Tata is closing down towers where there is low utilisation. I have been using two CDMA postpaid connections since 2008. Since 29th July, both phones went dead. After repeated calls to customer care with no response, I escalated matter to ROM Appellate. Two days back, I received a phone call from 01206718140 stating that CDMA service has been shut down. When I stated that CDMA has not been shut down & I get full network coverage when I travel 12 km in any direction, he admitted that particular tower has been shut down due to low utilisation.

In Kolhapur, Maharashtra, I also faced this problem with phone number ported from tata docomo to Vodafone. Number was activated & was deactivated as address was not found by Vodafone employee. Lost a valuable no. for 90 days & then reactivated it again with Tata Docomo. Hats off to Tata Docomo, which verified address & activated number within 2 hours after allotting sim. I'm using CMO 299 Plan with 1000 local & STD minutes & 200 MB data free. I have addons, on one connection, Rs. 43 for 2 GB & other connection, Rs 98 for 5 GB data. I also have T-T free calling for Rs 100 per month. Sent from my XT1526 using Tapatalk

In Maharashtra, Tata indicom provides excellent network. I have two postpaid connections. Though, sales personnels direct customers towards GSM, once u show interest in CDMA, they do provide good info & prevailing offers. I have brought Moto E 2015 Boost (XT 1526) running 5.0.2. The person who sold me this phone told me that hotspot is not working, but everything else will work. Now while going through this thread, I came across posts which mention steps to enble hotspot through online activation. But when I put MEID No, following msz displays - There was a problem with the MEID/ESN provided. Double-check it was entered correctly and try again. Otherwise, please call Customer Care. So, will hotspot will not be enabled on this handset or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks everyone for sound advice. It's really pleasure to have so many prompt replies to any question asked in this forum. In bygone days, when I was penniless, I needed a cheap Internet connection & my then girlfriend & now wife gifted me 1x reliance dongle. Since I had lot of queries, I used to Google for answers & rim Web was in first few results. This made me join this forum. Thereafter, as phone bills mounted, we both started to look for cheaper options. At that time, Tata indicom offered solace & cost of two new handsets, sims & security deposit was equal to my one month's gsm bill. Again my girlfriend footed the bill & I got one more reason to surf rimweb. Lot of water has flown under Bridge. Thanks to her steadfast support, I have earned enough to offer her a good life & richly comforts. Now, she is at a place where only Tata indicom gives good coverage with crystal clear voice clarity & hence I reactivated old Tata indicom sim & asked ur help to choose a good handset to gift her. This again made me to return to rimweb & to my surprise, found this forum not only alive but thriving despite cdma technology losing steam all over India. CDMA is indeed much better in terms of voice clarity. As I use both technologies simultaneously in same ambience, the difference is much more noticeable. As far as call rates are concerned, CDMA is much cheaper than GSM, particularly for heavy users like me & this forces me to return to CDMA technology again & again. Unfortunately, the lack of OMH's coupled with costly & pathetic handsets provided by CDMA companies have dimmed the future of this technology. As I have been looking various alternatives in market, most of the handsets are either carrier locked or need some programming, leaving very few options to choose from. Unless cdma companies provide good subsidised handsets with long term contract or mobile phone manufacturers bring out multiple devices in every price range, the future looks bleak. I have been using Samsung Galaxy 3 for more than 2 months. It runs on android Claire 2.1. I use BSNL postpaid SIM. Lately, I have been faced with strange problem. Whenever, I have been using internet, my mobile services are stopped. If someone tries to call me, they are being told that my number is switched off or moved off coverage area. since last 2 weeks, i have been facing Error connecting Netconnect CDMA 1x on zte mg 880+ wireless modem. every time, i connect internet using bundled software, i get error saying remote computer did not respond. after trying for 20-30 times, i get successful in connecting internet. i reinstalled the software, thinking it might be software problem & rechecked windows network config without any success. am i the only one facing this problem or anyone, perticularly living near karad in maharashtra has been facing this problem. unfortunately, CC people are not acknowledging that their network might be facing problem.
