The Spectrum Tussle - Cdma V Gsm
KanagaDeepan replied to Arun's topic in Indian Telecom / General News
WOW.... AirHELL has to pay 40-BILLION INR, V0da has to give 17.5-BILLION INR and CARTEL HAS TO PAY THIS AGAIN WHEN LICENSE RENEWAL WHICH IS DUE IN COUPLE OF YEARS ... And ALSO NEW operators NEED NOT PAY ANYTHING till they reach 6.2MHz level... I am LOVING IT... Further this will reduce number of fake activations by all old and new operators... But whatever the Cartel may blame or shedding crocodile tears, they WILL PAY WHATEVER TRAI CHARGES and WILL NEVER LET THEIR 900MHz SPECTRUM TO GO AWAY from them, may be except in circles where they have got 3G spectrum... OHHH... The cost of 2G spectrum is highest in our TN :'( ??? Seems, I have to finalize quickly the deal with the retention team... -
Mobile Number Portability (MNP): Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
KanagaDeepan replied to rajanmehta's topic in Mobile Number Portability (MNP)
Imho the answers will be as follows:- (1) NO... (2) YES.. My guess is, conversion from post to pre is NOT going to be change of operator, imho... But the converted prepaid number will be seen as fresh connection only and the 90-days counter for MNP was again resetted to zero (sorry Ganesan sir)... But the postpaid person may lie saying, minimum 90 days are needed for converting from post2pre.. Then just threaten them "convert me to prepaid or CLOSE MY CONNECTION" and he will surely do the post2pre conversion... Conversion to prepaid is the LAST method postpaid dealers are following to retain their customers (it will NOT be counted as churn customers if post2pre was done).. And many people have converted from pre2post without any issues... The conversion of G2C or C2G of dual-tech operator will surely comes under mandatory 90 days period... Though it is like change within sister-cos, it is definitely change of operators and hence the 90 days period.. Araae bhai, though dad and son have same blood, they will have seperate mouth and stomach, right??? Again this procedure is followed by postpaid dealers to retain their customers, as change to their sister-co is ALSO NOT TAKEN AS CHURN AND WILL NOT AFFECT THEIR INCENTIVE/COMMISION for that connection and the retention team offered me this choice too... In our town, many TataCDMA postpaid users have been converted to Docomo prepaid due to lack of handset choices... (As a result now I will be like 6 to 7 percentage of Postpaid-TataCDMA market share in Sivakasi, from the 4-5% during Nov-2010) NOTE:- This 90days period is MORE HELPFUL to postpaid-dealers than operators as dealers will get FULL COMMISSION for a postpaid/prepaid connection ONLY WHEN THE CUSTOMER IS ACTIVE FOR MINIMUM 3 months in network... This practice has been followed for many years... And this is one of the reasons the postpaid dealer will reject earlier conversion of post2pre and hence you have to threaten them to get converted to pre... Further whatever I have told above holds 100% TRUE for TataCDMA (as my relative is the dealer in my town) and most probably for other operators too, imho...- 242 replies

Anyone Used The Rs.1500 Postpaid Plan Of BSNL Especially While Roaming?
KanagaDeepan posted a topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
I am a heavy roaming user and I feel the Rs1500-plan of BSNL may suit me well, on one condition... Details of that plan is here... The plan gives FREE UnLimited LocalOnnet/STDOnnet/RoamingIncoming/RoamingOutgoingLocal_STD_Onnet/Local_National_SMS/UnLimited_2G_Data/1GB_3G_Data at Rs1500 per month... I am thinking of changing all my ten numbers to BSNL by MNP, simply for this plan for my main number... But there is only one confusion in that plan according to the given web-page... It is said in column 4.5 (FREE O/G calls in roaming) that all Outgoing-Roaming calls to BSNL is UnLimited FREE... But in column 5.4.1 and 5.4.3 it says RoamingOutgoing onnet charges as 30p/min... Which is TRUE??? Anybody using that plan, please confirm which one is TRUE??? If the RoamingOutgoing plan is 30p/min for onnet, then it is useless to me... Why I am more confused is:- 1. BSNL IVR in CC-number says RoamingOut2BSNL UnLimited FREE.. 2. BSNL CC also says same.. 3. In Sivakasi BSNL office, staff says it is 30p/min.. 4. But the board in BSNL office says UnLimited FREE.. 5. Part of BSNL webpage says 30p/min and remaining says FREE So anybody who have used this plan, please clear my doubt... The staffs in BSNL office says NOBODY in our town is using this plan.. I have converted my old BSNL number to prepaid and since it has huge money as balance, I cant convert it to postpaid and check it myself .. Please help me... -
Anyone Used The Rs.1500 Postpaid Plan Of BSNL Especially While Roaming?
KanagaDeepan replied to KanagaDeepan's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
Ohh.... STUPID BSNL We have to pay Rs1500 and still pay 30p/min for calling the numbers in their pathetic network while roaming... If FREE Local/STD onnet is only needed, I will go with the 725Plan, which has UnLimited Local onnet and 1500 STD onnet FREE ... For just the Incoming FREE roaming minutes, we have to pay Rs775 EXTRA ???? TATA gives 2000 roaming Incoming minutes and 500 Roam-Outgoing-minutes to Local/STD of any network for just Rs199/- only -

