  1. Samsung Mpower Muzik 219 Cdma

Recently bought this model. Wanted to install java app on this phone, samsung phones only allow java app installation OTA (from browser) & saw that the phone does not have a browser. I wish i would have visited the forum before. Has anybody tried installing java app on this phone. Also - after putting OMH sim, Home -> Air Services -> Brew option changed to Home -> Air Services -> R-world . There is no option of browsing inside R-world. Is the setting correct ? Or is there something wrong with the OMH sim ?
  2. LG RD 6210 - Open Market Handset

Isnt LG 6300 Open market handset is there in market for quite sometime now ?
  3. Hi, Has anybody tried installing java application in any of 3xxx (like 3500, 3510, 3600 etc) or 6xxx (6100, 6200 etc) series LG CDMA phone ? Does reliance let you install application from outside R-world ? For those who want to try, they can try installing one from http://minkle.in/m/private.php . Open the url in your phone browser & click on 'Download Minkle' to install the application. I am looking for a cheap LG java enabled phone on which a java application can be installed & works fine outside the R-world. Your help would be much appreciated. Thanks Ashish P.S. - the application is professional & completely safe. It has tested to work fine on most of the GSM phones & high end CDMA phones like Blackberry & HTC (courtsey - Vikas & Hitesh from the forum)
  4. So is it safe to conclude that 3rd party app can not be installed on LG 6100 using bitpim etc ?
  5. Are you testing Minkle install on LG 6100 or is it some other CDMA phone ? The error you are mentioning does not seem to occur because of the app, looks like more of the bitpim/internal stuff. Correct me if i am wrong.
  6. Also, please tell what error you are getting ? I might be able to guide you better. Thanks
  7. Hi Amit, Do you mean that LG 6100 is not OMH mobile & comes inbuilt with reliance firmware like R-world etc & can not be modified by bitpim ? Had chat with Hitesh & he told me the difference between RUIM & OMH handset. Thanks for your time again. If you can clarify it would definitely help newbies like us . Ashish
  8. Hi Ashok, Do you have a LG 6100 & you tried installing Minkle by modifying R-world jar to accommodate to allow Minkle ? Thanks for telling bitpim, i did not know of any such software. What error Minkle installation gave on the phone, we have used messaging/sms jsr etc in the application. The java on 6100 might not support them (similar case as that of HTC mobile). Can you try installing the Minkle for HTC phone. Thanks a lot for your effort & time, please let me know the outcome. You can reach me directly at ashish@minkle.in via email/gtalk or 95 3838 4545 on mobile. Ashish
  9. Hi Hitesh, As i told you before, the requirement is for a client. They already have a tie-up with reliance & they would procure the handsets themselves, we just need to suggest a handset model to them. Not sure if bb7130 would come up that cheap if bought from the regular sales channel. Correct me if i am wrong. I posted the thread after our discussion, only because nokia 3125 does not have a camera. Going ahead, the client has the requirement of the application being able to take a picture, store it & then send it over the air to our server. Since LG 6100 has a camera, i thought it would be a better bet. I posted the question to see if media access JSR are supported in LG 6100. To access camera, start & stop, JSR 135 needs to be implemented in the j2me version of the phone. There is absolute no documentation on what all JSR LG phones implement, so it is getting kind of frustrating for us to figure it all out. Hence i posted the thread to see if we get any LG phone guys who can help us testing the mobile app. Thanks again for your time. Ashish
  10. Hi Amit, Thanks for commenting & sorry for delayed response. Somehow i did not get an email intimation of reply being posted on the thread. Ya, we were planning to buy the handset to test, i did not know if it was that easy to sell, but now since you have told the same, i think we would go ahead & do it. I was trying to check with people who already have the phone. One doubt - from whatever knowledge i have about the new RUIM based phones (like LG 6100), there is no default firmware etc. Is it like - if i purchase the handset from reliance web-world, there would be the default firmware which would not let open any other site except R-world. What if, the handset is bought from outside & RUIM is being put from reliance. Will it then be able to access other websites ? These questions might look dumb, but i am pretty much a newbie when it comes to CDMA & reliance. We would definitely buy a handset once we know things a little better, so that we dont end up buying 2-3 different kind of handsets because of lack of knowledge. Ashish
  11. Hi guys, If you have LG 6100 or any other java enabled reliance CDMA phone with camera under the price of Rs 5000 and you are in mumbai/bangalore, we would need your help to test a few things on your phone. We would pay you for your help/time. We are ready to come down to your place to get the required testing done. We have a java application which we need to test on such a phone before suggesting the same to our client. If everything goes fine, we might as well buy the handset, you can quote your own price for the same . Interested people can reach me at 95 3838 4545 with your hourly rate . Ashish
  12. Lg3610

