  1. Mobile TV Charges on EVDO Handsets

You will be consuming approximately 1-2 MB data per min. I am using the same with Tata Indicom. I am not sure about the monthly subscription charge for all the channels together as I mostly activate particular channels on daily (Rs.7), weekly (Rs.12) and monthly packs (Rs.35). Try a daily pack first and see whether you are on good Evdo network and the channel is streaming fine.
  2. LG Optimus 3D

Like Tegra 2 processor becoming sort of a standard with Optimus 2, 3D devices will be available in large soon.
  3. I think the deterioration of TD's gprs is linked to the recent improvement in their packs - Rs.149 now offers upto 8Gb data usage. Network maybe getting choked.
  4. Reliance Launches Rs.49 Unlimited R-2-R Calling Pack

Please go through the finer print it maybe attached that the free calls are limited to 30 mins per day or 500 mins per week.
  5. Samsung Hero B319

B319 have been made available for some time now. Would like to add that the phone is able to store 500 phonebook entries as well as 150 SMS storage capacity. Priced around Rs.1500.

  7. Please Suggest A Birthday Gift For My Son

^ KamaL Bhai version 2.0 ^ By the way, always have your sonny under supervision in the gym. And please adhere to zero weight lifting programme.
  8. Experience With Spice Mi300

Fair and comprehensive assessment of the phone
  9. Microsoft Kin ONEm

The Kin-one walks in the 800, 1900 band so it can possibly work with Indian operators with necessary tweaking and programming. Wait for expert opinion. Btw, nice specs - Evdo Rev.A, 5MP camera, QVGA Capacitive Touch screen, WiFi and a 1240 mah battery to top it. The windows OS and 600 mhz processor is not impressive though.
  10. All About LTE

Why A Raja? He was made to resign last nov 19th. The telecom portfolio is now being held by Kapil Sibal..
  11. Mobile Tariff Set To Go Up

Now the telecom biggies will have to shell out bucks for the excess spectrum they are holding, which is more than 10 Mhz in some circle! They at the same time will have a reason for upward revision of tariff.
  12. Let us hope that BSNL will follow suite and reduce its current unlimited 1x offering @ 250 to 75.
  13. Olive Launches Multi-Mode, Multi-Band Modem

Guys, let us come back to the unglamourous reality - it will be ages before Reliance/Tata's cdma division with a 100 million and declining following finds the market worthwhile to launch such a device, which will be of immense utility.
  14. L1 is Dead.... get a Life

Already stats reveal that Reliance is losing ground with MNP and this move is not going to help it either.
  15. Safe Online Shopping

Https serves the purpose of encrypting and decrypting user page requests as well as the pages that are returned by the web server. The use of https protects against 'eavesdropping and man-in-the-middle attacks'. And I dont think it possible for hackers to fake https as the same need to get certified.
  16. MNP Experience

    what a mess!
  17. All About LTE

The Motorola Droid Bionic will be the first LTE Droid smartphone and that it has a dual-core processor with each core running at 1GHz, delivering up to 2GHz of processing power and 512MB RAM, 4.3-inch touchscreen and HDMI out port. The spec sheet on this phone is certainly impressive. Aside from 4G, HDMI mirroring (so you can view video on both the phone and the TV when they're connected); 1080p video playback, 8-megapixel camera on the rear plus a front-facing VGA camera for video calls, Wi-Fi of course, and since it ships with Android 2.2, the WebKit browser also plays in-browser Flash video. Gingerbread fans need not fret either, as it is upgradable to Android 2.3. Following the example of the Motorola Droid Pro, the Droid Bionic will also feature different profiles for Home, Work, and Weekend, plus enterprise-level features that include remote wipe, data security, corporate e-mail compatibility, robust calendar management, and Quickoffice apps. Officially listed here in motorola.com Check out the cool snaps at engadget Elsewhere, LG have announced its first LTE 4G phone for Verizon Wireless that they are calling the LG Revolution and MetroPCS, not to be left off the race, have readied its first LTE smartphone - the Samsung SCH-R910 (will be named Samsung Forte?)
  18. All About LTE

China starts 4G TD-LTE trials China, the world’s largest mobile-phone market, may begin commercializing TD-LTE technology standard for fourth-generation mobile services next year. They have started trials of Time-Division Long-Term Evolution (TD-LTE) technology that would allow Chinese mobile phone users to exchange data faster than that is possible in the present 3G networks. The tests are expected to last 18 months, according to the country's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The director of the telecommunications development department for the ministry Zhang Feng said China will complete the research and development of commercial equipment for TD-LTE technology in 2012. The trials are being organised by the ministry and are meant to explore the commercial use of the TD-LTE technology. China Mobile is overseeing the construction of the networks. Companies which specialise in building telecommunications equipment like Huawei, Nokia-Siemens Networks and ZTE will also participate in the trials. The tests will be held in Shanghai, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Xiamen. Source : cbronline
  19. Kyocera Zio M6000 Cdma

No good opinion about this phone. At the best it is graded as passable..
  20. Received this sms today BA-AWARD congrats : your mobile number won for you 1000,000 GBP in the ongoing BBC mobile award held in uk. For claims contact Dr.Darvin Spencer. Email bbc-uk@msn.com Never thought a mobile no. will win me a fortune and that bbc corp. was so jobless. Why cant the operator verify the content before sending bulk smses?
  21. Can We Go Any Cheaper?

Ashok bhai, dont forget that Videocon runs the risk of getting its licence cancelled and the 4.4 Mhz spectrum alloted taken back by DOT for failing to meet the network roll out conditions. May be they are frantically trying to add more subscribers by offering dirt cheap tariffs so as to avoid the hook. Anyway, good for us - users
  22. This reminds me of their 16Mbps broadband plans.. Speed Combo 2999 - 20GB Limit Speed Combo 4999 - 50GB Limit At full throttle (16mbps) how long would one take to exhaust 20GB? 3 hours ! Only Airtel can offer such insane prepostions.
  23. Late delivery of SMSes is not limited to Reliance alone, it is an inherent shortcoming of cdma technology. My TI also delivers MCA (charged @15/month) and other text msgs, late.
  24. Charges for roaming outside home circle but on own network should be killed by all operators.
  25. RIM have supposedly made assurances to Indian officials that unmonitored BlackBerry BES data cannot be used by terrorists in real time to communicate. How could they possibly make such assurances?? I believe RIM is already monitoring our BES emails through a backdoor!