Double Talktime Offer From Tata Docomo
KanagaDeepan replied to Honest's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
Raccoon bhai, I got the eligibility of offer (and registration also) confirmed on their facebook page after so many times of trying, for nearly two hours... But they didn't confirmed about reg, eligibility or even rejection of their offer by SMS or any means... As I have already told, they launched this offer to prevent their subscribers to jump away from their earlier using MNP... After huge amount recharged for that offer, if you want to move away from Docomo using MNP, you have to sacrifice the huge amount, which most probably no-one will do... My guess is, as I already have a huge amount as balance (even b4 the recharge), they neglected me with hope that I may NOT jump from them soon... But I got the ExtraTT back using their sister co and their retention team... Now the retention guy confirmed me that, he is responsible for the recharge of ExtraTT... (But still he might have lied just to impress me) Anyway I have kept my promise of "NOT DOING RECHARGES/TOP_UP OTHER THAN FULL TT or HYPER TT" for my prepaid numbers... And now I have got Rs1792/- for Rs990 TopUp and using the STV for 1p/2sec Local/STD for 3 months... That brings my current tariff to around 17p/60sec Local/STD now and put this SIM to EPABX, so that everyone in my office and home can make use of this plan... -
MNP Retention Offer You Received
KanagaDeepan replied to rajanmehta's topic in Mobile Number Portability (MNP)

