Even I thought CDMA was a battery drainer and GSM my battery life would be better. But on CDMA my battery easily lasted 12-14 hrs, but on GSM 3G battery is finished off in 6-7 hrs, to save battery I switch to Edge but even then it lasts barely 10 hrs! My usage hasn't changed so its really weird that it finishes of so soon. Getting an extended 3500mah battery now for my long trips where I don't need to keep charging the phone so often.

Howz the battery life for folks using Photon on GSM? My CDMA battery life was more superior to GSM barely lasts 8-9 hours on GSM. On CDMA it lasted easily close to 14 hours !! __________________________________ Tapatalk2'd from JellyMoPhoBean

Sorry dude, hardly have used my photon in GSM mode so not sure what could be the problem! Does it happen only with samsung headphones or all headphones ?
-
First explain what did you do with the phone.were you trying to flash a ROM? I had a similar problem once with my phone when I was flashing the stock sbf. It was because the flashing did not complete properly when I tried it last time. Are you on a CM10 based ROM ? Some of them have issues with the headphone jack. __________________________________ Tapatalk2'd from JellyMoPhoBean __________________________________ Tapatalk2'd from JellyMoPhoBean

Which one did you try? Jokers CM10 or Th3Bill's CNA or AKOP ? Im trying out CNA, video cam works albeit a little slow! *Sigh* wish Moto pushed their official updates a little sooner :/

I'm staying from 2.3.5 because I'm currently here :-
-
Doesn't work for me. Say my 2.3.4 is up to date No update needed at the time. LoL This update kills unlock, so does that mean if your phone is currently "unlocked" it will get relocked OR does this mean now we cannot unlock it? There is a way to unlock the bootloader in photon 4g.what this basically means is that, you can install custom roms on your photon 4g. When you update to 2.3.5 it kills the root and locks your bootloader again.this is the unlock that we are talking about. Sent from my MB855 using Tapatalk 2 I'm already unlocked and running ICS 4.0.4 But i'm flashing back to stock till the official Moto ICS is out. So was thinking of updating to 2.3.5 till then, but if this update kills unlock then I will just sit on 2.3.4 for now

After moving to ICS MiUi ROM I am unable to go into BP tools mode It worked earlier when I was on stock ROM. Can't find anything on the net for it as well. Neither the dialler in MiUi allows me to ##DATA#. Anyone have any ideas?

Hello everyone, I am having a very weird issue. My phone has lost data/voice service and it just shows that its on roaming. Was running on stock rom all this while. So to decided to flash to ICS. Steps that were done (as shown on the XDA threads) :- 1. Latest 198_7 sbf was loaded 2. Bootloader was unlocked 3. Recovery mod was installed 4. Flashed to Th3Bill's MiUi v4 rom Now I don't have any voice/data connectivity. Can you please help me restore the connectivity back. I am Android noob. This was done by fellow RImweb'ian krispuniq and even he's confused as to why the voice/data was lost after the flash.

Update: Got back to Bangalore, and still getting 1x. Tried updating the PRL again, but no change. And I am unable to *228 as well! All the above mentioned problems still persist! -
After trying juice defender and a few other battery apps I personally found 2x battery to be the best. Additionally it also gives battery remaining percentage numbers.

Well new issue now. Since I am travelling this weekend I decided to just go with the stock sbf to just get over the issues I was having with miui so as usual after flashing the NAM settings were lost. So I did the usual PrL dump+NV items dump+Nam settings dump since now I have a backup of everything from the previously well known good configuration! Well now everytime I restart my phone it takes a while and sayfs contacting network afterwhich I get the sprint message failed to activate the phone! But the network is working fine...and Iam also getting a notification mobile Ip registration error-67 mobile node failed authentication... And I am getting only CDMA 1x in Hyderabad Any idea what is the issue? -

Been searching all morning for the workaround for getting MiUi to recognize my internal storage.. Nothing seems to be working! Will go back to stock SBF if I can't find a fix for this...!! So much for custom roms.. -

Biggg Update! - A HUGE shout out to Hetal bhai for his awesome awesome help! The phone connected back up to Reliance with his help - Another big Thank you to Krispuniq, MatriX1218 & akhileshril 1. After I had updated to stock SBF, PRL/NV update. The phone got activated with Hetal bhai's help. 2. Did the one click root. 3. Unlocked bootloader 4. Installed recovery, and then updated to joker's v3 recovery 5. Used the wipe all photon zip file, but that failed and after that the phone stopped booting. So did manual format for system, data, cache and dalvik cache. 6. Installed the MiUi ROM, twice as mentioned in the instructions And voila.. I have 'Ice Cold Sandwich' :D Ok I have one issue, well two infact! 1. File explorer can't detect my internal storage. I know this is off the context of the thread starting, but has anyone got any idea about how to fix this? I need to restore back all my apps 2. Background data is enabled where? After gingerbread can't find it? -
Motorola Photon - No Service After Flash

Update ok a little relief but problem is not sorted out! 1. Flashed back the stock 198_7 sbf. 2. After that the phone was stuck in booting, so did a full wipe from the stock recovery. 3. Now flashed the 198_7 sbf again. 4. Figured out the COM port busy issue and managed to connect the phone to CDMA WS/NV/QPST 5. Wrote the PRL onto the phone with CDMA WS and wrote the NV items using NV writer. 6. Rebooted the phone, it takes a lot of time for after boot in 'Contacting Network' and then says fails to enable network. 7. Now it shows network, but not able to call any where/send messages. Can someone tell me how do I figure out the MIN ? And in CDMA WS NAM tab the 'Dir_number' should be my number right? PS: COM port busy issue - The trick is to connect to the COM port immediately after the PC detects the phone, else the it will show COM port busy. And well there was no need to flash back old sbf, it was all working fine just had to figure out the working out of connected CDMA WS. PS2: In the custom rom dialer i.e. the MiUi rom, I was unable to get into the ##3282# mode. Any inputs on that? -

Tried that with same results yesterday. I restarted the system after the port number change and that also did not help. Now on office pc, can't run CDMA WS as its detecting it a virus! -
