  1. Wow! Wasnt aware that they launched daily plans @ Rs.5. I liked the one which give 50 mins local T2T
  2. Samsung Mpower TV S239

We cant play music in the background in even the self proclaimed Muzik series! Also it does not support 3.5mm headset.
  3. I second that. They seems to have chalked out plans for CDMA expansion in India. Maybe they are able to think clearly as they dont have GSM in their head (taking a dig at Rel, Tata)
  4. It is what we can call a ''soft'' launch with no gala or fanfare as was the case with DOCOMO. I think, as a member already pointed out, they commenced service just for namesake, to hang on to the precious spectrum in Delhi from being forefeited by TRAI.
  5. AK Antony was once pursued and asked by a newspaper on what he plans to do with the then-rampant corruption in the defense department. He had then assumed the office. His well intended innocent reply might shock you, ''I will streamline the corruption'' What do you expect him to do when this proposal comes up to him?? Also Vodafone is now lobbying to see to it that dual technology players - Rel and Tata, are not allotted anymore spectrum giving insane propositions like using 1800mhz for CDMA!
  6. Will this turn out to be a joke - Bharat berry instead of time proven and secure Blackberry services? I dont think it will have many takers unless RIM fails to break ice with Govt and the users are forced to switch over or face termination (which is unlikely to happen)
  7. "Future of mobile in India would very soon be based on data services" They got an ambitious plan to be a pan India operator by 2012. Remember they got start up spectrum in all the circles.
  8. New 3G Page in Reliance Communications Website!

I hope their 2G offering in GSM will improve in any way with the advent of 3G. As otherwise it will be a massive flop after the initial hustle and bustle.
  9. See the catch clearly - 50 local minutes and only 5 min can be utilized for all network. 45 mins on-net calls will almost go unavailed as it is a just lauched service. At this age of free-SIM, who is going to buy a new connection for Rs.49? - Anyway prudent move by them to launch service just before MNP is implemented.
  10. Samsung on Friday launched its iPad competitor, Galaxy Tab, a 7-inch touchscreen , tablet in India. The company said that India is among the three countries in the world where it is launching Galaxy Tab first. The device is powered by Android Froyo, the latest version of Google's operating software for mobile devices. According to Samsung, Galaxy Tab would be available in the market from November 10 at a price of 38,000. Though the price puts it squarely against iPad, a research analyst said the fact that Apple is yet to launch its tablet formally in India could work out in favour of Samsung. Unlike iPad, which is a 10-inch tablet , Galaxy Tab has a smaller screen. But it supports making and receiving calls through a Bluetooth-enabled headset, something that iPad doesn't allow. There is a demand among users for device that allows for rich computing experience on move. This is the demand that Galaxy Tab seeks to satisfy. "We feel demand for tablets is poised to grow phenomenally as users start to experience the limitless potential of this device ," said Ranjit Yadav, director (mobile & IT) at Samsung India. Since Apple launched iPad early this year, small touchscreen computing devices have seen a huge growth and various hardware manufacturers are trying to cash in on the opportunity . According to Research Mason, over 24 million tablets are expected to be sold in 2011 worldwide, amounting to over 100% growth in one year. For Galaxy Tab, Samsung said it has partnered with various telecom companies. "Operators like Airtel, Aircel, Vodafone, Tata Docomo and RCOM will be announcing very exciting offers and data plans with the Galaxy Tab when we commence sales of the Galaxy Tab," said Yadav. Also India specific content like maps from MapMyIndia and apps that allow access to Indian newspapers will come preloaded on the device. 11. Samsung Mpowertxt M369

It is a good deal @ 6.5k considering the features it packs. More info here
  12. Hey I have an alternate DOCOMO prepaid connection since the last 1.5 years, which I took just to use the data packs (the speed is very good here) Now, I have been receiving this message daily for the past one week - Hi! Win a trip to Japan and be the first to experience 3G. Sms 3G life to 141. When I did the same, they instantly replied "Your request is received" which was followed by "You are not a member of BuddyNet. Join by sending blah-blah"
  13. Tata Photon + Music

Had gone to TI exclusive store near my home on the usual rounds and found Tata Photon + Music's stock with him. It have arrived two days back and there were few enquiries since then.
  14. Dual Sim Mobile Which Reliance Is Launching

check out this link - www.ecvv.com/selling-lead/1431412.html the manufacturer is ridafone, never heard of that one
  15. Any New Releases From Nokia in CDMA?

