  2. Samsung Corby Speed CDMA Launched

644 posts and 43 pages! I think this is the longest one Sound quality through Speed is just average. Not justifiable with the price tag it carries.
  3. AirTel's 3G Roadpath

We can very well predict by now that Airtel and Vodafone customers will be shelling out the most for 3G plans. Reliance and Idea's 3G plans is the one to look out for.
  4. AirTel's 3G Roadpath

I am hoping that the relatively new operators - Aircel and DOCOMO introduce game changing tariff in 3G tariff just like they did with call rates and current GPRS rates
  5. Problem In Using Aircel SIM on BlackBerry 8830

With Aircel are'nt you getting sufficient network coverage?? Like you point out, SOS will be displayed when there is no signal transmitted. Try some other GSM Operator to confirm.
  6. Samsung Mpower TV S239

Anyone actually did use the ''TV'' feature in this phone?? Or is it just a rip off.
  7. Idea Launches 3G Net Setter .

Remember the market leader Bharti Airtel had cautioned that 3G mobile services will not come cheap, especially for subscribers in metros, as service providers had to pay dearly for spectrum. "Take the example of Delhi itself, or Mumbai. The amount for spectrum that has been charged is close to Rs 3,500 crore each... Just to recover license fees and input cost, it works out to be Rs700-900 per month ," Bharti Group Chairman Sunil Mittal had said
  8. Idea Launches 3G Net Setter .

I'm having a doubt - Even if we buy the 3G netsetter, we will be provided gprs/EDGE speed till 3G is launched in Dec-Jan right??
  9. I think this time they will stick to the October 31st deadline but who can correctly predict govt. affairs.
  10. Reliance GSM Network in Pune/Vishranthwadi

Name a company that could make a thousand crore loss and still sit on it like nothing happened, eventually bailed out by Govt.?? No brownie points for guessing it as BSNL So guys lets not write it off. There may still be fire left in it. Remember, it is the only Operator that keeps the Indian village connected For instance, last week it launched its network in the remote Miyar valley in Himachal Pradesh where no one else has a presence.
  11. Samsung Mpower Muzik 219 Cdma

@above look at the condition of the phone. Otherwise it is a pretty good deal.

Bro, was checking for my options before taking Samsung Muzik 219 today. The guy showed me a LG 6300 (which I had used before) It had an OMH logo sticker pasted in front prominently.
  15. The CDMA Phone You Want From LG

Arun for developing such an awesome website. Have to say it is contagious
  18. Samsung Mpower Muzik 219 Cdma

Just brought this handset for Rs.2950. Looks sturdy and cool, liked the way the keys are laid. Didnt get data cable or memory card with it - I got drenched in rain on the way will update about the phone soon.
  19. I think Tata Indicom provides me better value with - All Local calls including landline @ 30p/min. STD calls @ 50p/min. Sms @ 30p. Roaming @ 50p/min. - Activating sms plan of Rs.55 endows me with 7500 local and national sms valid for 30 days (this sms plan may not be attractive to chronic texters but suits my needs just fine)
  20. Good offer for long duration STD and local users
  21. I had used LG 6300 for two months Review - pretty decent phone for the price. Average 2mp cam, screen - good, sound - loud and clear, feel - sturdy. The browsing experience with the phone was not remarkable and the keypad didnt exactly make texting comfy.
  22. which samsung ''Duos'' are we talking about?? there are plenty of them - 256, 299, touch?
  23. The termination charges for SMS was fixed at 10 paisa but TRAI never monitored the transactions in SMS charges which resulted in operators sending messages without paying any termination charges to each other. The business logic for operators was that SMS constitutes a major chunk of their traffic thus non-charging would negate any payment towards termination charges. This resulted in operators offering free SMS packs with mutual understanding. This started choking the networks as new entrants also started the same practice of offering free or lower SMS rates pack. Older telecos are not comfortable with new entrants utilizing similar strategy as majority of old customers reside on their network. Thus Bharti Airtel recently started charging 10 paisa as termination charges without dolling out any favors to other networks Currently a voice call is charged less than a SMS. The SMS charges ranges from 50 paisa - Rs.1 without considering any value added package plans. Thus the levying of termination charges will bring transparency to the whole messaging system at the same time see irrational telecom packages going out of market and SMS charges falling inline with calling charges. This move will hardly increase SMS charges but if TRAI interferes to bring down the SMS prices as majority of this revenues goes into operators kitty it could start a downfall in SMS charges. The operators currently earn a hefty profit through messaging as network cost is minimal in terminating messages thus they needs to bring rationality in their chtarges to benefit the subscribers
  24. Wow this is interesting I was under the impression that the order is Nokia - Samsung - Micromax.