Hi, anybody using the model 3610, does it support java ? Has anybody installed a java application on the phone ?
  13. Hi all, I have developed a java application, it can be downloaded from the link - http://minkle.in/m/download.php?jad=Minkle.jad . I do not have a reliance CDMA phone but i would be going to ask friends/acquaintances who have reliance CDMA phone to test to make sure it works on CDMA phones. I would like to know :- 1. If any 3rd party java application can be downloaded on any reliance CDMA java enabled phone ? 2. If not, is there any registration process that suppose to be followed with reliance ? 3. The application connects to external server through GPRS & also sends/receive SMS. I hope java has the required access to do the things mentioned on reliance CDMA phones. Correct me if i am wrong. Thanks for your inputs. Ashish
  14. yes it is free. The sms based service like IRCTC would not work though in your version.
  15. Thanks a lot Hitesh, that is a great news .
  16. data transfer is not happening thru gsm channel, your software will work on any phone, only that sms part of the software will not work on most cdma phones, as in cdma sms technology is diffrent than GSM (SMS handling ) I have tested you other gsm software which dont have sms part, it works like charm , Also you dont worry about cdma or gsm software, there is no such thing like software for cdma or software for gsm (for general software) we are using same version on google apps on gsm and cdma, on both it works perfect. (e.g gmail java app) will give a try to this new software which you said you have removed sms part from it, is it same which i tested yesterday night ? Yes correct that is the same software in which we have removed the sms code. Choose the HTC version of Minkle please. Advance thanks
  17. We have put up a new version for HTC mobile by removing all the messaging/sms code at http://minkle.in/m/private.php . Do give it a shot & let me know if you have any issues. Thanks
  18. Hey Vikas - sounds good man . Can you go to Apps & try using any of the apps- like bollywood or astrology. I just want to know if the data transfer over GPRS (1x in the case of reliance network) is happening fine. It would show 'Getting data' when it contacts server for data exchange. Please let me know if it worked fine on your reliance phone. Thanks a lot for your help man . Ashish Hi Vikas, Hitesh might be correct in quoting that data transfer might happen from the GSM channel. Can you try installing & running Minkle with the GSM card removed so that it is for sure that all the things are happening via the CDMA channel. Thanks again for your help. Ashish
  19. Please do not use 'SMS Chat', it does not use 1x data & completely works on sms. It would not work on reliance network at all i think. You may use 'Bollywood News & Gossip' or 'Astrology & Horoscope'. They would be ideal to use to see if it is working. Thanks
  20. Hey Vikas - sounds good man . Can you go to Apps & try using any of the apps- like bollywood or astrology. 21. Did some research to come across http://forums.java.net/jive/message.jspa?messageID=330085 . The RAP API support that we have used in the app is built in only on reliance handset & not the normal CDMA handset using reliance SIM. So i think the app would not work on your phone. Try the normal GSM app, i think it should work.
  22. Vikas, just a quick suggestion - can you delete the old Minkle & try installing the Minkle for GSM phone on your mobile. After talking to Hitesh, it looks like the normal version of Minkle (if installed) should work fine on Reliance network too. I would wait to know if it worked fine for you. Once installed, please access any App apart from SMS Chat app to see if it works. The data exchange would take sometime (15-30 sec) & it would show 'Getting Data' on the screen. Thanks & i would wait for your response. Ashish
  23. Hi Vikas, This is little strange. Guess we need to get hold of a phone ourselves to figure out a solution. Thanks for your help
  24. So you mean - your handset is not from reliance. But you are using it with reliance network. So there is no API support on your phone ? is that correct ? Can you tell more about the handset & how you getting it to use with reliance network. I have visited the reliance communication office in bangalore & spoke to a customer care representative. I told him about our application. He told me that to make the application work on reliance phones/network, reliance API need to be used. How are you using 1x data ? You doing normal browsing from R-world or you using some applications which you have downloaded from R-world ? Are there any 3rd party applications that you are using like Minkle - which you have installed separately & not from R-world ?
  25. Again i am newbie on this, so could be wrong. But looks like, for any TCP data to go & come back from reliance handset, the reliance API need to be used. The Minkle for GSM phones, use the normal tcp data, but it is failing to work on reliance CDMA handsets. Did i answer your question ?