okay now you heard from The Authority Nokia lags behind the herd in all areas, even their Symbian os, though mature, is long obsolete. Go for something in the likes of BB or htc.
  16. I had a brainwave - why cant the operator sound a SMALL pre-recorded message stating the network the receiver is with before the Hello Tune? Will that work? OR they should develop a system by which any user can find out the network the receiver is with by dialing a -said- number.
  17. Leechers -

I happened to see this Leechers topic in the home page and thought to myself, Oh boy someone finally started talking about torrents! You are well versed in it right, go post Now, I believe that there are these Leechers as you mentioned only in the BUY/SELL section. These guys have zero contribution in general sections and are in just to grab the exicting deals our members put up especially Sadik ji and Hitesh ji. How can one leech in other sections?? IMHO, the LEECHERS today (if any) will be the SEEDERS of tommorrow
  18. Is not additional 2G spectrum being alloted to the operators who manage to garner enough number of subscribers? I hope that these will be forefeited once they find that the figures are inflated and does not represent the actual situation.
  19. Please Suggest a good CDMA Handset with EVDO

I second that, why are you going for EVDO (which is not available in all areas) when 3G is just around the corner?? You dont get many options too within this range other than the likes of Samsung Corby, LG cookie zip..
  20. Which Is Better - 3G or EVDO?

This topic always comes up now and then and gets heatedly debated upon The answer totally depends on the version of EVDO you refer to in the question! - EVDO REV A promises download speed upto 3.1Mbps while EVDO REV B is the fastest with speeds upto 9.3Mbps and is currently being tested worldwide. And more importantly the speeds we drool upon are purely theoretical and varies drastically on a number of factors.
  21. MTS Sub Category Forum Request

Mts commands only a miniscule market share with 5 million subscribers (as on June 2010) and is not a pan-India operator so does it deserve a seperate category?? But as Rajan Mehta mentioned it is the 3rd operator focussed on CDMA and is, I think, currently the most dynamic and aggressive operator on many fronts. We all got this love of CDMA in our blood, dont we so why do we have some sort of a count of how many Rimwebians are on Mts?
  22. India 3G Auctions Winners

Also no hoarding of 3G spectrum above the rationed 5 MHz in circles is possible.
  23. who knows, maybe this will lead to a gaming revolution with other leading manufacturers - Nokia, Samsung, Motorola, LG launching dedicated gaming phones along the lines of dedicated music/business phones
  24. I second what KanagaDeepan said. Just when MNP is around the corner Tatas and Rel got insane started irritating the customers with new restrictions. The customer satisfaction with them have always been a strained one and now with this, the high ARPU subscribers will surely jump stables as the biggies - Airtel / Vodafone will tempt them with irresistible offers.
  25. Why you so desperate?? Did they rip you off Kartik bhai, I should now tell you the whole chapter I am using RCDMA since 2005 as prepaid. In april 2009 I became a postpaid user, everything was fine till I shifted my residence to vaishali (Ghaziabad) in feb 2010. I am not getting proper signal at my home, cannot make a full call without dropping. also I cant find a single signal in my underground parking. I lodged complaints in every possible manner (*222, webworld, mail to service assurance cell and nodal officer), but all in vain. On *222, they keep saying that there is no problem from our side. nodal officer didnt bother to reply my mail and Service assurance cell sent me same mail in all 3 replies (posted below) "Dear Mr. Chaudhary, With reference to your e-mail regarding network issue on your Reliance Mobile number 9310634XXX, please note that your complaint is registered vide Service Request ID 122511344. We have escalated the same to the concerned department and will respond to you shortly. We understand the inconvenience caused to you and take this as a feedback to improve our services to meet your expectations. Yours sincerely, Moumita Chandra Service Assurance Cell Reliance Communications" and now since 1 week, it has become very common when I call my friends or they call me "This route is busy" bhai now I cant bear any more, bhaaad me jaye cheap tarrif. I was using vodafone for some time in delhi circle and find it awesome and full signal even in underground. bye bye reliance That is sad, my sympathies are with you. I can relate to it easily as Rel GSM is giving me sleepless nights with its poor network