Anyone Used The Rs.1500 Postpaid Plan Of BSNL Especially While Roaming?
KanagaDeepan replied to KanagaDeepan's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
Wow... Hari sir... 1. Are you sure you getting FREE OUTGOING CALLS TO BSNL LOCAL/STD even in roaming ??? 2. Have you checked in Itemised bills recently, sir??? 3. when you have changed to this plan sir ji??? Recently or immediately when plan launched around mid-2009??? 4. Are you charged at 20p/min for Roaming-Outgoing for Local_OFFNET and 30p/min for Roaming-outgoing for STD_OFFNET calls too??? Because on further enquiry in net, I got still confused... Some people say that "EARLIER WHEN THE PLAN1500 was launched FIRST, Out-to-BSNL was completely FREE even in roaming and 20p/min was charged for Out-Offnet-Local in roaming and now it was changed to ALL-Roam-Out @ 30p/min And saying that, for old users the plan continues like earlier??? I may seem soo annoying, but this Roam-Out_to_Local/STD_BSNL_FREE is a must, if I have to jump to BSNL from TataCDMA... Please confirm me, please... Please... -
TATA Indicom Introduces Fab4 Plan
KanagaDeepan replied to sougatadc's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
Yes... The fabulous four has four freebies:- 1) 100 minutes (6000 seconds) of OnNet Local+STD (appx Rs50) 2) 100 minutes (6000 seconds) of Offnet Local+STD (appx Rs50) 3) 100 Local/National/Roaming SMS (appx Rs50) 4) 100 minutes (NOT IN SECONDS) of RoamingIncomingCalls FREE 5) RoamingCalls at Rs1/1/1.5 for In/Local/STD 6) After freebies call charges at 1p/sec Local/STD and 50p/SMS 7) Plan Rent Rs199/- Will surely recommend to all if the roaming charges was 1p/sec or 50p/min... But still this plan is OK for lite-roaming users, like going tourist/pilgrimage visit with family... Surely its a Tricky plan, as PPS249 is better than this one... Details of PPS249:- 1) Local/STD/Roaming at 1p/sec 2) Rs200 Local/STD FREE 3) 249 Local/STD/Roaming SMS FREE 4) Plan rent Rs249/- This plan is good for all-purposes, imho... -
Anyone Used The Rs.1500 Postpaid Plan Of BSNL Especially While Roaming?
KanagaDeepan replied to KanagaDeepan's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
Though you are joking, that only seems to be the possible solution for now... I have asked in one telecom site too, but didn't get a satisfactory answer... The only solution is activating that plan to my dad (he is in 325 now) while he is going for roaming and check in his itemised bill... But his visit is on april (or even later) only and the situation of customer that he has to shed 1.5k Rs to just check the tariff of BSNL is worrying me, reg moving to BSNL from TataCDMA... -
Double Talktime Offer From Tata Docomo
KanagaDeepan replied to Honest's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
Raccoon bhai, the specialty of this offer is just to avoid port-out requests from DoCoMo prepaid users... Since people may have done a big recharge with this offer, they may NOT go away from them as the core balance will be nullified during port-out process... But still why I have taken the risk of doing "THAT VERY VERY FIRST NON-FULL TALK_TIME RECHARGE IN MY LIFE" (and that too @ Rs990) is I have the hope that I can get them via their cousin brother TataCDMA, where I am having corporate connection of 10 postpaid numbers... I have made port-out request for all my TEN CDMA numbers for the reason "NON AVAILABILITY OF GOOD VOLUME BASED 1x ONLY (NOT THAT HSIA) USAGE PLANS ON MOBILE" and NOT with the intention to get the ExtraTT on Docomo prepaid.... They reached my office and got the reasons, which I told (and added T2T FREE for 4 numbers and cheaper ISD on my main number)... But they asked me to switch my main number to Docomo for good data plan and keep the other nine numbers in TataCDMA and they are ready to offer a. FREE T2T to all the 10 numbers (I asked for four only though) b. FREE CUG to all the 10 numbers (incl the DoCoMo number) c. Lesser ISD charges on DoCoMo number d. FREE 1000 Local/National/Roaming SMS for Rs25 (Default plan is 300 SMS for Rs25) e. Promised me to get my other 2 numbers programmed to foreign handset with proper A-Key validation process or whatever But I rejected the offer saying "Docomo has cheated me in the FacebookFanOffer" and they said they will revert it soon and the very next morning I got the ExtraTT in my Docomo prepaid number... I am waiting for the good 1x plan from them by today evening and will surely update with full info tonight... -

Reliance Jio - Pan India 4G / LTE network
KanagaDeepan replied to Arun's topic in Reliance Jio 4G LTE (Prepaid & Postpaid)
Ya, in telecom whatever you are saying is 100% correct... But I am saying from their earlier deeds in PVC (LD, HD) market, where they launched at half the price (even with loss) and killed small cos and became Monopoly and increasing rates at their will now... -
04:02.2011 11:00 pm. Number is ported. Now I am facing following problems, As per website,I suppose to get 100 MB data free, itemized bill and 1p/6sec T2T local. But as per CC these are not activated for my account. CC guy is not ready to take complaint for it. Not able to send and receive SMS Not receiving incoming calls. But able to do outgoing calls. Still I am receiving a SMS for VAS services to my RCDMA phone. I think the early bird (launch) offer is till 30th Jan2011 only, if you see the fine-print.. It is not at all worthy imho, as MNP was launched just on 21st Jan and seven FULL WORKING days are needed for porting (that excludes Jan26th and Saturday and sunday in between)...

2G Scam: Supreme Court Quashes 122 Licences issued in 2008
KanagaDeepan replied to csmart's topic in Indian Telecom / General News
Tariff became cheap due to competition.... BSNL got worst because of raja... Etisalat got spectrum for huge cost (for few circles from swan) because of raja.. S-Tel was interrupted by raja (remember security clearance drama).. CDMA players getting less spectrum comparing GSM, because of raja... Well, raja has done million times more harm to Indian Telecom than anything good... Even the few good things done by him for us is anyways un-intentional and a side-effect of his daylight robbery... PERIOD -
For Android users atleast there are free apps like "3G WatchDog" and "NetCounter"... Apart from some round-offs for the pulse (10kb here), these apps works well, imho...
