  4. Here is the clear information. source :: http://telecomtalk.info/bsnl-unlimited-3g-data-plan-now-at-just-rs-700/45358/ I feel sad that I've recently purchased Huawei E176 for Rs.3424 (Modem Cost) + Rs.326 (Free BSNL SIM + FRC) = RS.3750 At that time cost of Linktop(LW273) 7.2 Mbps Triband modem was Rs. 3000 and I thought paying Rs. 400 for brand Huawei(and its added features) is worth. Since due to this announcement LW273 has become Rs. 2500, I hope there'll be fall in the price of E176 in the market.
  5. WiBro is South Korean name for mobile Wimax(802.16e) which Govt. has recently auctioned. Tikona has started offering this service in metros well before the auction similar to Reliance's, TATA's WiMax. But I feel somewhere I've read that these trial frequencies have been asked to be surrendered to DoT before the auctions. If that is true, then Tikona has won only in Gujarat, Rajasthan, UP(E), UP(W) & HP. So I feel they've to close operations in other cities like Delhi,Mumbai,Chennai,Kolkata,Bengaluru,Hyderabad etc., Please shoot a mail to TRAI/DoT regarding the validity of Tikona's service in non-licensed circles before taking it.
  6. It looks like this offer is only for new customers. If that's the case, I'm really disappointed........ BSNL 3G data has short-term plans like 1 day, 3 days, 7 days and various normal plans of 30 days. Biggest miss in BSNL's 3G data kitty was long term plan like 2 months, 3 months, 6 months, 12 months. Now, BSNL has filled that gap but unfortuantely only for new customers.

  11. I feel and hope within next 2 years, all the CDMA BTSes in the country to be breathing EVDO Rev. A. So coverage-wise, it is not a worry at all. Regarding the cost of EVDO handset, day by day it's becoming cheaper, it has already reached below Rs. 5000 mark. One and only way we can peneretrate broadband in India is through broadband in mobile. For that purpose, 3G(EVDO or HSDPA or both) enabled handsets are must. In the present context, any handset above Rs. 3000 must have EVDO or HSDPA as the case may be. It's a an old story. BSNL is strongly promoting EVDO in mobiles these days.

  18. There are lot and lot of monitoring devices available in grey market which can be used to intercept/monitor the calls and are specifically used to hook onto politicians and businessmen mobiles. These devices can hook onto any mobile phone within its radius of some metres. Landline interception is quite easy as you might have seen in lot of movies.
  19. TATA has EVDO coverage around 80 cities/towns. RCOM has EVDO coverage around 67 cities/towns. MTS has coverage around 80 cities/towns. BSNL has coverage around 200 cities/towns. Not all operators coverage is mutually inclusive.
