  1. Hmmm... Just guess, how the retailer will struggle to educate this benefit of MAGICAL STV to a (of course non educated) villager??? Uninor is known for complicating its tariff plans.. Earlier its offers are having catch, now they started giving good offers but still continuing the complicating trend.. Earlier someone commented that "Uninor is thinking of using square-root and gamma functions in its tariffs".
  2. Reliance Calculated My Usage as Rs.6824

Have a look at the itemised bill.. Calculate your usage and pay for that only and then threaten them for disconnection for wrong billing... That may work..
  3. Yes sir.. That is the small side-effect of MNP, imho... But comparing the benefits it is going to give, this issue is nothing and a solution may arrive after some time, I guess..
  4. Nahi Kamal bhai... It is 90 days MINIMUM and NOT 60 days... I am sure...
  5. Yes, he should have told TataTele as fourth largest operator.. As TataTele includes TataIndicom, VirginCDMA, VirginGSM, T24, TataDocomo, Walky, even WirelineUsers also...
  6. Best GSM Service In Gujarat?

Very much TRUE and a good practical solution... Better trying before hand (by either getting temporary SIMs of operators or checking with friend's number in one's area) than just getting deceived by "No1 in Japan", "No2 in India", "No3 in Africa", "No4 in Europe", type empty proclamation, imho...
  7. If I remember correctly, RCDMA is the first one to provide UNPAID service during their launch, where they have given postpaid connections with ISD facility AND without much verification + handsets at subsidized price AND NO BILL WAS GENERATED for few months.. Many people have mis-used that and have accumulated usage upto 12000 and threw the handsets away.. That is truly an UN-PAID service, imho..
  8. I have only one doubt, either IDEA is very much sure that MNP is coming without a delay OR they have setup everthing to postpone MNP and are acting like "WE HAVE NO FEAR ON MNP" (though they have wet their pants already)
  9. Wow.. Since, Kamal ji is giving surity, I think, we will get MNP now (atleast by first quarter of 2011). Let us hope, our great observer has got correct insider info.. My only hope of MNP arrival, is that "Congress govt has earned a very bad name due to 2G scam and they may introduce MNP without any further delay to get good name (or atleast to avoid further bad name)".. Further maama 0bama's visit also helped in clearing the Telec0rdia case.. Also just now, I have seen Idea's ad about MNP.. Either they are sure that MNP is coming without further delay OR they have already taken steps to postpone it and acting like "We dont have fear on MNP"..
  10. The Spectrum Tussle - Cdma V Gsm

I think it is too-much-foolishness to assume 2G spectrum cost as almost equal to that of 3G-spectrum cost.. We have to remember that, only few slots of 3G-waves are freed by defense and hence these much competition was found in its auction.. The efficiency of 3G, also attributes to its high cost to some extend.. Further the operators can get their money back faster in 3G, due to its various applications & VAS possibilities.. So no need to harass the new players for getting 2G spectrum for cheap.. They are already suffering a lot, to fight the old biggies due to the 1800MHz 2G waves allotted to them.. But if govt is very strong in getting some money again from new players, then atleast they should go for immediate spectrum-re_framing (to those who have satisfied the minimum roll-out conditions).. Then only a level playing field can be maintained, imho..
  11. Kamal bhai... How are you too sure about that.. I won't believe MNP will come till the minute, it is announced/launched officially... For now, I think the current political chaos is enough to say as a reason to postpone MNP (say Kapil uncle needs to review the MNP guidelines fully, before official launching)..
  12. Very TRUE... The only way to send private e-mail is using steganography techniques or using our own character set (like rev.alphabet) or some complicated-piglatin methods... In short, we ourselves have to encrypt (using our techniques) before sending mails...
  13. Best GSM Service In Gujarat?

are you looking for best service with Gujarat only OR ALL INDIA???? If Gujarat only, why worry about Idea's ALL-India-Network.. Or if you are very keen on all-India-presence AND ROAMING, go for BSNL or RCdma or TataCDMA...
  14. TATA Docomo Launch 3G Services on Diwali

Hmmm... Tatas are launching 3G services really fast, NOT SNAIL_LIKE EV-DO coverage-growth of TataIndicom.. Now only one thing has to be done, bringing the tariff from the SKY to the reach of us, else Docomo 3G will be only for Crorepatis, and currently almost all Crorepatis are using either Airtel/Vodafone/Idea/BSNL only...
  15. But already FREE_PushMail service is available for most E-series (Nokia_Messaging) NOKIA mobiles right... But good for N, X and C series ones...
  16. Its All New Airtel Now

Kamal bhai, with so much extra spectrum and that too 900MHz in most circles by Airtel, it is NO WONDER.. In my town, I can show few places where Airtel's coverage is POOR (I think they are operating on 1800MHz in TN).. In my town, TataIndicom has best call quality than Airtel, Vodafone, Aircel (and do I need to include obvious, the great RGsm and BSNL).. <<May be due to very few TI mobile users here >>
  17. Vote For The Best Web Browser!

