  1. Jatin Gandhi, managing partner, Tirupati Fabknit, a hosiery and kidswear firm based in NCR, is raring to change his telecom service operator, from a CDMA player to a GSM player. The reasons: unhelpful custom er care department and un resolv ed call drop problem. Gandhi, whose average monthly bill is over Rs 3,500, is just one of several million subscribers who de sisted from changing their service operator simply to avoid a change in their 10-digit mobile phone number. That, as most subscribe rs will affirm, becomes a hassle as every personal and professional contact has to be individually infor med of the change in num ber and many may not care to save the new number. However, most subscrib ers would have to wait a while before mobile number portability (MNP) beco mes a reality as the initial launch is limited to Haryana. Syniver se Tec hnologies, which will impl ement MNP across 11 circ les in northern and wes tern India, said it is awaiting the implementation schedu le from DoT across the other 10 circles, besides Haryana. The other company to have be en granted licence for MNP services in 11 circles in southern and eastern Ind ia, Telc ordia Technologies, is awaiting security cle ara nce. But it’s not just subscri bers who are waiting for MNP, telec om firms too are gea ring up. Some, like Idea Cellular, have been running a tele vision campaign on the MNP launch. “It is difficult to say how many people will opt for it (MNP),” said chief cor porate affairs officer, Idea Cel lular, Rajat Mukarji. He says MNP may not witness an ex odus of subscribers overnig ht. “It might take four to five months before we see a siz eable shift,” he said. He disco unted the possibility of tari ffs being lowered further. The biggest beneficiari es could be the newer operato rs who have low subscriber numb ers and thereby spare capa city. “The battle for sub scriber additions is goi ng to be in the post-paid se gment as that is where the cream of a telco’s subscrib er base lies — people with high monthly spends on th eir mobiles,” said a spoke sperson of a new telecom operator. President and CEO of Sistema Shyam Teleservic es Vsevolod Rozanov expe cts the post-paid segment to witness a tariff war as the new operators vie for subscribers. “Most of the fall in tariffs in recent years has been in the pre-paid category. We expect tariffs to fall by do uble-digits,” he said Says Mritunjay Kapur, country MD, Protiviti Cons ulting, telecom firms looking to poach subscribers will target customers with high average revenue per user (ARPU). “High-value custo mers, those with an ARPU of at least Rs 1,000, will be the primary target for telcos looking to capitalise on MNP,” he said. He said the bigger players have improved their custo mer service in a bid to retain the high ARPU subscribers. “MNP will have an effect, but not immediately. This could take six to seven months,” he said. Source : here!
  2. Query Regarding Pack 69

You can definitely ask for a refund or transfer of the same to core balance Mail them the complaint to customercare@relianceada.com
  3. TATA DOCOMO when it launched the first ever reverse Ring Back tone, called as MySong service in the industry it created ripples and was being touted as an innovating service by industry experts and opinion leaders alike. Maybe Reliance will 'click' with this one
  4. Query Regarding Pack 69

Sadly so buddy The plan is valid only for Simply Reliance users who are on per second billing or 50 paisa per min plan. You can still vent out your anger in the post - Reliance Showing True Face?
  5. for the positive move. Now the rational Indian subscriber will truly go Mobile Btw, they got any time frame for pan-India rollout?
  6. @shashank It is just 2GB with Vodafone. What you were talking about is true with TATA Docomo, provides 6GB of data with Rs.95 recharge
  7. The data usage cap was 2GB for customers recharging with Rs.95 Bonus Card and they too could avail tethering for 30 days. Also the Rs. 14 Bonus Card offers 200 MB data usage for 3 days. (At least in Kerala circle they hold true). Did these offers lapse?
  8. Hope the 100MB 3G usage for 6 months they are offering to all customers who port wont choke the network and spoil the speeds I am getting now
  9. Now you confused him even more!
  10. Would have had more firepower to it if they offered free 3G for 1 month instead of GPRS. Anyway we can expect Operators to give more mind blowing offers to high ARPU users who port.
  11. Cant understand this, what sort of customers do they target with such a product? Corporates who want to do a project presentatinon in the middle of jungle?
  12. Samsung Mpowertxt M369

