Mobile Number Portability service from November 25
KanagaDeepan replied to Arun's topic in Mobile Number Portability (MNP)
I have one BIG doubt.. Now we are getting instant response for getting the code.. Whether this will be the same situation, when MNP has started?? What if the donor, doesn't allow response SMS with code to reach one's mobile?? Especially on seeing the validity of code is JUST 24 hours??? -
Mobile Number Portability service from November 25
KanagaDeepan replied to Arun's topic in Mobile Number Portability (MNP)
Waiting for another 25 days is NOT AT ALL a problem.. It is the doubt and the possibility of yet another delay in MNP launching due to yet another lame reason is the worrying thing.. -
Cheers Mobile Launches GSM Mobile Services In Delhi
KanagaDeepan replied to in.raghav's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
Hmmm... Cheers is also behaving like Uninor during launching(remember the call m0le$ting charges), tariffs with too many complications.. So the tariff is NOT local-onnet 10p, local-offnet 30p, as specified in their web-site, so long ago... Cheers needs similar experiences by Uninor, after which Uninor is now giving decent offers.. -
Photon+ is not at all ruim-based from launch.. It is photonWhiz (1x modem) which is RUIM based initially.. Now new PhotonWhiz (or simply Photon) are also coming without RUIM slot..

BlackBerry, Skype, Gmail and now 3G come under the scanner of Indian Government
KanagaDeepan replied to faizone's topic in Indian Telecom / General News
May be on seeing the taarik pe taarik comedy of MNP, RIM has got courage to ask for so many extensions of dead-lines... My words may seem like a joke, but it sadly is true also, imho... -
Dot Rings Mobile Number Portability
KanagaDeepan replied to coolrajiv's topic in Mobile Number Portability (MNP)
Huh?! It would be difficult for callers to know the operator of the called phone, but why would operators withdraw the packs (if that is what you mean)? I meant to say that nobody will subscribe to on-net call packs. For example, I'll withdraw my Tata2Tata unlimited pack as I'll not be sure my buddies are still with Tata or not. Why taking risk? Hence, the companies will find that there are no takers for the on-net packs after MNP. I don't think so Sougata ji.. Then (atleast the CDMA players Tata, RCom, MTS) operators will launch a SMS based service to a TOLL-FREE number to find whether the given number/list is ON-NET or NOT.. Many people are using CDMA for CHEAP FREE onnet calls, imho (like MTS 1 Million onnet minutes FREE, Tata2Tata Rs99 pack, Onnet pack @ Rs99 by RCom) -
Spice Launches Mi300 - Android Based 3G Handset
KanagaDeepan replied to commonman's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
Surely, the Android version is NOT 2.1... And we can't hope spice will release update in near future.. They just know how to paste their name-sticker on the Chinese-Handsets they import.. -
Else we can open a poll for this, to know fellow member interests...

Tata Tele Introduces Photon Wi-Fi Pocket Router At Rs.4999
KanagaDeepan replied to Mukeshlst's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
When MNP was far away from us, those CDMA biggies (Tata and RCom) are helping us in (affordable tariffs, esp roaming) many ways.. But when MNP is coming very very near, they got MAD and started doing ridiculous things (Tata-- AKey, Photon+ coverage, Cost of devices & Rcom-- See the "RCom showing its TRUE face" Thread).. Now I am seeing so many Die-Hard RCom and Tata fans ready to jump to other operators on introduction of MNP.. Looks like only MTS is playing safe for MNP as it now allows use of EV-DO on foreign handsets too... -
Request TATA Indicom To Activate EVDO on Non RUIM Handsets
KanagaDeepan replied to gaurangbhartia's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
Yes Kesav sir.. Tata Photon+ coverage is NOT even available in Madurai itself (But MTS has EV-DO coverage in Madurai), let alone Sivakasi... I am using Photon+ only in Nagpur while roaming (2 days a month).. Further now, MTS allows EV-DO on foreign handsets too... Time to say good-bye to TataIndicom after the introduction of MNP.. -
Updated: Pesky SMSs/Calls: Major relief to users from March 21, 2011
KanagaDeepan replied to Arun's topic in Indian Telecom / General News
Parin, I am sure, that is a deliberate disturbance given by Airtel.. Yes, I have experienced similar issues while roaming from Airtel guys.. Thatz why I have abandoned Airtel then.. The full details and how I take care of that issue (the harder way for them ) is shown in this link.. That is the only way to get rid of those calls from Airtel while roaming, imho.. ON-TOPIC:- I don't think the upcoming DoCallRegistry will stop those AirHELL guys from doing such mischives to get some easy money from the innocent customers, imho... -
Request TATA Indicom To Activate EVDO on Non RUIM Handsets
KanagaDeepan replied to gaurangbhartia's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
Dr sir.. Even I am also having 10 corporate connections with me and I am 4% of the total value of my town for them(by revenue/billValue).. But still they refused to program my number in Verizon BB8830.. Yes, I have threatened them to close all my connections too.. But those lazy, non-technical, non-customer-centric, non-performing, Tata guys gave me lame excuses and even didn't care about my threatening.. Later Hitesh ji and Sumit bhai helped in programming my number in foreign handset.. Yes, it took me FULL FOUR months of fight and struggle to use the BB8830 for Tata.. Now I am the first one and to be precuse, the ONLY ONE in my town Sivakasi, who use foreign handset for TataIndicom.. As Hetal sir rightly said, NOT WORTH THE EFFORTS, wrt TATA INDICOM... Tata should first accept the very fact that, "Handset sales IS NOT A REVENUE GENERATING AREA.. Customers dont want the RIDICULOUSLY low priced and RIDICULOUSLY HIGH priced handsets, sold by them" They should accept foreign handsets readily, as it will help them in growth of base(volumes).. Growth in base is much more important than earning some tens_of_1000s from OVER-PRICED outdated handsets sold to customer, who bought it un-willingly as there is NO OTHER SIMPLE WAY/choice for him to get a decent feature-rich handset.. With MNP around the corner, I am sure my beloved TataIndicom (they have best of tariffs, data speed is good, new dealers are very good) will suffer due to these very same HANDSET issues... The second issue is the speed at which they are increasing Photon+ coverage, especially in circle where their GSM wing missed the 3G auction.. -
Dot Rings Mobile Number Portability
KanagaDeepan replied to coolrajiv's topic in Mobile Number Portability (MNP)
I don't think that the date given by TelecomTalk reg Karnataka circle is correct.. Because Karnataka comes under zone2 and with Telecordia problem not sorted out still, MNP unlikely to reach zone2 circles in November imho.. I still have my doubts reg MNP implementation in this year atleast for zone2 circles... -

