Hi Amtrag, Hope you are doing fine. I do visit this site if not as frequently as I used before mainly due to the reason I have left Reliance services long back. I am hoping one day Reliance comes up with great looking devices such as HTC Jasjam with affordable EV-DO services; may be that time we can see lots of activities here. But the way Anil Ambani moves, it looks like he is happy making billions with his old trash.

Anything which directly plugged into your ears can cause damage to your hearing capabilities on the long run. Ear phones or BT headsets are not natural phenominon. If you are going to talk for few minutes using the phone, it may be fine; but if you are going to use headphones (BT or wired) for more than 10-15 minutes continuously and consistently on the long run, then chances of eardrums getting affected are more. It must be noted that Mobile phones or any phones must be used as a medium to convey message than as a platform for communication! We can test this by talking to some experienced young IT/BPO/Call Center folks; more than anything else mobile phones have become disease instead of helping people connected.

Looks like babus and politicians (UPA) mulling on how much they can make out of this spectrum allocation process! Maran has cleverly put the BSNL on the lurches so that his own company Aircel can quickly catch-up with the market. This is one of the reasons why he force BSNL NOT to proceed with procurement process which would enable BSNL to scale up its operations. Now those potential new customers are moving to Aircel.

There are numerous ways available. It depends on the objectives of the Organization. If it is going to be an ODC model then it is better to go with a vendor who has already specialized in that model. BOT model where you can collaborate with a local partnership and gradually get a firm foot in India then start operate on your own. This model fits only if you are planning to expand your business in India may not fit if you want to just outsource your work from US. Examples: ING, AIG, Fidelity, Pepsi etc… If the American company wants to open its off-shore development center on its own in India, it can be done so as Private Ltd company which provides you greater freedom but requires some specialization on labor laws which can be obtained thru some HR Consulting companies or by employing a professional HR department. If the size of the organization is relatively stable and does not expect to grow, it can work out strategy where an existing organization in India can provide all necessary services exclusively for the US based company. Basically, you can insist this Indian based company NOT to venture on any other business activities. Capital expenditure would be very less and even if you plan to leave this arrangement, it would be less expensive.

I really doubt whether Indian subscribers need 8 Mbps speed! Even if they offer this speed for small business segment still there will be an upload/download cap for sure. Most of the Indian providers are like that and BSNL is known for its legacy mind-set.

Tata Free Incoming On Roam Regulated !
Ramchi replied to anuragz's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
These marwaris Tatas, birlas, Bajajs, godhrejs have been selling inferior products (due to their incapability than anything else) and ****ing Indians blood all along. Now Mittals and Ambanis have joined this list with their pathetic service. What else you can expect from these blood ****ing guys? Unfortunately, there is no other Indian business men with integrity and sincerity out there. Indian citizens have been taken for a ride by these greedy and substandard service providers. But probably we Indian citizens deserve even worse. -
As far my understanding goes it generates only electricity NOT heat! Since the output of the electrolite process is water, cooling process will not be that difficult (if over heating is an issue). Only issue with Fuel Cell was large scale distribution of fuel cell and performance in terms of how long each refuel lasts.

Vodafone bags Hutch for US$ 19.3 Billion !
Ramchi replied to sanket55555's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
Many people like me bought WCDMA phones thinking that our network will provide Broadband speed etc...in India. The reality is 3G will become outdated by the time it is rolledout in India. Soon we will be seeing Mobile phones with WiMax capable which will be sold in India at higher price. Again, people like me thinking ahead of the game will keep on investing futuristic premium handsets. The reality is even for EDGE services Chennai customers are paying exhorbitant rates unlike customers from other states. Since government is going to eat its pie in spectrum charges, operators may take more than 10 years to recover the investment. This will ensure that Indian consumers will get to see 4G, 5G etc... only on paper. -
I heard Aeon is using 'Fuel Cell' Technology for powering the device. No more batteries instead look for methonol!

Vodafone bags Hutch for US$ 19.3 Billion !
Ramchi replied to sanket55555's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
I am not a network techie but there are signals coming out that 3G in India will be waste of time. Already, BSNL is testing its ground on WiMax in all metros. What I heard was 3G is not as efficient as WiMax and in many European & Developed countries not many customers was willing to pay more for 3G services. Since providers have purchased spectrum at a very high price, most of the 3G oriented services are not affordable for the common man. Countries like India where customers are very sensitive towards price will not mind skipping 3G and prefer to go to WiMax. I will not be surprised if this happens in the future. -
I have been using UL900 Plus and I am not seeing any significant increase or decrease of speed after this 2Mbps upgrade came into effect. I am not sure how people say BSNL reduced speed and all….

It should have been named as “Year for LIMITED Broadband!”. Few years back (around 2003) I have used 512Kbps thru some vendor who has now merged with VSNL/Tata. They gave 2 GB as limit for Rs 1500 or so…but without downloading any movies or anything, we could surpass 3.5 GB casually. I can imagine the plight of BSNL users browsing with cruising speed for about a month then start looking at their meters! All the very best!

