The information of 10 deaths per day is utterly shocking. Something must be done immediately to prevent it. As a contry we should have zero-tolerance to the death of human being whether it's carelessness of victim or carelessness of killer. For heaven sake, don't highlight(since I'm weak hearted) how many deaths happen on roads everyday in India then we may wonder that in India everyday there is one Hiroshima or Nagasaki. Roads in India are sure path ways to God. The article's method of comparing Bhopal Gas tragedy against Mumbai suburban deaths is totally uncalled for. Both are quite important and critical issues and both has to be dealt with seriousness which those deserve. One cannot take shelter by quoting the inaction on the other.

Idea Cellular Flags off Dedicated 3G Webpage and starts MNP Campaign

The ads are really good..... Whether Idea deserves it or not is a separate issue..... -
Everything was going fine till CAG submitted its report. CAG is correct in saying that there's revenue loss(although calibrated value is totally unrealistic). As an auditor it's their responsibility to higlight the missed revenue streams in govt. departments. It's not in CAG's purview to decide whether missing that revenue stream is correct or not except for financial angle. It's duty of the PAC(Public Accounts Committee) to review the report and submit it to the parliament where it has to be debated against the sociological benefits country has received by losing that particular revenue stream. It's unfortunate that India having filled with such intellectually-challenged and useless opposition parties, whole genuine process of review by PAC and further submission to parliament has been unnecesarily halted and democracy is in grinding halt for last 10 days. It's total shame on opposition to ask for JPC which if constituted will bypass PAC(which in itself is a parliamentary committee)........... Let us hope Govt. will stand strong and dismiss opposition's JPC request. Otherwise, it'll set a very bad precedent of bypassing all constitutional setups like PAC and other subcommittees of parliament......

Govt plans to recover market value of spectrum from new entrants source :: http://telecomtiger.com/PolicyNRegulation_fullstory.aspx?passfrom=topweekendstory§ion=S174&storyid=10290 If this idea ia actually contemplated in the corridors of power, then it's a stupid move. Applying new regulations retrospectively will not stand in the court of law. The argument that there's loss to the Govt. should be weighed against the factual value how much customer has saved due to such moves(increased competition due to new players). It has to be weighed against how many new citizens have tasted the fruits of telecom due to the such moves(service afforability for ultra poor people due to new players). Even the money saved by citizen is money gained for the country.

RIM's poor rating is not at all surprising. It's the least expected. RIM neither listens to the Govts(on security issues) nor to customers(on user experience). Its attitude towards different Govts across the globe is enough to drive the customers away from Balckberry.

Please mention the circle you're talking about. Don't generalize it to India. Vodafone service is total waste in many circles although Airtel is above average in most circles.

TATA Indicom Reintroduces Internet Packs

Common on my dear friend, EDGE is no match for CDMA 1X. You might have never used most of the applications in your list if you were in EDGE. So obviously CDMA 1X will priced higher than EDGE for better user experience. -

What is the use in changing logo? Still Airtel's website is the worst of all operators. Even MTS( a new kid in the block) fares well in comparison

CAG Report Indicts Raja and Anil Ambani
kesav replied to Himanshu Singh's topic in Indian Telecom / General News
Initial flipping over the report brings out the following facts (1) The only meaningful faults identified are the change in the procedure from 'pure FCFS' to 'FCFS based on meeting LOI conditions' and some invalid applications at the time of grant of licenses (2) Report is basically targeted against the minister by puposely trying to shield bureacrats(category to which CAG belongs) in the DoT. This kind of personal attack instead of issue based attack is unprecedented in the history of functioning of constitutional institutions like CAG (3) Most of the figures are just hypothetical calculations based on 3G auctions without understading the technology difference and the circumstances which led to high price of 3G (4) CAG has tried to shield itself from attack of the public by giving token appreciation for PM although everyone knows the whole scenerio of telecom was always there in the table of PM Further analyis to follow..... -

RIM to surrender on India BlackBerry access source :: http://www.v3.co.uk/v3/news/2273252/rim-india-emails This proves law of land is superior to anything in the world. It's a blow to the people who thinks law can be bend with help of money power. Kudos to the Govt. for remaining strong against the vicious and high-handed attitude exhibited by RIM while dealing this matter. This is the singal to the western world that Indian laws are as strong as the strongest you can see in western world. -
TATA to get spectrum in Delhi source :: http://www.financialexpress.com/news/Raja-had-planned-to-grant-more-2G-spectrum/712752/ TATA gets preference due to dual-tech license which it holds.... Good news for Delhi people since they can enjoy TATA Docomo...

Change in Logo must be accompanied by change in attitude. Postive attitude towards customers. Otherwise, current slide cannot be arrested/averted.

Didn't Want To Bribe My Way Into Airline Business: Ratan Tata
kesav replied to kesav's topic in The Lounge
Nobody here says TATA is not behind money. After all they too are business people. Most of the people here has common understanding that they're not inclined to bribing their way out. After all, business without bribe should be possible and probably TATA is the one and only example for that in corporate India. As for as environmental issues are concerned, TATA is having problems in many recent projects. Environmental issues (vs Industrialization) are quite new for the whole world, so let us give some time for corporate India to habituate themselves for doing business within green parameters. I'm pretty much sure TATA might have already setup a separate wing for environmental issues for new upcoming projects and expansions. -
TDSAT reserved orders on 20th Sep 2010 but till date no judgement. Is it takes 60 days to write a judgement? Is TDSAT bribed by DTH players to delay judgement indefinitely? Where are the hopeless and directionless opposition? Where are the stupid bribed media? Where is the Supreme Court? Why are they(opposition, media, apex court) not raising their voice(better to say "noise") on this highly important issue? They've only time to spend on hypothetical issue like 2G scam. They(Oppostion, Media) get money from corporates only for such stupid non-existing issues like 2G scam where their sole purpose is to remove the minister. They'll get beaten up by corporates if they raise their "noise" for pro-consumer things like a-la-carte pricing, MNP, poor performance of BSNL etc.,
