  1. Reliance Communications Launches 3G Mobile Services

Yes sir.. This time RCom's tariff is much straight-forward and better than that of Tata.. Even though TataGSM is first pvt player to launch 3G services, there is a VERY BIG CATCH here.. Like the mistake they have done in CDMA EV-DO, they are concentrating ONLY ON CITIES and NO small towns are in their 3G roadmap for 2011.. I think TATA DoCoMo 3G will be a big LOOSER in coming days, if they continue these sh!tty restrictions (Locked modem, speed restrictions, voice bundling)..
  2. MTS Launch

MTS has launched its EV-DO service in Sivakasi, Thiruthangal... Within two months it is coming to Rajapalayam.. This is what I expect from all other CDMA operators.. FAST expansion of EV-DO coverage... Now I am going to say GOOD BYE to Tata Photon+ connection(s)
  3. 3G Speed Difference

I once got 198kbps upload speed from SpeedTest.. Nothing seems wrong, isnt it??? I have seen it in my EPIC on 1x TataIndicom via SpeedTest app (And download speed is just 115kbps only)
  4. Sprint Samsung Epic 4G - The Beast Is Here!

Great list Dhiraj bhai... I just found one more benefit of EPIC 4G, which is NOT in Nexus S.. Please add this to your list of advantages of EPIC 4G over Nexus S.. 11. Gorilla glass display for extra protection from scratches (using keys in pocket) in EPIC 4G The curved display of Nexus S doesnt have Gorilla Glass display, we have to be careful when using Nexus S with keys in pocket.. I got this news online, but forgot the source.. I am using "DataSwitch" a FREE app from market to toggle data on and off.. It is easy, straight forward and working GOOD (tested with my data bills last month, thatz y I am soo sure) and it is FREE..
  5. International Roaming

Thanks for the info.. So in my next trip abroad, I think it is better to leave my TataNumber in home..
  6. Should I Go For MTS?

With expected reduction in carriage charge in Jan2011, the roaming charges in MTS may get reduced a bit.. So wait and watch...
  7. Hey, Its Snowing....

It is very nice to once again see snow in RimWeb.. It is working good in my PC, but slows down my netbook.. I switched off it in my netbook, but enjoying snow in my home PC...
  8. Kesav bhai... Jan1 is coming near.. Do you have any update on reduction in IUC (reduces Local/STD charges) or atleast carriage fees(reduces STD and roaming charges for NEW operators)???
  9. It is because, Uninor is one of the cos under the threat of being losing their licenses (due to eligibility dispute and fail of minimum Roll-out criteria).. Have you people forgot once Uninor was like another Reliance (CURRENT) esp the call m0le$ting charges or Rs2/- daily rent???
  10. Even ADA can perform well again, if he kicks the ex-AirHELL guys in their a$s to outside.. But that is NOT AT ALL going to happen anytime soon.
  11. Suggest a CDMA Handset with Group SMS support

Seems like nowadays CDMA has comparable number of handset options like GSM (well, almost -- atleast for this query)... But when Hitesh ji introduces android foreign CDMA handsets with DORA (DataOptimised Rev. A <<Simply EV-DO Rev A>>) support, then we will have much better nice handset options than GSM (Android handsets)..
  12. Huawei Ideos X6 Coming To India By Mid January 2011

Today I checked my sister's NOKIA X6 (S60 v5 with Capacitive touch) which I bought her almost 1 year ago for Rs15.5k... My goodness... Comparing Android with S60 v5 is like comparing Rajdhani Express with Passenger express, to be frank.. I suggested her this mobile to get next, when it becomes available in 2011...
  13. Reliance HSD / EVDO / Netconnect Broadband+ coverage update

Tatas need to learn a lot from RCom wrt EV-DO expansion.. I already told this same idea to them, but those guys are not at all interested in hearing itself...
  14. Should I Go For MTS?

@Kanaga - I got close to that karthik ji, actually I was referring to Rajan's post and before typing my post (I am little bit faster than a snail in typing during night) your post entered.. So there is confusion... ON-TOPIC:- If ROAMING is not that important, you can switch from Reliance to MTS anytime..
  15. Android 3 Honeycomb Debut On Motorola Tablet

Wow... Really a very very NICE teaser video...
  16. Should I Go For MTS?