I have voted for FF.. But for slow connections, I use Opera with Turbo-enabled... (Means OperaMini for desktops).. So the second vote for Opera...
  18. Reliance HSD / EVDO / Netconnect Broadband+ coverage update

Seems only TATA is very slow in increasing EV-DO coverage...
  19. The Spectrum Tussle - Cdma V Gsm

Nice to hear.. Now Delhi people can also enjoy lower tariffs (1p/2sec)... Main advantage is existing TataDocomo users (like me) need not burn their purse, while roaming to NewDelhi, in coming days...
  20. not only to Govt.. But also to BharatBerry (With same BB handset, FREE Push-mail for few months and Rs50/month later) and RIM's declining-of-market-share in US, also for this sudden change from RIM..
  21. Its All New Airtel Now

New logo is looking like the instrument for "HEARING AID"... Or maybe a "HUMAN EAR" or "AN OLD LADY WITH WHITE HAIR & RED CHIN"... But NOT like a decent logo of an MNC and to be precise, OLD LOGO was FAR BETTER, imho.. Kesav Ji, Airtel changing attitude??? May be, Yes.. They said they are going to CHANGE THE MARKET WITH NEW MODEL "LOW TARIFF---HIGH VOLUME".. Hurraahh... But this model is for AFRICA only, may be to some extend to SriLanka too and NOT AT ALL FOR INDIA... Source here.. They are spending 300Crores for just changing the LOGO... Source TelecomTalk.info..
  22. Hmm... Bad indoor coverage.. The magic of 1800MHz spectrum allocated to them.. 20p/min is IUC.. So they get 5p/min, getting a 25% margin .. May be lowest for telecom industry, but a dream come true margin for printing industry people like me.. But, wait... They don't have own/backbone network and they need to use other's network for STD and they need to pay the CARRIAGE CHARGE isn't it???? The CEILING of carriage charge is 60p/min and TRAI is thinking to reduce it during Jan/2011, isn't it.. Then how can they offer STD @ 25p/min????
  23. Sharp To Launch 3D Android In India

When Docomo started 3G, I expected them to bring such nice handsets from Japan, but they disappointed me... When the tariffs are in reach for rich people only, then why not they bring such rich handsets to India..?
  24. I got the answer for your above question from @tatadocomo via twitter.. They are NOT providing offnet video-calls as of now (YES.. NOT even with existing operators like BSNL/MTNL).. Now I am in Nagpur and enjoying video-calls on BSNL-3G @ just Rs1/min... I remember, exactly last year, BSNL charged me Rs1/min for roaming VOICE-call and NOW Rs1/min for ROAMING_OUTGOING-STD-VIDEO-CALL.. I am using BSNL prepaid En-Nanban 2G plan with 3G facility automatically activated by BSNL on my E90.. But the roaming-outgoing-video_call charges for postpaid users is Rs1.50/min But Docomo is charging 5p/sec (upto Rs3/min) for EVEN ON-NET video calls, let alone offnet video_call charges.. Initially, I felt sad that Docomo missed 3G license in my circle (TN), but NOT NOW .. BSNL is the way to go, wrt 3G tariffs and especially coverage... These pvt guys WON'T launch 3G services in Tier-II cities initially, let alone towns and villages... So to experience 3G in small towns and mainly in roaming, only BSNL is the right choice.. For example, in Raipur (Capital of Chattisgarh, comes in MP circle) there is NO-EVDO coverage (NOT EVEN from BSNL), but BSNL has already started 3G services in Raipur.. Docomo, who spoke a lot in web reg 3G launch in all its 3G circles, has NOT launched 3G services in Raipur yet..
  25. Very TRUE... Thatz why Ambanis are ahead of Tata.. See the Delhi-circle of TataGSM for example... (TataDocomo got Delhi license first, but startup spectrum was awarded to RCom.. Even now there is a talk that remaining (Last 5MHz, I think--but NOT sure) spectrum was going to be given to RCom only and NOT to TataDocomo, for which TATA is opposing---- Got this Info in one Kesav ji's post)
