blackberry devices are rock solid . performs the job of email very well. i will get message first on blackberry(push email ) then on the outlook or email client. and battery lasts really long . rough n tough device . browsing will be slow even in EVDO here in US. i have installed company mail , yahoo , gmail accounts and skype , yahoo messenger ,gtalk on my BB 8703e . i am working as oracle dba , without blackberry my work is impossible and i will be inaccessible to clients in weekends . i have tried windows mobile phones which are version 5 , they are slow , strucks sometimes , have to reboot sometimes . if like your workdone go for blackberry . or if you like it as a fancy device go for windows mobile phones .

blackberry devices 8703e and 8830 are impossible to change ESN . if can get spc of thease phones for verizon its is 000000 and spirnt is locked . you can use with tata in india as they accept international phones in their network . but you cannot get email plan as tata's did not get license to offer blackeberry service in India.

I Assume that the TATA indicomm walky lsp 350 cable works for this phone too . they are selling for 150 only and in outside market u can get it for 90 . why do u want make a data cable which gives you very less margin . THINK BIG MAN.

hi all us cdma phones are compatible with reliance , tata , bsnl - tarang , mtnl garuda and the new one Virgin mobile . Tata openly configures imported phones . virgin also offers the same . Reliance does not offer this . but if u get a phone model like ppc 6700 and 6800 u can add ruim slot and use reliance. By the way You can get PPC 6700 and 6800 at cheaper price which are esn blocked can be used in india by adding ruim slot or changing ESN. Need any help u can contact me . came to US in december .

Hi !! I imported 2 PPC 6700 from China cost me $260 per piece plus other cost like courier & customs. I got both handsets RUIM enabled and was easy to activate on Reliance network by inserting RUIM card. But interestingly both were 'Verizon' branded. Nevertheless quality was very good and came box packed. Raj hi vikas, raju imported them pre ruim enabled from china.

hi my option is go for BSNL DATA CARDS monthly rental of 250 for unlimited internet no download limits. u dont hav to purchase u get it on rental basis of 200 only. so the monthly connection fee amounts to be 500. if u dont have laptops buy pci pcmcia card slot for PC. the data card will not support roaming it will work only in their respective towns.

hi me to face the same problem with the 5340 mobile. the prob is not with the cable , its with the phone which dosent suppport direct usb as it doesnt have usb option in data settings. where as even 5130 has usb option i used the same cable with 5130 it works fine but not with 5340. so the solution is buy a usb to serial converter cable or a serial cable . the usb to serial converter cable is usb cable with chip in it so u can connect to usb port but while installing u should choose some serial port which it shows. hv fun enjoy. at present scenario i dont suggest Rconnect unless ur traveling .the other option is take a data card from bsnl and it is 300 rs unlimted /month. check it out with bsnl. regards praveen

In USA both SPRINT and VZW dont support RUIM based phones yet. Ill suggest TEJA to go for any phone SPRINT offering as they give u latest phones and on contract u get it cheap. We are dying to import used phones from USA and u talking about buying from here. Ill suggest u to buy one VZW xv6700 and program it on SPRINT. Else its all ur choice. hi i suggest u to buy lg rd 6500 its fully compatiable with both verizon n sprint carriers n available at 5500 only, even in us they provide this model on cotract basis but its costly so better go for lg rd 6500 or anyther lg models as they are easy to program for the respective services providers . evdo stands for evolution data optimised is a technolgy which supports a theortical data speeds of up to 2mbps speed. in US this technoligy is giving minium of 700kbps internet bandwidth , so same can be possible here also but it takes ages for us to get such speeds in india

yeah vikky ur right we can buy a mobile which supports true usb interface like lg 5130 or ... which gvies good speed n will also hav the convinince of mobile too . then there's no use of buying usb card . p.s its my opinion.

@ganesh Yes my dear friend you are absolutely right. The speed of Reliance net nowadays is very to very very bad. I don't think it's a good deal at Rs.4200/-. hi deepu i use voipcheap.com to make free calls to us (land & mobile) uk landline and many more countires for free unlimited minutes with a service charge of only 10 euros for 60 days. u can setup ur voipcheap account in linksys pap2 , so that they can call ur landphone in uk . only thing is that it doesnt offer phone number. so only calling from inida is posible and its free to uk landline number. i hv tried with bsnl and airtel broadband both worked pefectly with linksys pap2. im using it to call my freinds in US ,uk and austraila for the past 4 months. - praveen

i think this mobile wont work in reliance as the mobile works in 850 and 1900 mhz at present reliance operates on 800 mhz at present it will not be possible to work with reliance with the above imported handset unless reliance upgrades to 1900mhz band correct me if i am wrong regards prawin