Excellent answers.. But only one correction wrt question B.. ( Home Tariffs of MTS is better than RCdma, but ROAMING TARIFF (I guess you are an old user, so cheaper simple plan roaming tariff applies to you..) is NOT GOOD IN MTS, STILL NOW (Roaming is Rs1/1/1.50 for Roaming Incoming/Local/STD calls)... Please confirm this first..
  17. Reliance Communications Launches 3G Mobile Services

Why the validity is for 30 days... With 21Mbps speed (though final speed will be lot less), even 2 hours is a lot of time to finish it... True...
  18. Earlier around Aug2010 (not sure about date though) even the video calls of PSUs were stopped for the security blah blah... Then after making necessary changes, BSNL/MTNL got clearance fastly...
  19. Google App Inventor Now Open To Everyone

Hmmm... Then the number of apps in Android-Market will easily overtake Apple's-App-Store in near future.. But whether that will be for good or bad, is yet to be seen...
  20. Resistive Androids: Stay Away From These

Yes above all, these resistive screened phones may give bad impression about ANDROID to newbies as say "Android is slow, low responsive, etc..." while the fault is on cheap phone makers.. Also the processors <= 500MHz used in such phones may force its users to mistakely think as "Android is slow or buggy" To get first class experience on Android is to get phones of screen size >= 3.5" capacitive touch (ofcourse SuperAMOLED will be best) with minimum resolution of HVGA on Eclair or more.. Well, such phone will be very very costly and not in reach of masses.. But that is the best way to enjoy Android to full extend (for the time being atleast), imho..
  21. UPDATE:- The WiFi Hotspot provided by this USB Modem is WEP enabled... Just got the confirmed news from their team via TT... I suggested them to also bring PREMIUM HSPA+ 21.8Mbps USB modem with WiFi Hotspotting facility in near future...
  22. Whether the WiFi facility given by this device is just Peer2Peer Adhoc unsecured ones or password enabled???
  23. Any reviews for BSNL 3G Data Card?

I am also experiencing the same with my FASTEL 3G USB modem... But I have noted one more issue.. BSNL's 3G DATA IS NOT AT ALL WORKING ON MY E90 also (WITH BOTH 3G SIM of RoTN and also my BSNL number with 3G active).. BUT VIDEO CALLING IS WORKING WITHOUT ANY ISSUES.. May be DoCoMo, the only private 3G operator has paid well to BSNL staffs or BSNL IS ALWAYS LIKE THAT IN MAH & GOA circle??? Please anybody from M&G help me in this issue...
  24. Rs90/- pack gives 200MB in 3G and Rs96/- gives 6GB in 2G??? It is a well known fact that FULLY_using 6GB from 2G will be very difficult and similarly with even 3.6Mbps speed it is easy to finish 200MB within a day. Still now, a VERY VERY BAD 3G plan from Docomo.. Reg 3G tariffs DoCoMo < RGsm < BSNL/MTNL 1) Further 3G in handset SHOULD NOT be used for tethering (phone as modem) in case of DoCoMo, but RGsma and BSNL allows this.. 2) In DoCoMo, call/sms charges for 3G are different from 2G, but NOT so in RGsm and BSNL (I am using EnNanban + 3G in BSNL).. 3) Further DoCoMo restricts speed (HSPA+ 21Mbps only for Rs2000/- plan)… But RGsm and BSNL doesn't restricts speed.. 4) ISD in DoCoMo 2G is cheaper than 3G_DoCoMo's ON-NET VIDEO CALL charges 5) DoCoMo 3G (even DATA plans too) SHOULD NOT be used for Peer2Peer (torrent) downloads.. May be they should also tell "3G DoCoMo should be used ONLY for E-Mail sending and receiving" 6) BSNL give UnLimited3G WITHOUT FUP, but RGsm and Docomo are NOT giving.. But DoCoMo has TWO LEVELS OF FUP, in first level speed gets reduced to 128kbps (which is NOT EVEN lowest BB speed) and next level is 10kbps (you read it right 10Kilo-BITS-per-second).. You can see this if you dig into their T&C well.. So for now, BSNL is simply the best for 3G..
  25. Gigabyte GSmart Rola is a Dual-SIM smartphone with Froyo 12 December, 2010 Gigabyte is preparing to launch a dual-SIM smartphone running on Android v2.2 Froyo. It’s called GSmart Rola and it will launch on the bargain 175 euro in the beginning of 2011. After the decent dual-SIM GSmart S1205 running on Windows Mobile 6.5, Gigabyte is ready to take their dual-SIM business over at the Android camp. The GSmart Rola runs Android v2.2 Froyo but packs barely decent specs – a 3.2-inch resistive WQVGA touchscreen, a 528MHz processor, 256MB RAM, 512MB ROM, a 3 megapixel fixed-focus snapper and a microSD slot. The Rola’s connectivity however has everything covered – Wi-Fi, quad-band GSM, 3G with HSDPA support, GPS (with aGPS support and digital compass), Bluetooth and even FM radio. We suppose the 3G would be available only on one of the SIMs though. Gigabyte GSmart Rola will launch in Q1 2011 in selected regions with an expected retail pricetag of 175 euro. Yes... The WQVGA (RESISTIVE 240x400 only----one Quarter of EPIC's resolution) screen is the bad one here.. Not at all for diehard Android fans, but this is one of the first (if we do not consider wm5 phones from spice) DualSIM smartphone with 3G possible in one SIM.. Source :- GSM Arena
