Regarding education, just get reminded of APJ Abdul Kalam. Born as a son of poor fisher man..........rest, everyone knows........

I've seen foolish statements were made Prannoy Roy of NDTV against linking non-auction of 2G spectrum vs subsidies in food and fertilizers. He says food and fertilizer subsidies are given to poor people and by not auctioning 2G subsidy is given to corporates. What an ill-educated comment is this? Who is the beneficiary of 'first-come-first-serve'(not auctioning 2G)? new telecom players. Who is responsible for competition in telecom sector? new telecom players What is the effect of competition? lowest tariff in the world What is effect of lowest tariff? poorest of poor in India is communicating through mobile What is effect of such afford-ability? Country is able to withstand one of the greatest depression and still able to keep the GDP at very good level. In essence, the key and real beneficiaries of 'First-come-First-Serve' is Indians who struggle everyday to keep themselves alive. so Let us stop this non-sense once for all. There is absolutely no loss to the country due to 'First-come-First-serve'. "First-come-First-serve" is the real hero behind our telecom revolution. Don't kill it just for the sake somebody's ill-thought out calculations. They've realized the truth already(through the TRAI's market price calculation) still clinging on to it for the sake of "EGO". Journalists, Politicians everyone is affected by EGO-flu. No one is dare to accept that they've made a mistake. After all, we're talking about a breed(of Bharka Dutt) who refused to apologize in her own television channel when given a chance. I beg with these journalists to move away from their cosy rooms and visit the people of rural India then they can realize the benefits of "First-come-First-serve" 'Auction' in 2G is utter non-sense and it's promoted through 'paid' media by big wigs only to kill the competition. The focus should and must only be on the procedural irregularities committed by DoT in following "first-come-first-serve". There is an suspicion that some companies jumped the queue which must be identified and corrected. Don't waste media space and political space by clinging on to stupid theory of 'loss to exchequer' only to save your 'egos'.

Dear Friend, I'm talking about Airtel but you've migrated out of RGSM. I can't understand what you mean......

Dear friend, cool cool..... Apple accepted Windows in their products is only due to their 'popularity' and has nothing to do with closed or open systems. Android is Linux in 'technology' but it is like windows in 'popularity'. Obviously, if Android continues the current speed then Apple has no other option but to accept Android as an option in addition to their iOS. Another important thing, a business which grows will always try to growth further. By accepting Android, Iphones will only grow further and further in reach with 2 flavors and certainly Apple will mint out of that opportunity. after all, 2 years is not too far....just, wait and watch......

That's called cartel effect. If you've opted between Idea and Vodafone, Airtel will not have any issue. Aircel, TATA, RCOM, Uninor etc., Airtel will invent reasons out of box for not allowing.

BSNL Revises its Data Tariffs for 2G & 3G Plans
kesav replied to Honest's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
I am very sad although it is expected after seeing foolish 3G plans from private operators...... -
No offence at all...... Same thing('not friends') has been said about Microsoft and Apple for long long time. Eventually Apple started allowing windows in their systems. In business, there is no permanent friend or enemy. It's all about profits. Hold on my dear friend, come back after 2 years to this same thread, let us see what had happened then.....

Possible....... I'm not an expert, just my opinion with limited experience/knowledge as I'm nowhere in the supply chain of mobile phones... Let us see what our HW experts in RIMWEB has to say on it....

Let me clarify one thing. Any contractual obligation on the mobile 'numbers' is illegal. 'Numbers' belong to DoT and they are given for free to operators to supply it free for subscribers. In the first place, it's illegal to charge customers on premium numbers and it's further illegal to block customers from carrying such numbers in the pretext of contractual obligation on premium numbers. Please do write to DoT and TRAI in case any one has been blocked from using MNP purely because of premium numbers.

I'm bit confused with flow of thoughts in this thread. Is it iOS vs Android or iPhone vs Android? I feel it should be iOS vs Andriod then it's easy to compare and discuss. iPhone as a HW stands tall(build quality, finish etc.,) and there's no match for that HW in this world. Latest iOS, I feel still an inch better than latest Android. May be that gap is fast reducing and certainly Android will rule as best OS in near future. History has always proved that open systems and architectures are more robust and secure than closed systems. IMHO, Android in Iphone is not a distant dream. I feel that is the ultimate thing to happen. Best HW marries best SW. After all, Android in Iphone is a win-win situation for Apple and Google.

BlackBerry, Skype, Gmail and now 3G come under the scanner of Indian Government

Enable interception or stop BlackBerry services: Govt to telcos source :: http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/tech/hardware/enable-interception-or-stop-blackberry-services-govt-to-telcos/articleshow/7487217.cms Finally and finally Govt shows that it cares for the safety and security of people of India. :signthankspin: From the beginning, It has been insisted by several people that Govt has nothing to do with RIM. It's totally unnecessary on the part of Govt to work with RIM. It's a matter between service providers and RIM. Govt just want capability to hard real-time monitor everything flowing in the network of all the operators to the satisfaction of law enforcement agencies. end of the story... It's onus on the operators to deal with their application partners to ensure only such services are allowed in their network. :locked: If BES is shutdown for a day/week, then the solution will immediately be flying from Canada in the next flight. :rofl_200: -

Reliance Jio - Pan India 4G / LTE network

Verizon Prepares First 4G Mobile Voice Service, Dubbed "VoLTE" http://www.dailytech.com/Verizon+Prepares+First+4G+Mobile+Voice+Service+Dubbed+VoLTE/article20865.htm I've picked up this article to highlight 2 things. 1) VoLTE may touch the shores of India before it's implemented in USA if Infotel launches service by this year end. With VoLTE, Infotel does not need separate spectrum for voice and hence it can become full-fledged mobile operator. 2) VoRA update on Verizon Iphone & corresponding n/w upgrade is going to happen soon. Let us pray that our CDMA operators will bring that technology to India so that EVDO customers can also enjoy video chats. -
This is at the top of everything what we've seen so far...... BJP too ignored warning: Shourie source :: http://www.hindustantimes.com/rssfeed/NewDelhi/Shourie-says-BJP-too-ignoring-scam/Article1-661683.aspx BJP former minister blaming BJP top leaders of having nexus with 2G beneficiaries.... :rofl_200: Surely, we're not reaching close to the investigations in this game. These irregularities have started well before the Shourie...... These were running probably from 2001 unhindered till they found a scapegoat in the name of Raja to dumb everything on him for others to escape.............. In nutshell, Raja was not as intelligent as his predecessors from 2001 in running revenue(for parties) earning ministry...... :jumpy: :jumpy: I can guarantee Mahajan, Shourie, Maran & Raja, everyone was operated by one or the other telecom operator.
