  1. I bought a virgin mobile yesterday night..for 2500.. clamshell.. looks nice. Starter pack comes in a CD pouch like.. Similiar to TATA, they provide u a SIM.. That virgin mobile sim can be used in any open market handset.. I used it on my spice d-88 dual gsm/cdma. Worked fine. But i was unable to use my TATA sim on the virgin mobile handset. It said invalid sim. So if u can get Virgin SIM alone, it can be used in any open market CDMA handset. But if u buy a handset from virgin, u can use only virgin sim in that.. For incoming calls(other than from customer care) u wil be credited Rs.10p for 60 seconds or if ur call is only for 30 seconds then 5 paise or even 3 paise depending on the duration of ur incoming call.. Prorata basis. The total incoming amount for the day will be credited on the next day morning. U will also receive an sms on how much amount is credited for the day.
  2. Motorola Cdma Handset

If u read the Tata Indicom MotoRazr V3c Advertisement carefully, u can notice the words - "MotoRazr V3C EXCLUSIVELY with tata indicom". Thats it.
  3. R-uim Into Gsm Handset

Whatever happens, u cannot use reliance cdma network in ur GSM phone.. May be if reliance has an agreement with local gsm networks(***Highely unlikely***), the ruim may work in ur gsm phone.. but u have to log on to airtel or hutch or other gsm networks.. definitely not reliance cdma.. After all RUIM is like a sim card.. it can store whatever data needed.. So if reliance has an agreement with airtel (***Highely unlikely***), if u put reliance ruim in a gsm phone, may be v can use airtel network.. but not reliance cdma
  4. 1 Yr Validity Full Tktime 20p/min To Walky/mobile

Dont confuse Gomax starter pack and 1500 recharge voucher which also changes tariff... Also dont confuse reliance STV with Tata tariff vouchers.. becos relaince STVs only change tariff... tata tariff vouchers are just recharge vouchers that also change tariff (Like rel 440RCV). Gomax 1499Rs. starter pack has 999 days validity. Talktime is 100 only. Thats different. 1499 tariff voucher is a recharge voucher for existing users that gives full talktime, 365 days validity and also changes the tariff to gomax starter pack.
  5. All New Samsung Hero Launched On Indicom

I am actually using this phone now. battery is great. The best thing is the rich glossy look and the bright white screen. A big change from the dull reliance lg. One small disadvantage is that due to glossy finish, fingerprints are noticable in daylight. About the anti theft feature, there is a mobile tracker menu which needs to be enabled(protected by password). It works like this.. Suppose someone stole ur phone. (Hopefully u enabled the mobile tracking appln. before). Now the thief would definitely put a new T-sim in it. The phone will then send an sms from the new t-sim to 2 preprogrammed numbers(set by u before) thereby allowing u to know the number of the thief. This sms will be sent without the knowledge of the thief by the phone itself.
  6. All New Samsung Hero Launched On Indicom

I just got one now.. Dont know abt the use of all these anti theft features.. But the handset is a beauty. Bright white display, large screen, nice tones, easy to use keypad (easy to press),.... At Rs.1499 it is worth every rupee.. A good change after seeing multiple copies of reliance lg 2340 phones.
  7. All about LG 2630

Does lg 2630 support Rconnect? If not what phone can i buy with a minimum price tag that supports rconnect?
  8. Airtel Merges Mumbai-maharashtra Circle

Very very slow merger.. TN-Chennai circles was merged long back.. to be exact- on may 25th 2005.. the same day calls between paired circles became local, similiar merger took place.. Wonder why it took 1 full yr to do the same in mah-mumbai
  9. All good things must come to an end... This is the trick almost every business follows.. So many offers are given so that u get addicted to those and then they remove it.. Because of ur addiction u will choose the next best available at some higher rate.. Every offer will come to an end someday.. even the 180 sms card will vanish someday.. Be prepared for it.. Its up to us not to get addicted..
  10. I completely agree with the point made by jusmail.. Every network has its customer care problems.. I have used every single n/w in TN and chennai.. Beleive it or not.. RIM is the best in terms of Quality of the Network. (No congestion at all) Coming to customer care, RIM website has 1. The list of nodal officers with their addresses and phone numbers 2. Online customer service form 3. Service Assurance cell 4. Finally.. Chairmans cell Is there any other network which gives the prepaid subcriber access beyond customer care (via phone)?? I have had a lot of problems with Hutch and Airtel... I had the least of problems with RIM.. There is no discussion forum for any other operator.. So the grievances go unnoticed.. For example.. i narrate my experience wit Hutch CC.. Everyone knows the facility in rediff.com where a person can dedicate a ringtone to another.. by just sending the tone code along with his friends mobile number to 7333. Now who should be billed???? By all means, the person who is dedicating the tone must be billed.. It was not so in my case.. Someone .. I repeat.. Some unknown person dedicated a tone to me and I was billed for it( Rs.7/tone)... I couldnt even know who dedicated it to me.. (that fault i think is rectified now).. I called Hutch CC.. their answers were 1. System under updation 2. U must have did it Sir.. U must have downloaded it.. Imagine i was being deducted Rs.7/tone continuosly and the CC says u did it.. Basically do they think that the customer is a fool and cannot even discriminate a simple point?? Went to Hutch Office (Direct hutch office in Alwarpet, chennai).. They too did not have an answer.. Had similiar experiences with airtel too. had the least of pblms with RIM.. What i am coming to say is that every network has its ups and downs..
  11. Even though reliance wouldnot be 2 happy at losing postpaid customers, the thing is that, even when u surrender all 7 connections, if u sell that 7 handsets to someone else, that other persons will ultimately have to put new GSK of reliance in those handsets. So if u surrender 7 connections, some 7 other persons will join reliance(Most probably). So, overall, there is no loss for reliance..(They do lose postpaid customers.. Bit its all in the game). This is the reason reliance wants to sell as many handsets as possible.. With all those Low price offers, full talktime equal to handset value,..... so many people are bound to buy new handsets.. Once a new handset is bought, some way or other it must be used in reliance network.. That subscriber may be u or someone else.. Overall, reliance customer base will not dwindle out easily..
  12. How To Unlock Motorola C113(gsm)

