA in those five circles only, then it will affect CDMA users of other circles like say, they lose pan India roaming, etc.. Roaming used to be a huge plus point and cheaper in Rcdma. sent from my Lenovo Vibe P1 using Tapatalk
