  1. It looks like, YES. Not only that, you also have to signup for auto debit from bank account. It's really a deal breaker for me. May be MDA didn't forget and got the fear from initial RIM postpay non paying customer issues, some 15 years back. This is the reason, I am not going to move my Corp postpaid account to jio. Airtel infinity Corp plans are good enough now.
  2. Marginal increase in price will not affect both Jio or its customers, especially those who used Rs400 cashback offer. Let's hope other operators also increase tariffs and there will be improvement in network quality in coming days. U got this info from ultra dot news right? 1.2GB per day, offnet calls NOT free, what not.. Its news is as fake as facebook news. Their old name was RTN (reliable thou Nahi). I think right now, they have changed the whole news, without any Update or EDIT showing / accepting their mis-guessing.
  3. Rcom going to shutdown ??

ChoRCom with NO Customer care is just UNLIMITED HORRIBLE.
  4. Rcom going to shutdown ??

If you need to go NorthEast circle, then forget about Vodafone. Even Vodafone+Idea after merging will NOT have a good network in NE. Airtel is the undisputed King in NE circle, with 900MHz (total 8.8MHz spectrum) 2G as well as 3G. Further Airtel coverage will be good, if you use "3G Only" mode in Mumbai, as Airtel has 900MHz 3G (apart from 2100MHz 3G) in Mumbai as well. Further 850MHz and 1800MHz LIBERALIZED spectrum is coming from Tata, around April 2018. Though Airtel coverage is NOT good in Maharashtra, its not bad either. It has 5MHz of 1800MHz for 4G in their hands now. Another 5MHz is coming from Telenor and yet another 5MHz from Tata as well. Airtel retention team is giving UnLimited calls for Rs199 with no data. For Rs349, they are giving Unlimited calls + 11.1GB or more data, depends on how good you negotiate. So better use Jio as main number + Airtel with Rs199 plan as secondary number.
  5. idea 4g in Mumbai

Idea is king in Maharashtra, but joker in Mumbai.
  6. Rcom going to shutdown ??

If the Rcom mobile number is important, please port out to some other network. If it's just a tertiary number + not so important and has almost nil balance, then continue in rcom and enjoy the baaki picture.
  7. Yes, it's always better to do recharge when there is necessity in jio. No benefit for adding multiple recharges. Since you are getting cashback anyway, you can recharge imho. From my experience, if your current running plan is 399/84 days, you can do another 399 before 18th Oct to get 84 days per GB data as well as 400 cashback.
  8. Frankly NO IDEA. At least they have 10MHz of Band 3 (1800MHz) of liberalised spectrum in TN and they have huge base (but its getting reduced super fast due to no 4G till now). But they are NOT launching 4G there to stop their downfall in their leadership circle. May be Vitamin M deficiency is stopping them.
  9. Now this is very good. Airtel + Tata VS Idea + Vodafone VS Jio... Good to see competition between strong players with enough spectrum / capacity and it will be finally beneficial to consumers...
  10. Wow.. Confusing as usual.. I beg Mr. Ambani to NOT bring Rs399/84 days type plans again. Here network has become very unreliable, especially voice. Not only for Jio, even Airtel / Voda / BSNL and all others' network is like sh!t due to intense competition. Airtel also has brought stupid plans like 30GB + last month unused data for Rs649 and as expected now their network is also horrible. The default plan of Rs309 for 28 days is NOT bad, even Rs449 for 56 days is OK, but not worse than that please, pretty please... I am sure, I will be in minority here, but quality is important than quantity, in my humble opinion.
  11. Its clearly shown during recharge in myJio app that, this 84 days validity is just one time offer and actual validity is 28 days from second recharge. But since its Jio, we can't be sure about this as well.
  12. Rcom going to shutdown ??

Better to port out to other Operator from RCom, if that number is important for you. Actually ChoRCom is NOT closing the towers, the tower companies are closing them as ChoRCom has NOT paid them for a long period. Same for CC as well, which is handled by Tech-Mahindra due to payment over-dues. Link HERE. Actually ChoRCom needs to pay double the payments to CC services Cos, as ChoRCom eats customers' money and its these poor CC persons (from Tech Mahindra here) to get blames from Angry customers. But as usual ChoRCom has eaten their money as well. So the CC situation is NOT AT ALL going to change in near future. Next they are going to eat and blurb the Bank's money as well.
  13. Very good. I appreciate this move by Jio. Who needs more than 5 hours of FREE calls per day, except tele-marketers?
  14. Suggest 4G Smartphone

Yes, you are right. In A9 PRO after the Nougat update, there is NO "Keep" button showing up. Just "Change" and "Cancel" buttons are available. I wonder, even the change may be brought to C9 PRO in upcoming Nougat update. Man, I hate the Samsung SW sh!t.
  15. Suggest 4G Smartphone

Its possible to get Incoming calls on Jio, while Airtel Data is in use, at least in latest mid to high end Samsung phones, including A9 PRO. But the catch is, you can use only 3G of Airtel and NOT 4G. In SIM Card Manager, select "LTE/WCDMA/GSM" for Jio and "3G/2G auto" for Airtel. In Data section, select Airtel. When a prompt comes asking you to "CHANGE" the Airtel to "4G/3G/2G" or "KEEP" the existing setting. Select "KEEP" and you are good to go. Now Data will be from Airtel3G and receive incoming calls also from Jio. Airtel has better 3G coverage than 4G, so not a big issue, imho. Further, this will work for any SIM slot position. I mean, you can use jio or Airtel in any SIM slot, still this setting will work. Tested in my C9 PRO and S8. Enjoy.
  16. AIRCOM ?