I recently bought a Motorola C113 handset bundled with hutch connection for Rs.1350. But it works with hutch network only.. If i insert some other simcard it says 'Enter Subsidy password'. Can someone help me to unlock it?? Local shops offer to unlock it for Rs.75. I am sure it is a simple procedure.. Can someone help???? I donot know if this topic is banned or allowed.. When other sites openly allow unlocking at some price, i thought this is ok to discuss and so i have posted here.. If this illegal, I am sorry.. Left to moderators. ------------------------------------------------------------------- I unlocked it locally.. The person took less than a minute.. Anyway, if someone knows the way and the software used, please post here.. Will be useful someday..
  13. BS Corporate Bureau in Mumbai | February 21, 2006 02:28 IST Lowering the entry-level for consumers in the telecommunications space, private telephony major Reliance Infocomm has cut the costs of handsets by a whopping 40 per cent for black and white instruments and 15 per cent for the colour-enabled ones. This follows the company's launch of the One India campaign and the SMS schemes. Reliance Infocomm also plans to launch an array of new handsets in the country. The company is offering its base model - an LG 2340 black and white handset - for Rs 1,500, a 40-per cent price cut from the previous Rs 2,500. The slash in prices range from handset to handset, with the overall reduction ranging from 15 to 40 per cent, according to sources in the company. Reliance is also offering a 15-per cent reduction on LG colour handsets, mainly for an LG 5340, which is available for Rs 4,500. After the 15-per cent reduction the price would come down to Rs 3,800, they said. A Reliance official said the pricing on other handset models was still being worked out. According to telecom analysts, the slash in handset prices will have a "great impact in the Indian market and this reduction will not only force leading handsets manufacturers like Nokia and Motorola to follow suit, but also propel the Indian market to a completely new and higher level of growth." Reliance Infocomm had earlier launched an India One scheme that offered calls for Re 1 across the country. The move helped the company in adding over one million subscribers each, in December 2005 and January 2006. At present, the rate of acquisitions in the Indian market is at four million new subscribers per month. With the latest initiative, Reliance expects the Indian market to catch up with its Chinese counterpart, with the net subscriber numbers reaching a figure of six million per month by the middle of this year. A Reliance Infocomm official said, "In the coming months, the company will launch a wide range of products, offering high value and quality to the consumers across all the segments. These would include low-end handsets as well as multimedia-enabled colour handsets, to leverage the capabilities of the CDMA data network".
  14. Hi everybody.. I am doing my M.E. in applied electronics.. I need to do a project for my final year.(Process control) Its about using scheduling algorithms (like Roundrobin, fn queue scheduling...) to better control a process (simulated using matlab....). I need to control the process using 4-5 algorithms(one by one) and compare the result of all.. The best one has to implemented in hardware and connected with that MATLAB simulation of the system.. The process must have some interrupts (4 to 5) and they must be assigned priorities... I am in need of a microcontroller simulator software (68HC11).. Does anyone know the sites where free download is available? Or have anyone done this multitasking pjt before?
  15. As per the information given by my local bsnl the handset is given FREE for the persons activating the 999 plan.. I think its like giving the telephone free for usage with our landline connection.. The phone may not be ours.. we can just use it.
  16. 5340 Story

Hi amitmk........ If i was in ur place I would have straight away called up to CC... And would complain about that particular WW with the agents name .... And as soon as I reach to home.. One mail to Chairman's Help desk ...... Theres nothing to complain here.. Reliance changes the price of handsets depending on its offers.. In case of LG5340, earlier, its price was Rs.3500 without any offers.. But now with that 2000+Rs talktime, its price has come up to 4300Rs.. Its normal practise by reliance..
  17. Even if the deadlines are missed, this one india regime can be expected very soon.. IT minister Mr.Dayanidi maran speaks about this in each and every function here in tamilnadu.. He will be present at every central govt. function like stone laying... and in every oppurtunity he speaks, he says one india tariff from "BSNL" (with preference to landlines that the common public still use) will come soon. This is an important point for their election campaign. So 100% sure, we can expect this regime before the election campaign starts.
  18. Reliance is not alone in this matter.. Every operator has a time for cutoff.. Tamilnadu and Chennai Aircel - around 30 min. Cellone - around 30 min TN BPL Mobile - Around 30 min RIM - exactly 1 hr.. Rather than blaming RIM, it can also be looked at some security feature. Lets say u didnot have ur keypads locked and accidentally some number was called.. Atleast the call will end in 30 min (If the other party didnt end it earlier).. Even if the mobile was stolen, we can definitely be happy (in some sense) that it cannot be used continuosly for more than 30 min... Or may be its the operators way of giving other callers a chance to speak in their network (Applicable to Highly congested networks at peak hours)..
  19. Bsnl Comes With Impossible!

Cost of card is Rs.1046 inclusive of sales tax
  20. Rimweb Meet - II

  21. Reliance Hacked?

I have experienced a lot of problems while using R connect. A lot of spywares come in. When i see the processes list, it is loaded with a huge number of spywares which keep on coming even if u end the process. Even if i manage to get rid of them, the next time i connect with RIM, they come back While its true any net connection is prone to spywares, I didnt have that pblm with my dialup. Only RIM offers spywares. may be thats a MONSOON offer.. who knows
