There is another phone which I saw with the local MTS distributor is a Fly make white body, full touch, windows mobile,1300mah battery. I was tempted to buy for the great looks of it.

5X zoom is nothing for a DSLR. Even some p&s cameras have something similar. Nikon P500 have much better features. Offcourse I am great fan of Nikon.

What happens to the data setting of my HTC EVO 4G if I upgrade to the next version of Android? Will they remain or will have to redo.

The features of the mobile looks impressive and I am tempted........................ If all the promises given by the seller are kept ( hope they keep promises on ebay) it may be the best feature rich phone. But the life of the phone after one year............ but why even costly phones lost for little over a year in many cases. Take the case of my Samsung Corby. In less than a year the display is gone. The dealer said it is due to water ingress and rejected warranty. I paid Rs.2000 for repairs. So this mobile may be worth every paisa of its price. I will try to get a gsm number first.

As I have mentioned elsewhere in this forum, there has been difficulty in getting data on MTS. They (cc over voice 955) told me the same un and pw but nothing works. My mail to MTS cc is unanswered after a month. All cc are the same.

There are several other softwares available for partitioning. They are very simple to use. The one I use is Partition Magic. Just google.

The process of transferring mdn from sim to phone is stopped I suppose. But I have a good friend with a WW and he took it very seriously and got the job done after a few days. No casual efforts will work with RCOM. TOUGH NUTS there. MEID registration is done with the help of a forum member and data setting done with the help of the process mentioned in this thread. And my EVO is working perfectly now.

In my opinion it is the kind of poor support we get from the CDMA operators. You just cannot get anything from the CC. Not that other GSM CCs are better but there is no need for support in GSM. Here in CDMA we have to run from pillar to post to get even the basic need for the subscriber. In GSM you just put the sim and you can fly. But it is not so here. Only hard core members like some of us will remain. I myself have moved to MTS just because of the high number of CDMA handsets available with me. Another reason for me to remain with CDMA is THIS FORUM

Though late this info can help. There are certified tax return preparers (TRP) trained and certified by the department. They are supposed to collect only Rs. 250/ per case.

I have this HTC EVO 4G activated on RCOM only recently. The data was activated on 18th july only and as this is not by regular number I kept it switched off till 21st. I used this phone only on 22nd and 23rd (when I went to Ooty for a meeting) with very normal usage ( no downloads, no browsing) incl gps and mail checking. Today 24th morning I recd msg that my O/G is disconnected due to high usage. I am back home and checked rcom site and found that My unbilled usage is 1253/ and exceeds my credit limit. Incidentally I checked my unbilled usage for this number on 20th and it was Rs.008/ only ( yes eight only). I shall pay the bill when due. Now friends and experts pls suggest me what is wrong here. Is there any thing wrong in the settings of the phone?. I think I am on default post paid Rconnect plan . My main concern here is how to avoid it in future? My idea of activating the HTC is to take this phone with me when I go out of station so that I can check mails and other things when away. But with this kind of billing ( in two days of usage)I will discontinue this number. Any suggestions ???????? Thanks in advance.

My guess is that Parin and Pankaj are right.I will get it confirmed tomorrow. It was seven hundred and odd at 10 AM and nine hundred and odd at 6PM. I became 1200 in the next morning and o/g gone. Any way thanks for the others who shared my concern. A LESSON LEARNT.
