I did book it On xiaomi site but was not lucky enough to get one in the booking so bought from the Grey mkt as & when it was available i paid 2900 yuan aprox 29000 INR for it around 9k premium but that is how xiaomi new launches are either pay premium or wait a few months well my first impression with the phone "It seemed like Iphone married Nexus 5 & the result was this crossbreed called MI4 " It got all the good looks of Iphone & the speed n power of Android" Actually Xiaomi has always been inspired by the apple from the beigning the Miui launcher was more like the iphone with no conventional app drawer like the androids all xiaomi products have a seamless integration with each other just like the apple , i have been using Xiaomi Tv , Xiaomi Wifi router , xiaomi Tv box & practically no setup is required to attach devices to each other But xiaomi have done the job well the Brushed steel feels Great to Hold the phone size of 5 inch is really handy to hold compared to One Plus One it shares same specs & price as the ONE Plus One ( have used it also ) but 5.5 is difficult to handle with one hand Presently Using the CDMA variant of MI3 waiting for the CDMA variant of MI4 to launch hope fully it will be launched by end of this month more reviews & feedback later

Mi4 price is official @ 2000 yuan @ 2500 yuan for 16 gb & 64 gb respectively Its roughly 20000 INR & 25000 Inr they have almost set the same price as one plus one

I have been using this phone for about few months its a really awesome phone I am using the global variant on Cdma Sim card the battery life is very good As far as rooting is concerned you can install the Dev ROM which is updated weekly from official site it has the option to enable root & you won't even void your warranty Xiaomi has not launched the cdma variant with 64 gb yet only 16 gb is available for the Cdma let's see they launch the cdma variant officially in India or not

@feeagle99 before tinkering with the settings i will suggest you to try a different OMH sim card Preferably a TATA OMH if possible i am speaking this from my past experiences with Reliance sim cards many a times reliance sim cards dont work so it is advice able to use a tata sim if possible to derive to a conclusion just a week back i tried a New Reliance omh sim in Moto X it didnt connect to data service but when i tried a Tata omh sim Data was working fine so could be an issue relating to sim card not the phone

CDMA OMH sim can work with HTC one Sprint, Data & hotspot also works But u need to flash a special patched radio for it to wok with OMH sim & need to be s-off to flash the radio

@ feeagle99 One major issue that no one has pointed here regarding the US specific handsets If you are Planning to make the purchase in INDIA than please note this Most of the CDMA Handsets Imported from USA & being sold in INDIA are BAD ESN if i am not mistaken around 80% so Chances are those wont work for CDMA service In the USA as its already barred by the original Operator & some Global Phones also have restrictions for being used on Domestic GSM carriers in USA as they are meant to to be used on GSM if travelling outside USA So its better to make purchase in the USA Now some key points regarding your choice of handsets Now If you Make the Purchase in the US for example Razr Maxx HD (Clean ESN) You can use the Handset with verizon in USA , GSM Worldwide & Both GSM or CDMA in INDIA (will work out of the box) For Droid DNA will work with verizon sim in USA GSM worldwide & CDMA non sim (NV MODE) & GSM for INDIA , so if u choose & get it configured also u will need to switch between modes (nv & SIM) depending upon country the process takes only 5 mins but requires a pc to do it For sprint HTC one can be used in USA on sprint in NON sim (nv mode) GSM world wide & both CDMA or GSM sim in india but again need to switch modes according to country so best option in my opinion would be Razr HD Maxx Hope this Info Helps @Forum Members if i am wrong some where please correct me Regards

Unlock bootloader install CWM Recovery & select install zip from sd card than install from sideload connect cable to pc type in adb "adb sideload path of your rom" you will need a custom rom to do this sideload will transfer the file from pc to device without the need of OTG cable & flash it Hope this helps

connect the phone to pc it should show a cd rom install china telecom software it will install all the required drivers enable usb debugging try adb devices first if it connects than try adb reboot bootloader