"Like I am in Pune If There are 10,000 People with Unlimited Bandwidth with 2 MBPS and everybody start Using it thoroghly the Overall Pipe of BSNL from Pune to Mumbai will be Blocked" When 10,000 people with limited Bandwidth access internet with 2 Mbps also can cause similar problems.

In my opinion most of the UL customers may not be reaching even 1 GB limit per month. Only those who are new to Internet or those who have baught PC for the first time may be spending as suggested by SPDF, that too during initial period. Even if we have to download 100 GB per month, there is nothing wrong in it unless this is being used for anti-national activities. As communities & society getting nuclear, people will not share their resources with others even if they are from the same family fearing resentment among them.

Why would any one go to Cyber Cafe if common man gets what he wants? What is the use of Cyber cafe btw? It is ridiculous for any one to keep looking at their data limits while browsing at 2 Mbps! It is like driving a Ferrari in Sahara desert with 20 liter fuel tank. You would reach 200 miles in one hour then look for expensive Gas station!

After reading all the news items this is NOT after all a great move by BSNL instead mere PR stunt. What is the use of giving great speed with download/upload cap? You may end up consuming quicker and may pay more than what you used to pay before! Apparently, they do not offer this speed for Home Unlimited or Unlimited Plus (i have taken up the later) so the entire hopla about increasing the speed is totally a farce. As usual Maran a typical of DMK men who tell something and actually mean something else, especially his grandpa!

Couple of months back I took unlimited BSNL pack with one year subscription where you get 2 months as free! If they upgrade this service to 2 Mpbs then it is great! BSNL can still provide 256 Kpbs unlimited for Rs 400; this way broadband is affordable for common Indian public. Average India is not really benefited of paying Rs 1000 for unlimited access and it is really stupid idea to charge customer based on the size of the content in the internet world where you are forced access unknown entities across the globe. I can understand if they charge based on time but size is unrealistic. How the hell a customer when browsing a website whether it is downloading contents of huge sizes or not?

Any Radiation Harm Due To Bluetooth Headset
Ramchi replied to jigshot1's topic in Reliance Communications
Actually, I have seen articles recommand using BT instead of Mobile Phones to reduce radiation risks. -
I can see this handset appearing in the Reliance Web site, though I would not buy this handset because Nokia is exiting CDMA market.
-
As I had mentioned earlier. My guess is that Reliance might release this during August'2006. Because it released Nokia 6255 only on August'2005. Since Reliance may be bulk ordering these phones, if it introduces new models quickly, it may have to forgo its older phones for which Reliance would have made their payments. Getting frequent higher end handsets in CDMA will be a distant dream for sometime. If the new model is Nokia you need to wait for one year before the product gets stabilized with patches or with some other issues. Hope I have guessed it almost correctly about 6 months back!

There are IndiaOne plans available from GSM operators especially prepaid ones where if you pay Rs 1100 you get Rs 750 worth @ Rs 1.00 per minute calls plus 1008 local SMS. As far as Handsets are concerned there are so many: If you want PDA phones go for IMATE, HP...If you want Camera Phones then Nokia and SE are better choices. I am not familiar with Motorola & other brands. Nokia N70/80/91 are some of the better phones where N70/N80 may look similar to 6265. Nokia 6680 may be cheaper by now. If you can wait for Mobile Phone camcorder then go for N93.

Why I Won't Go For The Razr Cdma Or Rather Any High Priced Handset For That Matter.
Ramchi replied to gids's topic in Motorola
I wont blame you for doing this. Me too was a reliance post paid customer for almost 18 months then changed to prepaid for one month got a taste of their prepaid service plus Nokia 6255 problems. Finally I sold my handset (replaced by Nokia with new one) and got away at the right time. I am not tied to Reliance any more. After seeing their latest moves like entering GSM etc...I think I have done the right thing at the right time I believe! -
Blackberry handsets are too expensive for normal Indian users. There is no justfication for high cost Blackberry handsets in India. They are damn cheap in US. More over, recently Nokia has come up with E61 which is bit more advanced than best Blackberry handsets. I really doubt whether Blackberry handsets have memory expansion slots available but surprised to see their price tags in the Indian market.

These guys from Qualcomm may try some cheap American tricks by offering Hawai holiday package to Anil Ambani and passify him to pay more to Qualcomm! A big nasty fart is more than sufficient to get these guys out of the court.

Reliance Communication To Enter Gsm Services
Ramchi replied to abhay's topic in Reliance Communications
Reliance must quit the dead-end & expensive CDMA where Qualcomm is expecting Indians to pay more for nothing! Even otherwise Qualcomm is not going to go bankrupt. They are anyway going to make more money thru W-CDMA.