Okay guys I brought this phone! Set me back by 6600Rs. On the front of the box it is written CDMA 3G maybe referring to the EVDO capability. On first look it looks like a cross-over between a Blackberry and Nokia E63. The screen somehow feels smaller than I expected, in fact it is the same as E63 at 320x240 pixel resolution. The QWERTY keypad will need time to used to as it is a bit cramped. The front is mettalic and the back lid of plastic which feels like it will give way. Samsung have been generous this time giving it more than 104Mb internal memory that can be extended upto a mamooth 16GB by Micro SD card. That is it for now! I will update about the cam and music poweress later as I have kept it for the first time charging of five hours Anyone wants me to post the detailed review and pics??
  13. Reliance Calculated My Usage as Rs.6824

wow! Is it the official RCOMcare that just posted? I didnt know that they have a presence in the virtual world (or that they care)
  14. TATA Docomo 3G Speed Test Results

Now the Connection Manager in my N95 shows that the download speeds is around 800KBps and peaks at 1Mbps. I am on 1000 Rs - 5Gb plan. At this speed it will be exhausted before the validity of 30 days expires!
  15. Please Suggest CDMA Handset For TATA Indicom

Try the Open Market Handsets by samsung or lg. They come in a bit cheaper and seems to be of a better make than the ones you procure from Tata Indicom shops. But you are not left with options when it comes to high end OMHs.
  16. Yup. Uninor leads in coming up with offers that even a rational man find hard to follow. And I didnt even experience EDGE speed last time (two months back) when I tried them so 100mb cannot be utilised to heart's content.
  17. The original post mentions it as TATA DOCOMO being the 4th largest operator with a mere share of 38 million users. This can be correctly rephrased as TTSL plus TTML is the 4th.............. right?
  18. The on-net tariff of 10p/min is just a promotional offer and will be taken back one Cheers have significant number of subscribers. And STD @ 60p/min is not as attractive as TI 50p/min BTW, whose network are they sharing?
  19. Moto Flipout with similar design seems to be a better deal as it runs on Android but has only 3.2mp cam.
  20. and Kesav, even I thought that it was you who made it to Japan!
  21. @ original post How come Tata Docomo with 32.82 million users gets to be the 4th largest operator?? This would have been true if he had said Tata teleservices i.e included the CDMA subscribers But in this case Idea with 68 million users and Aircel with some 41 million subscribers at the end of June '10 should be crowned 4th and 5th right?
  22. Samsung Mpower TV S239

@mils1316 That is the third time you are complaing about your non-functional Mobile Tracker! If it is only MT you seek why didnt you go in for a cheaper one like Samsung Hero 189??
  23. Telenor finds no irregularity with India licences OSLO, Nov 20 (Reuters) - Norway's Telenor (TEL.OL) denied on Saturday that its Indian subsidiary Uninor had won mobile phone licences in an irregular manner, the Norwegian news agency NTB reported. India's telecoms regulator has called for 38 mobile licences, including some held by Uninor, to be cancelled amid a political scandal that is shaking the government of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. [iD:nSGE6AI0EV] The regulator said on Thursday that the licences were awarded too cheaply, and may have cost India a potential $31 billion. The accusations have led to the sacking of Telecoms Minister Andimuthu Raja. "We have now investigated how our licences were awarded and have not found any irregularities," Telenor spokesman Glenn Mandelid told NTB. Telenor had not yet established itself on the Indian mobile market when the licences were awarded in 2008. Later that year it bought stakes in local firm Unitech, which was awarded the permits. That firm is today called Uninor. Mandelid said the award system in 2008 was not the same as today's. "Indian authorities feared the telecoms market would turn into a monopoly so they operated under a 'first come first served' principle," he said. "The award system was the same from 2000 to 2008 when Unitech got its licence. Since then they have gone over to an auction system." Telenor has about 13.5 million customers in the country's highly competitive mobile market. It has praised its strong market development in the third quarter but said its Indian operations would post and EBITDA (earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation) loss of 4.5 billion crowns ($775 million) in 2010. 24. I am thinking on the same lines. The damage is already done and the people with tainted hands at the end of day should be brought before law. But if the Govt. proposes to punish the new entrants by slapping them with bills for the spectrum held, such a move will deter foreign investment and ultimately the flourishing telecom sector will suffer.
