That is NOT AT ALL going to happen... See the choice of handsets in their website... Either ridiculously low priced Rs750 to Rs900 Huwaei and other handsets or ridiculously higher priced outdated BB phones... RCom atleast has one android device (though also ridiculously priced).. Even there is a rumour that iPhone4 CDMA is coming to RCom... TATA don't have any feature-rich decently priced handsets in the range 8k to 18k...

Interesting... Now let us start a poll... In which way, RCom will m0lest this plan FIRST (all may happen, but which is first is question)??? 1. Increase STV cost from Rs17 to Rs71... 2. First Local RGSM, RCDMA, HELLO, PCO, 3G of a day --- each one @ regular charges... 3. Decrease the validity from 30 days to 2 days... 4. Removing the RCdma and HELLO from this benefit... 5. Completely change the tariff from 10p/min to 10p/sec... (In RGsm anything is possible) Well... Anyone forgot the dramas happened in 20p onnet STV??? For 10p onnet STV, logically they will har@ss twice, imho...

What RGSM is trying to improve the service :rofl_200: :rofl_200: Usage of some magic to give life to a dead person may become possible one day, but what you have said is MISSION IMPOSSIBLE.. RGsm is giving tough competition to BSNL in terms of (lack of) quality (network and services)...

May be they are using Aircel's revolutionary Rs98 UnLimited GPRS (NOT AT ALL EDGE) internet tethered for these WiFi services.... In that case even 3MB per hour is very very difficult to consume... Oh.. UnLimited browsing upto 30MB per hour.. NO-BODY (not even the AirHELL) has brought BAD-NAME for the word UnLimited as Aircel has done now...

OMG... Now RCom has got more choices of activating different VAS on users and increase their ARPU...

No Kamal bhai... Vodafone has auto-activated CRBT for my mom's number.. When complaining the CC cooly said "It is FREE for some time and if you didn't deactivated after 15 days only it will get charged"... Kesav bhai, you are feeling giddy on seeing amit ji's FREE net speed in Japan??? Then look at Dr Muffy's (also FREE and UnLimited) speedtest result (from his campus in US of A) in his signature and then see my (India's) cheapest UnLimited (Rs4200 for 6 months BSNL 3G) speedtest result in my signature and get despair... Though our Up and Down speed speed are lowest, these Japan and USA can never beat our PING TIME ... And Indian ISPs are planning to change unit of PING from milli-sec to minutes... Well... We Indians are way toooo too much content with what we have got, may be...

Dr sir... Few examples of limitations like non-removable battery, non-removable memory card, Signal strength (or lack of it) when HOLDING IT WRONG, NO SIMPLE BT file transfer, NO PURE multitasking, System-wide File manager, Limited customizations like launcher pro in Android, NO SIMPLE app installations using installers like apk files in android <<NOT SURE>>, TOO DEPENDENT on desktop iTunes, NO video-call (NOT FACE-TIME VIA WiFi), NO Flash on browser, jail-breaking is NOT everyone's cup of tea imho... Only main advantage of iPhone over Android, imho is enormous quantity of games.. Its not that great for power users like many android lovers here...

TATA is waiting for someone to come and build EV-DO network for FREE for them... They are NOT ready for some investments wrt CDMA, even if will be fruitful... I think, RCom has got 3G license there and dont want their EV-DO to cannibalize it... But atleast in case of RCom, you have option for high-speed internet from their GSM wing...

Shyam bhai, if you are on L1, the first 100 MB will be FREE and for the next 30.75 MB, you will be charged at Rs307.50 at 1p/1kb charges....

But the quality of EV-DO (atleast in my town Sivakasi and Rajapalayam) is nowhere near that of Photon+ (in Kovai) or MTS in Sivakasi... In their showroom, I got just 79kbps speed in speed test, with 100% HSIA coverage... They have NOT upgraded all their 1x towers to HSIA (only 2 towers out of 6 in Sivakasi)... But MTS has upgraded all its 4 towers to HSIA...

Any day Android for me.... May buy iPhone for my wife (SURELY NOT FOR ME) if CDMA imported iPhone was selling at Rs5000/- and anything more than that is worthless for a smartphone without basic things like fileManager, removable memory card/battery, imho... And I wont go for the GSM iPhone4 even if it is given for FREE, as it magically transforms to an iPodTouch if you HOLD IT WRONGLY (as mentioned by the evil god jobs)...

Same in All Chinese Dual Sims... -Some provide access to different Android Apps Market than Google's Standard App Market -No website of manufacturer...No Support..No Updates...After buying you are on your own.. thanks for ur analysis......i was planning to buy 1 of these..................now plan chganged...............do u think micromax andro is gud enough?? Please force TATA people also by say showing them these results in RCom and any other means, if possible... Please.. Please... Please... For TATA, I am even ready to pay 5 to 10 times more for what is now charged in RCom's case (as HP sir once told, it is only ONE OUT OF TEN success rate in TATA's case)...

Though expected, this move is NOKIA once said going for Android is like peeing in its pant (temporary relief for cold) and now they have $h!tted in their pants Symbian is actually a good resource-friendly OS except UI... WP7 is a resource-hungry OS with good UI and nothing else (NO Copy-Paste, NO Multitasking, NO SD support, NO BT File Transfer, NO FileManager support, Limited Customisation --- whereas symbian has all these from Day1 that is from 1999)... Atleast NOKIA should have bought Palm/WebOS instead... Elop has actually done good for M$ and N0T FOR NOKIA... RCom is very kind towards Delhi people... In other circles the roaming tariff is Rs1 for In and LocalOut and Rs1.50 for STD_Out... But they are charging just 2p/sec in Delhi... Further 1p/sec roaming is available, not in RCom, but in Docomo--which is NOT available in Delhi circle... The next best roaming tariff is found in Vodafone/Idea prepaid where roaming charges are 1.5p/sec or 70p/min... Another choice for we people is 1p/sec onnet and incoming but 1.2p/sec to offnet roaming by BSNL---WHICH is also not present in Delhi circle... Reg roaming data tariff, I think it comes under FREE usage (if you are using any pack) in RCom network... I am using TN RGsm number for 2G data in Chattisgarh now and usage gets reduced from 2GB plan only... Tanveer bhai, it is for new customers only... For existing customers it will be same as 1p/sec... So you will enjoy this benefit till you change the plan...

GANESAN Sir... There is NO SUCH NON-SENSE RULE... I GOT UPC code immediately after sending the PORT request... Please see the BOLD part in the above quote... It says "The request for Change of ownership is Under process"... THEY ARE FORCING YOU TO CHANGE THE OWNERSHIP, SO THAT THEY CAN GET ANOTHER 90 DAYS TIME TO HARM YOU MORE... AirHELL rasc@ls proved that they can goto any limit to stop higher ARPU customers from porting... Just file a case on the dealer, Nodal Officer (if possible record his call while calling next time) and AirHELL as a whole stating that "YOU PEOPLE ARE FORCING ME TO CHANGE OWNERSHIP TO DELAY MY PORTING PROCESS AND YOU HAVE TO PAY ME FOR THE EXPENSES, INCONVENIENCES, and OUT-RIGHT CHEATING" and threaten them to give the news to MEDIA (esp after recording his voice) and do the thing for MEDIA also...
