BSNL cell plan: STD at Re 1, local 60 p January 23, 2006 17:27 IST Uniform tariffs across India has not been announced yet, but Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd on Monday unveiled mobile STD rate of Re 1 and local call rate at 60 paise a minute with a monthly fixed charge of Rs 999 for its post-paid users for a 15 second pulse rate. The PSU has launched new plan for post-paid mobile service for a monthly fixed charge of Rs 999 bundling with a Cellone Axia A108 handset where customers will get free calls worth Rs 700. The plan has a registration charge in Rs 500 and a one-time activation charge of Rs 200, officials of the public sector telecom unit said. Under this plan, call charges for local calls within BSNL's own network both -- mobile-to-mobile and mobile-to-fixed is 60 paise while to other network it is Re 1 a minute. For STD (Inter Circle), the call charges are Re 1 a minute within its own network for calls to both its mobile and fixed networks while to other networks it is Rs 1.60 a minute. Since the handset is a Microsoft Windows CC.Net OS phone it has all advanced features like GPRS and MMS services for data and video downloads. Cellular operator Hutch offers mobile STD at Rs 1.32 a minute on a Rs 60 top-up card. Reliance Infocomm on Sunday offered free outgoing calls worth up to Rs 2,000 on some of its new handsets along with lower local and STD call charges. On buying a handset for Rs 2,700, a subscriber will get Rs 2,000 worth talktime for outgoing calls along with 2,000 local short messages (SMS) free. However, both these facilities had to be used within a period of nine months and there should be a minimum recharge of Rs 149 after two months from the date of subscription. This is the third time in the last three weeks that Reliance has announced a new tariff plan. Earlier announcements included outstation calls for Re 1 and flexible tariffs on fixed wireless phones. The tariffs would be 99 paise a minute for a local call from Reliance to Reliance phone and Rs 1.79 from Reliance to any other mobile. STD rate has been fixed at Rs 1.79 from Reliance to Reliance anywhere in the country and Rs 2.49 from Reliance to other phones. Prior to this, Reliance Infocomm had introduced a recharge voucher offering its pre-paid cellular customers a 15 paise-per-minute for calls to Reliance India Mobile phones within the circle. Calls to Reliance fixed phones would cost 40 paise and all other mobile phones will cost 40 paise as per the new scheme. Yahoo upgrades e-mail Source: The Hindu SUNNYVALE, NOV. 15. Yahoo Inc. is more than doubling its limits on free e-mail storage in its latest move to combat two of its biggest rivals, Google Inc. and Microsoft Corp. E-mail accountholders will get up to 250 megabytes of free storage effective Monday, up from 100 megabytes previously offered by the Sunnyvale-based Yahoo. The change follows Microsoft's recent decision to boost the free storage on its Hotmail service to 250 megabytes per account. Both Yahoo and Hotmail have dramatically increased their storage limits since Google rolled out its free e-mail service offering in April. The Google service, called Gmail, offers each accountholder up to 1,000 megabytes of e-mail storage. Yahoo is hoping the improvements will retain its current e-mail users and perhaps lure converts from other services.

oOpS i fOrGoT aBouT tHe mMs.... Now, this also part of my previous explanation... Like i told R-World is a portal which is Online.... As of now, i think there is no method to send images via SMS.... What actually happens in a MMS in GSM and in this case in Reliance CDMA... When i send an MMS... i store in the Serive provider's portal.... Here the MMS is stored in R-World portal... And you get an SMS of the link to the MMS in GSM.... In GSM you need to connect to GPRS and download it via WAP... and in Reliance you need to Connect to R-World and download it... Thats all... In Future, reliance is going to store it in a common portal so that it can be downloded by other service providers.... i.e we can send mms to other operators also....
-
Works fine for me.. in Reliance 7130... Sometimes that error occurs... Just try to access it again....

For all rimweb members info..... There is a Open Source project called libmailer.... available at sourceforge.net..... 'libmailer' is a tool to access various modules of GMail... like Inbox, Outbox, Labels....etc. I have just given a front end for the to libmailer.... so that we can access Gmail through WAP.... Swaroop actually, i am now using GSM... And i wanted to access GMail on my WAP... so i created that.... I thought it would be useful for others also... So i have shared the link.... Thats my own site...

Yup Dude.... R-World is a s/w made by reliance techies in J2ME... Its just a software which comes pre-installed in phones given by reliance.... We need to install the software in our phones if we need to access R-World in any other handset... So Other Service providers cannot provide it....This s/w is similar to applications which we install in Sybian Based GSM Phones... like Nokia 6600,3660,3650...etc... R-World is similar to that... When u start R-World it uses the modem ( *228) inbuilt in the phone to connect to R-World Menu... In General, R-World is a portal designed in J2ME... and the menus are just like Web Pages similar to those of WML.... So, By default... R-World connects u to R-World Homepage.... The Platform is same... and R-World Home page is also same... But the difference is for different handsets it appears different... For Ex., conider our board itself... (rimweb.com) i can change the skin over here... and that skin only applies to me... Similarly, the preinstalled R-World in our handset shows us only the handset is capable of showing.... this is all i know.... If anyone knows more.. do post...
