DONE!!! with errors... Got the big USB sign after connecting to PC, ran the palmpre_cdma_rom_1.4.1.1_bypass-treo8v2 It did something with Novacom, then screen said disabled then window opened asking me to connect the phone and press next (even though the phone is connected). I pressed next.. On computer screen a phone with green arrow pointing down shows and it says dont disconnect your phone.. As for the phone itself, till 4% the USB sign shows.. then small palm comes written (like the one when we switch the phone on) then a chip/processor photo comes with a yellow arrow pointed down towards it on the phone itslef... But after 84% is done, on the pC i get a message " we were unable to reset your phone. Please go to palm support for help". And on the phone the picture of processor/chip remains.. If i remove the connection and remove the battery and restart the phone, phone comes on with all the required pages, but no connection, not even a cross on the network sign. Any ideas...

HI, Earlier i used webosdoctorp100ewwsprint.jar and java immediately picked it up. i have now downloaded from two different locations that tushar's links provided. They are zipped files so on unzipping They show as palmpre_cdma_rom_1.4.1.1_bypass-treo8v2 in it there are 3 folders 1. com 2. Meta-INF 3. resources The first 2 seem irrelevant as they contain .class files but the 3rd folder contains besides .png,.html files they also carry the following- desktopinstallers.config recoverytool.config ps.palmws.com NovacomInstaller_x64.msi NovacomInstaller_x86.msi webOS.tar (zipped) sprint.tar (zipped) NovacomInstaller.pkg.tar.gz (zipped) after connecting phone which file do i run...

dont mind me asking, hitesh but how do i do that... is there a link to a step by step guide... i have downloaded a 200 mb file palmpre_cdma_rom_1.4.1.1_bypass-treo8v2. it has 3 files com Meta-INF resources there is no launcher or anything.. thanks, can i call you tomorrow anytime... just make my phone work.. I even used companion links usb to transfer all numbers that went okay but all the memos and and any new numbers i store dont get synced back to palm desktop... That will be the next thing i have to figure out, once the phone starts working again.

Hi, although reliance is not s seller, but My phone's MEID IS registered with them... very few phones like this, the reason why i bought it is because it was registered with them, So last time i visted them to activate it. But thanks Ami and Hitesh, i am downloading from Tushar's link and will first try to re flash it. As i live in a small town in HP i will have to visit chandigarh WW if i have to. but i hope i can solve it.. It is showing me the MEID no on the screen, so lets see how it goes.. Absolutley appreciate the quick replies.

Have POSTED the same in the other Palm Post, so please ignore if you have read this already. Finally managed, to use webos doctor 1.4.11 as in the beginning everytime i switched off the phone and connected with PC using Windows XP, my phone would come on (which takes like good 3-4 minutes), and start charging. Anyway managed to use webOS it automatically did what it had to BUT ON RESTART IT TRIED TO CONNECT TO SERVICES 5 times.. And IS NOT connecting... "ACTIVATION ERROR" you may need to activate your phone by going to www.sprint.com/activate. You'll need HEX MEID:A1#############EA Does this mean i have to go back to WEB WORLD and tell them to re activate ( as they do have the HEX MEID number).. And after that do i need to flash my pre again with 1.4.1.1 firmware.

hi have been trying to make webosdoc work all day. no idea what i am doing wrong. please advice this is what i have and what i am doing. I have windows 7 I completly switched off the phone. I kept the volume up button pressed and connected the usb lead. Windows 7 tried to install but gave an error. But then the USB sign did ome on the phone, and alittle icon appeared on taskbar showing the palm depicted by a usb plug with a green tick on it. after that i double clicked webosdoctorp100ewwsprint ( a 207 mb file downloaded from precentral). It opens, i choose English-United States click NEXT Confirm English i click on the green tick mark button i accept the license agreement gives a long message about "tool will reset your phone, if it has stopped......" i click next checking system installs something called Nova something quickly and then a new message comes up "Connect your phone directly to your computer with your USB Cable...... do not remove battery or...." At this point i cant click on next as its not highlighted... Thats it.

am having the same problem.. also problem with phone coming on and off.. i have the solutions from mufaddal, didnt have the time but doing so now. after that will try and tackle the reliance area notification. am sure mufaddal can help.

Hi Ami, please pm me you number need to find out how u did you get your webosdoc to work. i connect my phone it asks me if i want usb mode/media sync or just charge.. if i choose usb shows pic of phone with usb signage on it... and then i run the doc, asks me language i confirm, then does the agreement check then Novacomd starts installing in a small window with progress bar... and then says "service removed" then nothing, except a window wthout next being highlighted appears asking me to connect the phone... Please advice...

hi, sorry have not tried the flash as yet as i have downloaded it on my comp back home. I had to get away for some work to mumbai. once i get back will be updating as i have to recharge my phone twice ven if i dont use it. Also any idea if the palm pre plus will work with reliance... Last but not the least where in mumbai can i purchase some accessories for palm pre...

wow... IT WORKS AGAIN!!! Thanks a lot Doc.... You should be paid for what you do... i guess the respect you carry on this forum is form is great on its own. Thanks again, had me so worried, slept at like 5 AM looking for methods to unlock again when the solution was so simple... (had once updated my jailbroken iphone software ... ended up locking it). So now it says international in place of sprint and its working.. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ A bit for those of you who still love Palm Desktop.. I updated etc so that i could connect to APP catalog. From which i downloaded CL USB. On my computer i downloaded from the companionlink site companion link... choosing what you'll be using for or method you like is fairly easy. Both softwares on the phone and PC get installed easy. You need to press sync after launching your CL on your phone. Once complete... connect using USB... Run PC software.. it will sync calenders, conatcts even memos (memos though wont show on desktop will remain in CL USB). After its done... remove usb cable... GO BACK to CL USB and press sync again..... Viola.... all your contacts,calenders etc (since 1994 in my case) , will be back in the phone... After todays solution am so relieved ... and insides are telling me to leave it alone ... but now gonna try and downlload and try apps that Doc has suggested in his post... Thanks again doc. Amarjot

But i did manage to make a new profile... and also was able to log on to "APP CATALOG".. Also was able to download the CL USB for syncing my Palm desktop to pre thru USB. BUT..... NO NETWORK anymore... Need help cant find any solutions online... Also cannot roll back.

Hi, I just got my Used Palm Pre unlocked for reliance. Already in love with it. Its just amazingly smooth. Having a problem please help if anyone knows. I have the web OS ver 1.3.5.1 I had the 755p it got burnt out. long story. I do not want to use the web to transfer my data from my PALM DESTOP to my PRE. My Wifi is workng fine, checked by watching a video on youtube. There is a software called CompanionLink for webOS USB, which i have downloaded on my desktop... but i am to download the same on my phone from APP CATALOG. Without wifi i am able to open the APP CATALOG ( guess the previous owner must have accessed it). I am unable to open the application nor am able to open the APP CATALOG or even the UPDATE using wifi. Update just does not open, and APP CATALOG gives an error " THE ACTION COULD NOT BE COMPLETED.Try again later. " Please help if anyone is Familiar. 2. If i update or anything or if i do a partial reset will i lose all the setting ie will it continue to work with Reliance or will i have to re-unlock it. Will the EVO connection work. Thanks.
