  4. Reliance GSM In New Delhi

Though I am not from Delhi, I have travelled few times from airport to ghaziabad. The signal is pretty bad with low/no network signal in some places enroute. Also, the signal keeps on fluctuating during the conversation which will further drain the battery. The signal also becomes weak inside the buildings.

  11. May be you can try the samsung touch screen mobiles like Monte...Samsung have good speaker volume..atleast with what I have seen with a couple of models...Nokia always hangs or is slow...I have E72 which sometimes hangs & is very slow as well. Like earlier posted, hanging seems to be an inbuilt feature in Nokia. the only thing which is good in Nokia is battery, battery & ...battery. You get verygood battery life inspite of using many applications..
  12. Samsung Mpower Muzik 219 Cdma

this model was launched a couple of months back. This is also there in their web site. The manual does not indicate any thing abt the WAP/Java. So, assume this to be only a music phone.
  13. u can try the samsung duos which is around 6.5 K. Since it is samsung, u can expect some life. However the manual says internet can be accessed only in GSM. so, if CDMA is only for voice, you can surely go for this handset. pls go through the manual before purchasing. However, the battery standby time for all dual sim handsets will be less..around 2 days, though you can expect decent talk time
  14. Samsung's Mpower Muzik 219 And Duos 259

Had a chance to work with this handset for abt half an hour (courtesy my friend). Initial impression is as below: * Hand set size is slightly big considering it to be candy bar phone. * Both the sims work..but i could not find the option for selecting the sim manually when dialling/messaging. it selects the default sim. (in 619, it gives a secondary option of selecting the sim, though the default is bulleted) * Internet cannot be accesed by CDMA, though it is OMH. In manual also, it is given as only GSM for all the email, internet options. * Battery is 1140 mah. So, ideally should come 2 days standby & may be 3~3.5 hrs talk time. * the screen goes blank immeditaly on call connection (similar to corby) inspite of selecting long backlight time. People who have used Nokia may/maynot like this. This feature is to increase battery backup. * UI slightly difficult when compared to NOKIA. * charger is same as corby, so expect high charge time.
  15. Samsung's Mpower Muzik 219 And Duos 259

Just one doubt...the dealer informed that internet can be accessed through OMH sim..however, the spec says GPRS. can any one confirm whether internet can be accessed by CDMA
  16. Samsung's Mpower Muzik 219 And Duos 259

i checked with samsung dealers in bangalore...he was ready to give at 6700. the phone looked slightly volumnouos (in lenght & width, but thickness was OK)..may be due to screen size 2.2 inch....phone color was brown & there is a silver strip in center for the menu & call buttons, which may not be to every one's taste.
  17. Samsung's Mpower Muzik 219 And Duos 259

which WW is it available in bangalore & any idea of the cost.....
  18. couple of them already in rcom site....i am sure these will not last even 6 months....
  19. Going To Buy Reliance Gsm

Any idea how is it in Karnataka....
  20. TATA is marketing it as "DOCOMO" which is & sounds different from their CDMA service which is marketed as TATA CDMA service. this has struck in peoples mind. whereas reliance is marketing both CDMA & GSM together & hence there is no USP in their marketing strategy for GSM. also, since most of the people prefer GSM, they are seeing something different in DOCOMO & are opting for it.
  21. Low end CDMA handset experiences

Yes. the charging time is the only biggest draw back in these handsets. it takes close to 5 hrs to fully charge the battery. if i am correct, the earlier release 3000/3100 had the regular round pin chargers and used to take approx 3 hrs. is there any rapid chargers available for this.
  22. Low end CDMA handset experiences

i am using 6275 from 2.5 years. had "hanging" probem initially. after servicing, it is working fine except for battery back up also. my 3600 is 2 years old without any issues.
  23. Person Killed In Mobile Battery Explosion

Hope not.... any electrical/electronics guys...pls give ur opinion
  24. In my opinion, service providers are not thinking abt expansion in CDMA due to the following reasons. 1. Handset options - GSM has very wide range of handsets- low range, multimedia phones, high end phones, buisiness phones (basically all dominated by NOKIA). CDMA has very little options (apart from what is being brought & sold thro rimweb). this will attract any buyer 2. Handset price- on comparison, the same spec will cost less than CDMA. 3. option of changing the service provider (only samsung has come now) 4. Coverage issues ( in some places) 5. World roaming for corporate people-in CDMA one may have to change the handset (now there are dual sim handsets coming..but are very cheap & poor in quality except BB world edition) All the above negatives are there which many people will not like. so they make compromise for voice clarity & opt for GSM. this is making the service providers to go to GSM
