It's an OMH compatible phone. Information source??
-
Yes, as per latest spec available on their site it's OMH complaint Rev. A phone. They've updated the specs to 3.1 Mbps compared to the initial one on their site(2.4 Mbps). I've also modifed the first post of this thread accordingly. Thanks suvirajshetty for bringing it to the notice. It's the one and only OMH based Rev. A phone available in the market. Kudos to LG !! Admins, Kinldy modify the topic description to "EVDO Rev.A OMH handset" instead of "EVDo Rev.0 OMH handset"

source :: http://telecomtalk.info/tata-docomo-gets-a-year-older/30377/  Entry of TATA Docomo is very significant event in the telecom history of the nation. Nothing and nothing has been so stromy as TATA Docomo's entry into the market. To certain extent Reliance's initial entry can be compared. There'll be certainly huge influx into TATA Docomo's n/w as soon as MNP starts. Long live TATA Docomo.

BlackBerry, Skype, Gmail and now 3G come under the scanner of Indian Government
kesav replied to faizone's topic in Indian Telecom / General News
Well said my dear friend. Privacy in electronified world is a cruel joke. In this e-world, you're filmed 24X7. There will be a time when cameras will film you even in public toilets. Govt. has every right for the lawful interception of communication. It is also easy for the companies to comply with if they've will to do it. What I don't like from Govt. is sometimes they show partiality wrt western companies against eastern companies. That is totally meaningless and unjustifiable. If chinese/korean/japanese companies can install spyware certianly US/Europe companies can do. -

PMO Directs Telecom Min. To Take Law Ministry's Advice On 2G Issue A very good move by PMO. It's highly important to consult law ministry since DoT's arbitrary shifting of cut-off date was slammed earlier by supreme court.

India Bans Chinese Mobile Phone Imports
kesav replied to faizone's topic in Indian Telecom / General News
Tatas cry foul over ban on Chinese vendors A very valid and meaningful cry from TATA. Hope Mr. Raja is listening. Atleast in this matter, he steps in quickly and remove the unwanted and unjustifiable advantage which western infrastructure vendors are enjoying in the Indian telecom market. -
Dot Rings Mobile Number Portability

DoT concerned at delay on number portability source:: http://www.thehindubusinessline.com/2010/06/28/stories/2010062851420200.htm It's atrocious on the part of DoT for not being able to enforce it on operators. Looks like operators are dictating terms and DoT being tossed around. -
Anil Sardana annouces launch of TATA Photon ++ (EVDO Rev.B (3 carriers))in partnership with Olive. source:: http://voicendata.ciol.com/content/news/110062802.asp  TATA is racing ahead in data market with faster speed and newer technologies. It clearly indicates that their 3G deployment is in EvDO and may not be in HSDPA. We've to see what route they'll take for 4G.

Big Bazaar To Launch MVNO
kesav replied to ravi_patent's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
Dear Admins, Kindly change the topic name since Big Bazaar and TATA partnership is not MVNO. Franchise agreement. MVNO is still not allowed in India. -
PMO calls for review of TRAI recommendations by an inter-ministerial panel source:: http://telecomtiger.com/PolicyNRegulation_fullstory.aspx?storyid=9528§ion=S174 We hope and pray EGOM will make speedy and operator neutral decision instead of being influenced by Cartel's (Airtel,Vodafone & Idea) paid media campaign. Let EGOM ensures natural justice will prevail over influenced(by Cartel) justice. Let EGOM ensures that the regulatory power of one India's finest regulator(TRAI) is not being eroded by lobbyist like Nira Wadia(who works for business thugs like Sunil Mittal). Let the core spirit behind the TRAI's recommendations "neutrality and equality" previals.

AUSPI blames COAI for delay in resolving import ban of Chinese products source:: http://telecomtiger.com/PolicyNRegulation_fullstory.aspx?passfrom=breakingnews&storyid=9531§ion=S174 This is clear indication on how much Cartel(Airtel,Vodafone & Idea) will stoop their head to stiffle competition. Earlier they were runing paid campaign in the electronic media agianst TRAI on 2G recommendations Now they are playing delaying tactic knowing clearly that it'll affect their competitors. Hopeless Idiots !! -
Broadband Wireless Auction (BWA) Results
kesav replied to kesav's topic in Indian Telecom / General News
ofcourse... Currently 4G handsets are very less (Like HTC EVO, Samsung Epic and so on...) compared to 3G handsets. We can be rest assured that by the time pvt. operators launch 4G in India, the market will be flooded with 4G handsets. -

Companies to get BWA spectrum ‘immediately’ source:: http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/infotech/internet/Companies-to-get-BWA-spectrum-immediately/articleshow/6092727.cms This is another nail in the coffin of 3G in India. 4G spectrum to be alloted to companies nearly 2 months ahead of 3G spectrum. It's totally waste of money and time for any operators to invest in 3G when competitors are already launching 4G. -

News: Mts Mblaze Rates Slashed.
kesav replied to SumitVerma's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
Unlike landline, in wireless there's very little scope for operator to influence the speed. Infrastructure of any operator is almost from identical vendors (Huwei,ZTE on CDMA side). Max speed is dependent on implemented protocol(EVDO Rev.0, Rev.A ,Rev. B etc..). Average speed dependent on the distance from BTS and congestion in the n/w. BSNL CDMA n/w is almost without any voice users and least congested. -
Can anyone test EVO on BSNL's WiMAX n/w ?

Still BSNL's Rs. 827.25(Rs.750+tax) unlimited for 3.1 Mbps (EVDO Rev. A) rules the data market. No FUP http://bsnl.co.in/service/internet_on_cdma.htm#evdo_ad -
