Yes, RCom, Tata, MTS has only good coverage in cities... Nothing in remote areas and in towns.. But BSNL has Coverage problems in CITIES also.. Their activity seems as they are doing their job un-willingly... In my home-town Sivakasi, they are saying that EV-DO is there.. But NO REASONABLE speed/stable in-building coverage even in centre of TOWN.. The reason they are saying is, they have launched EV-DO ONLY in their two towers. Who BLOCKED THEM TO INSTALL EV-DO equipment in all their towers??? So they have changed my Rs950-Rs200Discount + 5GB Limited plan to 5GB-EV-DO+Unlimited1x plan.. Nice plan as no need to worry about Limits and frequently connecting and disconnecting.. If they are going to say for new activations only, then I will surrender my Photon+ and get MBlaze instead...

I beg to differ... This also seems like an eye-wash, rather a cunning one imho.. Let us NOT have hopes too high friends.. Let us NOT forget that, Cartel guys are using BSNL/MTNL as third men here and these PSUs have already started 3G services.. So Cartel will say "we are ready with MNP and give 3G spectrum to me and allow me to start my 3G services...".. BSNL/MTNL will say "I am NOT ready with MNP and YOU CAN'T STOP my 3G SERVICE.. ONLY WAY IS TO STOP MNP.." So DoT will have to allow 3G to private players and BLOCK MNP due to THIRD-MEN PSUs and everyone will once-again blame BSNL/MTNL.. We will be back to Square ONE.. Sorry to disappoint you all, friends.. But, I don't think that Airte1, V0dafone, Ide@ will allow MNP to come BEFORE 3G.. But after 3G, cartel may allow MNP as they can charge premium for 3G services and existing higher ARPU customers MAY NOT JUMP to new players for want of 3G.. That is the only hope for MNP... Just my two cents..

Yes, the pack seems good for heavy usage customers.. I think it will attract many postpaid customers as even lowest rental paying customers are paying min Rs50 to Rs100 as Extra (from FREE usage) as rent... I hope this 1p/2sec applies to Landlines too for the first time... i will make a recharge and tell my experience here.. Thanks, Sujay Sundar for informing...

So a better option is getting a C+G handset like SamsungDuos259 or GFone588 and use 30pLocal (1p/2sec by Docomo/Aircel or 29p by Uninor) GSM connection and get this ULTA plan of TataIndicom.. Now we get All@30p plan...

Right advice above by Vikas Ji.. Rajan Bhai, I too think it is better to buy (used) Corby from Dr.Muffy as he is promising the ev-do activation part.. It is very difficult to activate ev-do in web-worlds even now, as many CC guys and WW guys have very little idea about OMH cards and let alone activating EV-DO...

Oh... Good.. Now I can understand the behind the screen activities... Even I have heard one such scheme for Vodafone in TN, whereas the rent is Rs120 all v2v calls FREE and all Locals @ 25p, First 600 Local/National SMS FREE and comes with Rs100 FREE usage .. I got news that, it was part of corp connection of size 2000+ users and I will get bills by that corp name.. I rejected their offer (espewcially for their name issue)..

It is always better to avoid Rebranded Chinese phones and yes MVL is yet another one.. And the Push services they promises doesn't seems as good as for Business Email standards... Ajay bhai, please enquire well first and then proceed to buy..

This was entertainment focused handset and another similar handset was released for business users @ the same time with qwerty keyboard and model number is M600 Features are ditto to w950, except the presence of qwerty KB, in which 2 keys are joined as one button.. Means "QW" is found in one button and if you press that button's left corner, "Q" will come and if you press the button's right corner, "W" will come.. (Means NO NEED TO PRESS TWICE the key for 'W' like in NokiaE55, a half-qwerty device)

Well... very few choices are there nowadays, if you want a decent GSM phone without Camera (other than Blackberry) for example Basic handsets from Nokia, SE, Samsung, etc.. I suggest him to go for BB8830 (either GSM or Imported CDMA with GSM Unlocked as sold in our forum by Gurus).. Else going for budget phones is the only way..

Raccoon Bhai.. Thats why I usually recharge with Rs200/- (always having FullTT) for my RGsm numbers.. But what I find difficult is exhausting the PromoTT (Rs20.6) within 7 days of Recharge and that too due to current condition of RGsm network..

Well the name of the plan itself says "ULTA".. So 50p Local charges is understandable (that is why it is ULTA).. But the real CATCH here is the applicability of the 30p STD, which is for the first 600 minutes ONLY...

The only good solution is sending out non-performing employees (BSNL has much much more number of employees than needed) and recruiting new and talented young staffs (see the pvt telcos) to boost sales and mainly SERVICE... But, a rather BIG BUT, this is NOT GONNA HAPPEN in PSU... Lets NOT forget that, our Telc0mMinister also has a huge part in current condition of BSNL...
