  1. Reliance CDMA Shutting down

I have a strange problem. My mom's phone is a SIM-less Motorola phone with MEID registered. Using it smoothly for over two years. *228 never worked on this phone & the changeover was done using Handset change card. Now when I try to register for 4G by SMSing on 1299, I get an error message saying this is not a valid CDMA number. Customer Care say this error could be because this phone number does not show up on list for changeover because *228 was never done. They are not able to register me either,. So what is the solution for this. Is there a way out? Please help.
  2. How to use BSNL CDMA RUIM on imported CDMA phones

Does BSNL have CDMA service in Mumbai? Asking as MTNL doesn't have any good info on this. Also can one still get a BSNL CDMA connection purchased/activated through an MTNL office ?
  3. Smartphones that will work on Reliance 4G

Hi Rajan, It looks like the Lava X11 & the Xolo Era X are identical handsets. The Xolo is around 1200 cheaper. Maybe they are made by the same manufacturer? Check out the specs.
  4. Smartphones that will work on Reliance 4G

Hi, Just a thought. Since Jio works on band 3 as indicated above, what if a Volte phone works only on band 3 & band 5. Should it not be enough if someone wants to stay on in the Rcom-Jio partnership. For this band 40 support would not be necessary, would it?
  5. Reliance CDMA Shutting down

I think most senior members are saying that a 4G Volte enabled phone is the best option. It should support Bands 3, 5 & 40. I did some research & on the budget range I think the Samsung Galaxy On5 is a good option. It supports all the above, is built reasonably well & sells for around 8k: http://www.flipkart.com/samsung-galaxy-on5/p/itmedhx3uy3qsfks?pid=MOBECCA5BJUVUGNP&al=K3oDzLPIAsOP5P%2BXd98L0sldugMWZuE7Qdj0IGOOVqtBAKbRQQ%2FoyS39taKTf%2F%2FMHn4EQYwWgFw%3D&ref=L%3A-6432181019323839660&srno=p_2&findingMethod=Search&otracker=start Please pool in other good options. By good I mean apart from support the tech it should also be well built, with a good display, decent battery, durable etc.
  6. Smartphones that will work on Reliance 4G

Can someone please clear the confusion regarding LTE Band 5? Will Jio & Rcom 4G users BOTH need this band 5 for seamless coverage in the future? Since they have this spectrum sharing setup. Very few phones out there seem to cover band 5. Redmi Note 3 is an exception.
  7. Smartphones that will work on Reliance 4G

How about the new Panasonic Eluga Arc? Seems to tick all the right boxes to support 4G bands as well as Volte. http://www.mobile.panasonic.co.in/productEluga_ARC.html Any thoughts?
  8. If its LS990 then don't you mean LG G3 ?
  9. Reliance CDMA Network Upgrade To 4G LTE

What happens to Wireless landline phones? As far as I know they use the same CDMA network which they are 'upgrading'. We have 2 such connections.
  10. Motorola Droid Razr M (Global)

@ ^ Which Sim series are you currently using? The problem may lie in that.
  11. If PKC19 is not going for it, please let me know. Can pick it up from Chembur. Thanks!
  12. Huawei EC1260 Modem Drivers Required

If anyone who has updated to Windows 10 & is having trouble with the Huawei EC1260 modem, please do the following:- Download the following package (around 25 Mb) from the Huawei Support page link below:- http://consumer.huawei.com/en/support/downloads/detail/index.htm?id=13967 From the extracted zip file open the iso image from which please install the setup.exe file. There is even a tutorial video in the zip file for help. The drivers will be installed along with a software called 'Mobile Partner'. Don't bother with the software & let it remain installed in the background. Restart the PC & you will find the Reliance Dialer auto install (if not installed earlier) & then the device will be found as normal. Make relevant changes of your number to the Dialer settings & you are good to go as normal. Basically the package installs relevant Win 10 drivers which are (strangely) not available separately anywhere else. Its been working perfectly for me. If anyone has any queries, please feel free to ask me here. Best of luck!
  13. Just to update you all that the software update No.24.13.3 does not do any damage to existing settings. All fine after the update. Other users may take it.
  14. My Droid Maxx received a software update today named 24.13.3 I haven't installed it yet & so was wondering if this breaks compatibility with Reliance CDMA via Recruc06 Sim. Or any other significant changes. If anyone has installed the same, please do share if this update can be installed safely. Thanks!
  15. If I'm not mistaken, both those work on SIM. The PP one is the Verizon prepaid version.
  16. @ Inam/Mani, No tweaks or such is needed. The RGE Sim works fine out of the box & with data if HSD is activated. Only one thing, its important to give the RGE Sim a proper *228 activation, maybe in another handset which supports it.
  17. In my experience the Moto G with Sim slot will work only with an RGE Sim for data. I struggled with a piece for many days until I got an RGE.
  18. CDMA REV B handsets?

