Updated : Imported Handsets Without Imei Code Will Be Banned In India By 6 January !
situ1962 replied to spknair's topic in Indian Telecom / General News
The govt should make it mandatory for all service providers to block all such handsets which don't have a genuine and unique imei number.that was those phones will become simple toys only or at best mp3 players. -
Updated : Imported Handsets Without Imei Code Will Be Banned In India By 6 January !

So far as i know IMEI is a must for each and every mobile handset manufactured by any company.if the chinese companies are selling handsets without giving a unique IMEI no to every phone then how were they allowed to be sold here in the first place?this should be stopped with immediate effect. -
IT'S really a very sad day for all of us.when ever such incidents happen then only we think about security.also IT'S very very difficult for the police or anybody to track those miscreants before hand.but IT'S really a very very serious thing.unless the loopholes in our laws are plugged and very stringent actions are taken against those ATANK UADIS such things will happen as they know that there are some people some where in the power who will see that they are never caught.if at all they are caught our legal slow system takes an age to give IT'S verdict and very often than not the culprits easily escape from punishment.there must be capital punishment for such act and the legal process must be fast.otherwise the situation will not improve.to do this the necessary political will is sadly lacking in our leaders.

This is certainly a setback for reliance as it hoped to get spectrum without going through the auction process with the help of the govt.now it has to age for it and there is no certainty of winning it.any way,Let's wait and watch. -
Std Tariffs May Drop As Trai Allows Internet Telephony
situ1962 replied to ravi_patent's topic in Indian Telecom / General News
Definitely this move will bring down the long distance call rates.it was there for international calls but unfortunately not for domestic long distance calls.some times it was cheaper to make an isd call than making an std call.Let's hope it starts soon. -
I wish all friends a very happy INDEPENDENCE DAY.

Dot Plans Separate 3g Policy For Cdma Players
situ1962 replied to Arun's topic in Indian Telecom / General News
Anil's proximity to Amar Singh is apparent in this separate 3G policy for CDMA.always the reliance people have got the policy makers to bend in their favour.this time also it's not different. -
In ORISSA the 98 series is used by reliance gsm.but as it is full now it will have to use some other series.

that was my first thought also.

tata has introduced a new plan for post paid customers in orissa. monthly rental Rs 350.00 free talk time Rs 350.00 (can be used in calling all on net and off net nos both local and std) after exhaustion of free TT all local calls will be charged @ 0.50/pm and all std @ 1.50p/m. i think this is a better plan than our zero rental 249 plan as it allows the user to use the free TT in making std calls, whereas in reliance one can make only local calls using the free TT.std calls are charged separately.