You meant AirCel, right? I wonder what are the options available to them now, especially Aircel...
  17. Handset supporting carrier aggregation

Good.. In that case, it is better to also list those phones which definitely NOT supporting CA in real. This will help people to avoid such phones in future. Please edit your first post with RED ALERT practically non-CA phones as well. Thanks in advance...
  18. Handset supporting carrier aggregation

The list will be too big, imho.. Here is a Wikipedia link, showing 4G+ Handsets and level of CA supported...
  19. Suggest 4G Smartphone

Good find. But, that was first successful TESTING done by Qualcomm with Ericssion using a slightly modified S4 for testing purpose and that too on SRVCC to WCDMA / 3G only and not to 2G, afaik. Latest X9 LTE modems support SRVCC to 3G as well as 2G. SRVCC to 2G hand-over is very important in India, as 3G is handled in 2100MHz and 4G on 1800MHz (or lower) band - same as 2G. We are very much excited about VoLTE launch of Airtel. But Airtel is cautious in enabling VoLTE in very very few smartphone models only for now. But there is rumor that, they are going to launch VoLTE all over India (where there is 4G coverage on Band 3) by December 2017 end. Any Airtel VoLTE users in Mumbai, here? Please share your experience here. Thanks.
  20. SMS for eKYC verification

[1] Got 1st SMS, but NOT second. [2] I don't know, as I didn't get one. [3] Yes. See this link.. [4] Sure.
  21. Suggest 4G Smartphone

Yes.. Now it is very confusing, than earlier.. Further, even the pdf files of SD820 and SD821 doesn't specify SRVCC.
  22. Suggest 4G Smartphone

@LTE4G look at their Individual pages and SRVCC is missing there. For eg: SD821, SD820, SD810, SD808, SD652, SD650, SD617, SD430, SD425 or below. Reg the SRVCC supporting chipsets, here we have SD835, SD660, SD653, SD630, SD626, SD625, SD450, SD435, SD427. If you look at the comparison table, even X7, X6 and X5 LTE modem was shown as having SRVCC, which is NOT true. Even X10 modem used in SD810 and SD808 doesn't support SRVCC. All the SD processors using X9 LTE modem supports SRVCC without fail including SD427. The most confusing ones are the SD820/821 which uses X12 LTE Modem, but still don't support SRVCC, accoring to their individual support pages. Further the X9 Modem models are all released after SD821. May be Qualcomm has incorporated SRVCC in all high to mid level chipsets after SD821. But it is safe to go for smartphones with SD625 series or SD653 to have SRVCC for sure.
  23. Suggest 4G Smartphone

Right now I am using Galaxy C9 PRO and my wife is using A9 PRO. Both are very good. Jio has CA using Band 3 + Band 5 (1800MHz and 850MHz) in most places and in some recent sites its Band 3 + Band 40 (1800MHz & 2300MHz). A9 PRO supports them and I have experienced great speeds. Though Samsung doesn't show LTE-A or LTE+ in signal, we can confirm them via dialing *#0011# on native dialer. Right now I am using C9 pro, because it is having SRVCC facility, which is NOT available in A9 PRO. My main number is in Airtel. Airtel has started testing VoLTE. SRVCC allows calls to fall from VoLTE to 3G without DROPPING it, when we are on call while moving from 4G coverage to 3G or 2G coverage. Only SD625, 626, 630, 653 (used in C9 pro), 835 currently supports SRVCC (not sure about lower end ones). Even SD821 (used in OP3T and LG G6) or 652 (used in A9 PRO) doesn't support SRVCC. But A9 pro supports many LTE bands, including upcoming 700MHz one on Band 28 and 900MHz on Band 8, both are not supported in C9 PRO (at least not till now, may be enabled later via update). Further A9 PRO has better battery life (5000mAh vs 4000mAh of C9 pro) and very very cheaper now. Advantage of both phones is, you can use Airtel for DATA on 3G and still get incoming calls on JIO. It is great feature to use, where Jio data speed is too low, but you want to get calls on both numbers. This feature is supported in very few phones, mostly Samsung. Go for any of them, you will be happy, imho.
  24. TRAI lowers IUC

They have already challenged the earlier reduction of IUC to 14p (from 20p), which is already pending in the court. But they are bound to lose the case. AVoId guys are pure hypocrites. Airtel is giving Unlimited FREE calls on their LL connections where IUC was made zero for as little as Rs49 addon pack. Everyone knows that making a call from LandLine / WireLine to other network will cost more than wireless. So their crying for 30p is minimum expense for making a call on Wireless is A BIG FAT LIE. They have already recovered their 2G network expenses years ago and IUC reduction to ZERO was already a late decision by TRAI (according to Telecom Policy 2012). Actually TRAI has done more good to AVoId than Jio by reducing IUC. IUC reduction just reduces the FREE calls expenses for JIO, who will be still paying 6p per min for every offnet call. But for AVoId, its a good opportunity to match the Jio's Rs149 plan, which is NOT at all possible with 14p IUC charges. Let us all wait and see. I would love to see UL free calls on Rs199 by all players (mostly by BSNL and Airtel) in market after this IUC reduction.
  25. TRAI lowers IUC

Very good move. Now we can expect Unlimited plans for Rs199 onwards from almost all operators. Now most of my staffs are in that plan with just 800 minutes of free calls, excluding free cug.
