  1. Dual Sim Motorola Milestone XT 800

I couldn't quite understand your statement 'CDMA has no good data plan on mobile!' http://www.tataphoton.com/tata-photon-on-mobile.aspx Can any 3G plan (except for promotional BSNL tariff) in India can match the above tariff? May be at the moment RCOM & MTS do not have such tariffs for OMH RUIMs, but they've to fall in line sooner than later. http://www.tataindicom.com/tatazone-internet-pack.aspx Considering the user experience difference between 1x and EDGE, I feel the above tariff for 1x data on mobile is also quite competitive.

  3. Dual Mode 3G Handsets

After BB 9630/9650, Motorola Droid Pro, now I've to Motorola Droid 2 Global http://www.motorola.com/Consumers/US-EN/Consumer-Product-and-Services/Mobile-Phones/ci.DROID2-Global-US-EN.alt
  4. CDMA iPhone 4 Is Here!

The launch date is 10th Feb 2011 as per Apple. :confuse: http://www.apple.com/iphone/notify-me/
  5. Dual Sim Motorola Milestone XT 800

All the specifications posted leads to one conclusion that it's not a HSDPA phone but rather 2G-CDMA/GSM 3G-EVDO only. It's just similar to It's a real disappointment. @me_saket, it cannot challenge Bold 9650 since 9650 is fully dual mode. 2G-CDMA/GSM 3G-EVDO/HSDPA But, 9650 can hold only one SIM/RUIM at a time either CDMA or GSM but not both.
  6. I think you're the luckiest then. For an average GSM user, he'll never get such a speed. EDGE speed is also more sporadic in nature, in the sense you may get such speeds intermittently but never consistently. Enjoy the luck you've got...............
  7. Sorry, I didn't see that moving thing. Thanks for clarification. @kapilthio Can you clarify whether your speedtest.net results are in bps and not Bps? GSM requires more towers than CDMA. Hence it's not necessary that your CDMA & GSM signals are coming from same tower. As for as RCOM is concerned, mostly you'll have more BTS congestion in CDMA compared to GSM.
  8. Actual porting process starts only after you've provided your UPC to recipient operator. I think you can send SMS to get new UPC again which may comply with TRAI's new direction.
  9. SMS to 1900 must be at subscriber's current local SMS tariff -- TRAI UPC must be valid for 15 days for circles other than J&K, Assam and NE where it must be valid for 30 days -- TRAI
  10. Dear Friends, Has anyone tried this out? http://www.mtsindia.in/ownyourproduct/
  11. Most of said rejections in Haryana happened To rectify such confusion, TRAI had revised the UPC(unique Porting Code) regulations through the below direction. http://www.trai.gov.in/WriteReadData/trai/upload/Directives/143/MNPdirect21jan11final.pdf The change lies in last 6 characters of 8-character UPC. Now the last 6 characters can only be of numerals 1-9. Earlier those 6 characters can be of alpha-numeric in the range 1-9, A-N & P-Z.
  12. It was an open offer but at much higher price of Rs. 3000 and not at Rs. 1998 Now that offer is no more.
  13. Reliance Broadband+ Wi-Fi Pocket Router

Yes. For example, if you've connected BSNL landline broadband(eg. you're on 1 Mbps plan) and RCOM EVDO USB modem (3.1 Mbps) then when both are working fine, then you'll get total speed of 4.1 Mbps If one fails, then it'll automatically shifts the traffic on failed one to the one which is working
  14. This could only be a special offer provided to you after seeing your usage pattern. Certainly not available in open market. RCOM may provide much better offer if you can show them your usage pattern.
  15. My dear friend, the offer is very new..... 1x data is always better than EDGE data..... If EDGE performs better than 1x within identical environment(same time, same distance to BTS, same BTS congestion), it could only be in one's mid summer noon dream. @KumaarShah, 'customised website worth Rs. 3000 free' is not mentioned in their website.
  16. All that means BIS & BIM will be allowed but BES will blocked from 1st Feb 2011. Let us pray & hope that our Govt. has enough muscles to get what it wants from these adamant thugs. Why on earth Govt. is so worried about blocking a service like BES which is used by minutest of minute population of India? Will corporate India not survive without BES? Has Govt. ever shown such room of flexibility and involved in such long negotiation before blocking certain essential services like prepaid service in J&K ??? :confuse: :confuse:
  17. RCOM's video call pricing is out. http://www.rcom.co.in/Rcom/personal/3G/HTML/VideoCalling.html As expected, it's on the higher side with 5p/sec for local and 7p/sec for STD. For GSM-3G, BSNL/MTNL is the best choice.
  18. RCOM touches 500 mark in EVDO coverage. Absolutely miraculous achievement. http://www.rcom.co.in/Rcom/personal/internet/wireless_internet_coverage.html Other than BSNL, RCOM is the numero uno operator in terms of 3G coverage ( 500 cities/towns in EVDO + 4 Mega cities in HSDPA). :cheer: :cheer: :hi2: :hi2: :hi2: PS:: @Kanaga, Sivakasi is in RCOM's EVDO coverage In yet another market breaking initiative RCOM has slashed its EVDO USB price from Rs. 2399 to Rs. 1599 http://www.rcom.co.in/Rcom/personal/internet/wireless_internet.html
  19. Reliance Broadband+ Wi-Fi Pocket Router

The pricing is atrocious. http://www.olivetelecom.in/olive-nexus-vr9-wireless-router/ (Rs. 3499) + http://www.rcom.co.in/Rcom/personal/internet/wireless_internet.html (Rs. 1599) = Rs. 5098 Can do the same job. Also Olive Nexus can also be used with any other operator's USB modem. Hope some sense prevails in the pricing team of RCOM.
  20. Here's MNP clarification for J&K subscribers. http://dot.gov.in/as/MNP/MNP_17.01.2011.pdf It's really disheartening to note that our J&K friends cannot even SMS in their prepaid service.
  21. Television Orders - TRAI

Here's the judgement of TDSAT on the petition filed by broadcasters. http://tdsat.nic.in/16.12.2010/ANo.3©of10.htm On the first look, Judgement set aside only one section of the directions viz "All pay channels in the addressable system to be cheaper by minimum of 65% than their corresponding rate in non addressable system" Detailed analysis to follow.
  22. Television Orders - TRAI

Airtel Digital had launched channels on A-la-carte basis from Jan 1. http://airtel.in/alacarte/  Now we've 3 operators on A-la-Carte bandwagon viz Sun Direct, Airtel & TATA Sky.
  23. Television Orders - TRAI

TATA Sky launches all channels in A-la-Carte basis under the name "Make My Pack". Just choose the channels you want, only condition is to ensure that your total value is greater than or equal to Rs. 150. Minimum subscription period for a channel under A-la-carte is 90 days. http://tatasky.com/channel-packages-mypack.html Way to go...... Just pay for what you want to watch..... Looks like DTH operators are towing the line as stipulated by TRAI one by one.

  25. If this case had been taken up by another bench other than the one which is monitoring CBI investigation then I'll consider this move by SC as unnecessary. Hope the original bench will order the merger of this case along with the one which its hearing already. It's not good to confuse public by running too many cases on the same issue like grinding the already ground flour. What India wants is meaningful Judiciary and not parallel dramas in court rooms with same story but with different screen plays.