Tata Takes On Mts In Datacard Tariff
KanagaDeepan replied to kesav's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
No sir ji... They have given me the benefits of new customer (Rs200 discount) without any advanced-rental burden... Of-course after some threatening (If you r going to provide Rs200 discount for new users only, then close my Photon+ connection and I will get a new one with Rs200 discount) Further they can't ignore me, as they are not well established in our town and my current total bill-value (total bill amount of all my connections) is about 4% of the total bill-value of my town... Hmmm... The advantage of living in medium size towns.. -
Vodafone announces 3G USB Stick

Now Possible - Tata Indicom Migration From Postpaid To Prepaid Migration
KanagaDeepan replied to HetalDP's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
All members are correct.. Hetal bhai, Sougatadc sir, saket ji.. 1) TTML is a listed company and hence no low-margin (read: mouth-watering plans like PPC) are allowed there.. 2) TTSL is different and more flexible and allows such conversions.. 3) Saket told me (in our first meeting) that once there was a CDMA operator in Mah&Mumbai. Later Tata bought them under the name TTML.. 4) TTML allows post to pre conversions only when customers threaten to leave TataCDMA.. 5) TTML doesn't allows Pre2Post, which I have seen many times in TataIndicom's official forum.. And now Hetal sir, took much effort to bring that Prepaid to Postpaid benefit to us in Mum&Mah circle.. Thank you sir for your great efforts and +1 for you.. -

So that they can think of new reason to delay MNP further... Call me a pessimist or anything.. But, still now I dont have my hopes too high regarding MNP implementation.. -

TATA Docomo Launch 3G Services on Diwali

TATA Docomo Launch 3G Services on Diwali
KanagaDeepan replied to rahulmalik_81's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
Yes, Greatest Bhai.. I have asked few questions and they answered too... I am posting them here.. But since I am a heavy roaming user, my most questions are related to roaming only.. And I gave few suggestions.. But there are few useful questions, I have asked and they answered too, which is as follows:- I then later tried to ask about any possibility of use/introduction of DualMode (3G+EV-DO) USB modem to make use of EV-DO if 3G is NOT available (read circles where Docomo has NOT got 3G license)??? But my internet connection later got some issues and my tweet was not sent from my side.. If that query was sent and answered , that will be very helpful UPDATE:- This is what I have tweeted last.. Will update you all, when I got reply.. That is all for now, friends... -
TATA Indicom Reintroduces Internet Packs
KanagaDeepan replied to sougatadc's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
NO, It is NOT working.. I mean if you use internet as userid, then you will be charged at 40p/min (depending on plan)... The usage doesn't use the 1GB pack... I am telling this from my experience.. Hope this helps.. -
Roaming Charges May Go Soon!
KanagaDeepan replied to chitshar's topic in Indian Telecom / General News
Sorry Kamal bhai, I beg to differ here.. Removal of roaming charges will be SOMETHING LIKE A BOON for customers of NON-Dual_Technology operators (Airtel/Voda/Idea/Aircel/MTS) only imho.. Because they are the ones who are now charging ridiculously high for roaming usage comparing home.. For example, the simple plans (50p Local/STD/roaming) after removal of roaming will be NOT much different, except FREE incoming calls in roaming.. Most serious roamers use either RCom or BSNL or Tata only, imho.. I usually spend 144 days/year (12 days a month) in roaming... Even now, I am enjoying FREE roaming SMS, FREE roaming incoming, (FREE ROAMING OUTGOING TOO), Uniform call rate.. For me removal of roaming is JUST ONE THING, "I NEED NOT GIVE MISSED CALL TO MY CUG MEMBERS and continue to call them FREE from any state".. ----------------------------------------------- Further I dont think that removal of roaming is NOT a simple thing, due to following reasons.. 1) In some circles like NE, Assam, Kashmir Prepaid users are NOT allowed to roam and if India has became ONE SINGLE BIG CIRCLE, then that restriction can't be placed.. 2) NOT all operators have got PAN-INDIA LICENSE & even few who have got license, still DIDN'T got any START-UP spectrum (Eg: Docomo in Delhi) to start service. 3) MOST IMPORTANT HURDLE is Raja being the current Telecom minister, who has neither the courage to take BOLD decisions nor the heart to help fellow Indians.. He has a VERY VERY VERY big stomach, and BADDIES have enough money to fill it, to avoid bringing this nice scheme.. -

I now remember that, Mrs.R@ja is behind the Allianz co, who sold the spectrum for huge amount in black to Etisalat days after buying for small amount.
