So again a Galaxy-POP with 2.3.3 and new name... Sorry, forgot to mention the still more inferior camera... Whether giving GB update to POP is much costlier than releasing a new phone??? No... The reason is, if they have given updates for FREE, the user may still use it and may NOT buy new phone for another year or atleast 6 months... Hmmm.... Why don't they atleast improve some features like in case of Corby-->POP, say like giving AF to that tiny 3MPx camera (for Goggles, Barcode reader), better capacity battery, etc...

May be applicable just in illegal 3G-ICRA circles only... If NOT, AirTel customers should thank AirCel...

Just got my BSNL WiMax connection in Sivakasi... Plan is HomeUnLimited Rs750 -- 512kbps UnLimited... Getting the said speed constantly...

Afaik Tata (G & C) and BSNL never charges for calling CC on home as well as while roaming... Don't know about others...

^^^^^^ As an ex-TataCDMA corporate customer, I request our friends NOT to expect miracle from TataCDMA... They now don't have quality staffs, too many conditions apply, switching off towers in some places, NOT showing interest in CDMA network growth, foreign handset issues (incl AKey) are like pain in wrong place... This is from my experience... Some plans are for 1x only even if specified as for EVDO and that too for wap browsing only and complicated apn settings (with proxy) and may NOT be used for tethering... Further TataCDMA is NOT taking care of the network and just closes the complaint of network congestion/call drops issues without taking a single useful step... All they are targetting is GSM only...

Ganesan Sir, afaik TataDocomo has coverage tie-up (intra circle roaming) with Aircel, but NOT sure about RGsm... On the way from Sivakasi to Virudhunagar, esp after amathur, the network switches from TD to Aircel (TD has zero coverage in this area)... It happens automatically.. But one day, the network was Aircel only even when I reached my home in Sivakasi and all calls were getting connected without any issue... I was using BB8830 at that time...

Honestly I was a little bit disappointed with sgs3 announcement (especially when u have refreshed gsmarena and phonearena sites every 15 mins for its announcement)... Looks (on front) are OK, but back side reminds me of old Nokia touch phones, yack... 4.8" is too big without a doubt, especially for persons who carry two phones like me... Reg PentileMatrix RGBG arrangement, it reduces the effective number of sub-pixels by one third... So a 720p resolution 4.8" pentile matrix screen with 306ppi is in real 204ppi, which is less than WVGA 4.3" RGB matrix of S-II (217ppi)... Further pentile matrix blurs the otherwise sharp looking images... It is ok for 4" screens or non-flagship phones like my epic, captivate glide, Razr, etc... Well, LG is going to bash this shortcoming in all its ads of upcoming phones (like TRUE-HD display)... For some S-III camera with the same MPx count of S2 may bother, but OK for me, if the quality is improved like in OneX... Thank god the battery in S3 is good... NO, I am NOT referring to 2100mAh capacity, which is still small for 4.8" HD display + quadCore phone comparing to 1800mAh battery (of Epic4GT) I am using in CapGlide with 4" WVGA + DualCore processor... But it is NOT fixed one like in 1x... And the same applies for microSD card slot... ------------------------------------------------------------ I am going to wait for RazrMAXX-HD or even RazrMAXX... I know, it is again pentileAMOLED, non-replaceable battery, dualCore, etc... But its 4.3" screen, 3300mAh, DualCore does its job well (plays and makes 1080p video + I don't play HD games) , imho...

CDMA operators have nicely killed the plus point/purpose of OMH RUIM... First RCom, then TataCdma and finally MTS too.... In real, only CDMA operators are killing CDMA technology for their GREEDINESS....

afaik, my Captivate Glide (and also all variants of S2) supports 64GB microSD-XC cards without an issue... Only thing is you have to first format it on your Android device and then you can use it on both phone and PC (using card-reader) and the file system used is extFAT.... Link to XDA is here.... And Vandhan ji, kindly provide the link for buying that card... Though I am using 32GB class10 one now, I will try it when my mood changes (at any moment ;p )....

^^^^^ Afaik, Tata is NOT at all serious in CDMA business... All they are trying to promote is their GSM business only... They are NOT at all providing OMH RUIMs for postpaid numbers... There is ZERO HCC card available all over TN... Eventhough all prepaid numbers are given in OMH RUIMs, even 1x (let alone EV-DO) won't work by default when used on Modem... I am sure there is NO need to say about their foreign handset policy and the quality (or lack of it) of their own locked handsets...

On reading the article, I think RIL will never launch 4G service in 2012 or even in early 2013...

While on EDGE/GPRS, when a call comes, data will be put on hold and NOT disconnected.... After disconnecting the call, the data resumes automatically...

Only 20% is the CDMA part of RCom is unbelievable or even impossible, due to the cr@ppy network of RGsm and RTL (in CG afaik)....

@theKing THe reason is by default Android doesn't support Ad-Hoc WiFi and the WiFi network created by Connectify (and for another example WiFi tethering by Symbian device using software like JoikuSpot) are AdHoc only... For this we have to make change in the file wpa_supplicant located in /system/bin by few commands on TerminalEmulator (I have no knowledge about that and our great Gurus may help in this) or just replacing the modified wpa_supplicant file... I have already provided the modified files for Samsung EPIC (and all Galaxy S [one and NOT II] series like fascinate, Intl Galaxy S, SL, old GalaxyTab7") and Photon in our forum and you can find them by searching... Please don't use those files for non-compatible models, else your phone's WiFi will stop working... And even for the compatible models, please take backup of original file before proceeding... OH, yes your phone must be rooted for this to work... Further in most custom ROMS like CM, this problem (as well as the Proxy setup) was eliminated first...
