The problem with Xiaomi mi3 is buggy software. Further the free RAM after boot with no apps installed is 272 MB only. Whereas in my droid maxx is 900 MB, even though I have installed 100+ apps in my phone. Just compared with my friends phone yesterday. So miui is worse than touchwiz as a skin, IMHO. Plus point is it's root ready, but since they didn't release kernel source code, options for custom ROM is nil. Their developer ROM is as bad as nightlies. When you visit their forums, you can find that they didn't care about bug fixing much. But these limitations never affect average users, but not for android lovers / purists, IMHO Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk

So you are saying that they need to pay both CST and VAT? That's not at all needed IMHO. Octroi LBT is different IMHO. Vat is applicable in same state sale and in that case also CST is not needed to be paid. In eBay AFAIK, the bill + tax details are sellers responsibility. EBay is just a medium. I have no idea about CDMA ruim working in latest droid phone after 4.4.4 update. But wrt GSM, there is no single issue at all. After the update the phone network mode changes to global and all we have to do is change it back to LTE/GSM/UMTS only. No need for Verizon Sim or factory reset or even restarting after the update. It's confirmed to be working on my wife's droid mini phone, non rooted, locked boot loader, on Airtel network. Will try in my (rooted, unlocked boot loader) droid maxx, once I reach my home. Sir ji... If only roaming is the thing you need, then BSNL prepaid is one option.. Its 199 roaming plan has Unlimited Roaming Incoming FREE and calls are at 1.5p/sec home and roam... 3G packs will also be working in TN... -

So, GApps are also coming with Mi3... So the last reason to not buy this phone (for General Public) becomes invalid now... Further flashing custom recovery and rooting is straight forward, afaik as its coming with unlockable BL. Even heard that Mi3 in some markets is coming with root ready... Second important thing to do after buying this phone is use Nova Launcher to escape the uselessly flashy UI... But the MAIN PROBLEM will be that, the phone will be available for sale for few seconds only and buying the same will be like a jackpot... -

From my experience, almost all US cdma world phones, especially from Verizon shows less bars in 3G (GSM) signals. Even -61dBm 3G signal (2100MHz) has 1 bar less, whereas in 2G full bars (1800MHz) are shown even for -72dBm. Then I have started using NetworkSignal widget on home screen, which on tapping shows signal strength and type accurately. May be US cdma operators want to exaggerate the spotty 3G coverage of GSM and that makes business sense. -

Obviously Reliance has played this dirty game of NOT entering auction directly, so that its competitors will not give a fierce fight and increase auction price of that relatively unfamiliar spectrum.. But why reporting this near the service lauch (as bluffed by RJio)?? May be [1] RJio will get more time for launching its 4G Lte service, reason time wasted in legal battle.. [3] RJio not interested in 2.3GHz Lte launch and keen in upcoming liberated 700MHz auction and want to get the money back, it paid for PAN INDIA BWA spectrum..