Same problem here. Shows RevB in Advanced Signal Status but has normal speeds. Was wondering if any app exists to confirm if phone is utilizing & connecting to RevB when available. I have even raised queries to people who have successfully done the DFS setting change on the Droid Maxx. Someone with knowledge on this can pls confirm process.
  19. Droid Maxx users. Has moved from 24.3.7 to 24.13.2? I wanted to know if it is safe to do so. So far data etc. works fine. Will it continue to work after the update to 24.13.2? Please do update anyone with experience. Thanks!
  20. Gurugopalji, Please keep me in consideration for an RGE. I had mailed you last month regarding same. Thanks! Basu
  21. It actually NOT so simple. Though I have transferred the number out of the Moto G onto a Sim, and this new Sim is activated for EVDO, The Moto G continues to show data usage in my number. Basically both the new SIMs data usage as well the Moto G's data usage get shown up in one connection. I interacted with Hitesh & this is a very possible scenario especially when Reliance transfers a number out of a non-sim phone. Actions attempted to resolve this:- Have asked Reliance to deactivate EVDO for my number but I'm told its a "Handset Feature" meaning its something they cannot do at their end. They apparently can only activate data services, cannot deactivate them.Have asked them to Reprovision EVDO but neither Webworld nor Customer Care even know what that means.Have tried to launch a complaint number regarding this but am told they cannot take one unless the new bill showing double usage is generated.Am now at my wits end. Will update how this unique problem pans out.
  22. I have wiped all personal data from Moto G. What steps to take now to ensure that data is still not running from old number connection after I have transferred my number out of the Moto G? If my transferred number on the new handset/sim card is evdo activated & working, does it automatically mean that the Moto G is cleared of my old number data usage or can it simultaneously be billed on both? (since its a programmed handset) Please let me know how to confirm this. I don't want to be billed double for data after I pass the Moto G to a new number. @Hiteshji, Please help.
  23. How does one remove personal info from the Moto G? I don't even get the 'remove account' button in the Account settings for Google. Is it safe to do a factory reset to pass on the phone to a new user? Need to wipe personal details. Hiteshji, please let me know how to go about wiping the personal details without losing programming done for data etc. Any steps?
  24. Mobile internet is a vague term as it is applicable to any data connection which is receivable by the cell phone. To clarify For CDMA connections there is firstly 1x which is the existing voice/sms connectivity being used for data. This speed can range from 30Kbps to around 130Kbps on good signal areas in my experience. Exclusive data connectivity of a higher speed is through activation of EVDO which works parallel to the voice signal. EVDO coverage is independent of voice signal coverage & is mostly limited to high density areas such as towns & cities. An activated EVDO handset/SIM card in this coverage zone is likely to get average speeds of 400Kbps to 1.5Mbps in RevA and higher if RevB is available (both on tower & device). Reliance Netconnect + is the branding for data card connections which use the same EVDO signals as above. There is fundamentally no difference in the SIM card itself used for data & phone connections. At least the newer SIMs available now. Beyond that it depends on the device which is using the SIM such as handset or data dongle. Please specify what your queries pertain to for further clarifications.
  25. Whatsapp Calling Feature

Is the latest version of Whatsapp only available for some devices? On mine the playstore shows my version to be the latest & it has no calling feature ?!?
