Dear Admins, Kindly move this topic to some other folder since Infotel neither belongs to RCOM nor ADAG group

  13. We're at the end of successful auction of 3G & 4G spectrum. Now it's time for the TRAI and DoT to act on policy matters. In case of DoT, there are recommendations lying in its table on VoIP provided by TRAI. DoT...Can you please dust it before it becomes fodder for termites. TRAI.....It's high time for you to provide recommendations on auctioning extra carriers for EVDO. It'll help CDMA players to start EVDO Rev. B. Regulations are like medicine. It's important for it be dosed at right time at right quantity. Hope TRAI and DoT listening.....
  14. It's very simple like that. But there is a small policy issue. Current UASL methodology has initial start-up 2G spectrum bundled with it. Due to which many UASL licenses are pending before DoT since 2G spectrum is unavailable currently. If TRAI recommends to DoT in a such way that they can issue UASL licenses to operators who wish to have only licenses and not 2G spectrum, then that policy issue will also be solved. If any of BWA winners has ISP A license and if they wish to provide cellular telephony they can covert it to UASL license. But if they wish to provide only mobile broadband/IPTV then it's not necessary for them to covert it.
  15. VoIP is banned in India only for the non-UASL license holders(UASL -- telecom operators having license to provide cellular telephony). Our cellular operators have not provided VoIP for to protect their income from celluar operations. Infotel might have got only ISP Category A license but they've right to convert it to UASL by paying the difference. Once done...there's no issue in providing VoIP.

  18. Can you confirm that your device is Rev. A and not Rev.0 ? Are you sure that tested areas are under RCOM's Rev.A BTSs?
  19. It's high time for other winners( read as Aircel, Airtel, Tikona, Augere) to announce the technology platform(WiMax or LTE(TDD)) which they would like to deploy for 4G. It'll help the ecosystem(handsets, telecom infrastructure, applications etc.,) to develop faster. In the meantime we're also anxiously waiting to know whether 3G winners will deploy HSDPA or LTE(FDD) in their 2.1 GHz spectrum.
  20. Here is the ranking of the operators based on total revenue(3G & 4G) yielded by them to Govt. All figures are in Cr INR. 1) Airtel --> 3314.36(4G) + 12295.46(3G) = 15609.82 2) Infotel --> 12847.77(4G) 3) Vodafone --> 11617.86(3G) 4) Aircel --> 3438.01(4G) + 6499.46(3G) = 9937.47 5) Reliance --> 8585.04(3G) 6) TATA --> 5864.29(3G) 7) Idea --> 5768.59(3G) 8) Qualcomm --> 4912.54(4G) 9) Tikona --> 1058.2(4G) 10) Stel --> 337.67(3G) 11) Augere --> 124.66(4G) -------------------------------------------------------- Total --> 76663.91 BSNL --> 8313.8(4G) + 10186.58(3G) = 18500.38 MTNL --> 4533.97(4G) + 6564(3G) = 11097.97 --------------------------------------------------------- Grandtotal --> 106,262.26 If you include BSNL and MTNL in the ranking then BSNL will take pole position (numero uno) and MTNL will take position 5(behind BSNL, Airtel, Infotel and Vodafone). Auctions look like curse on PSUs since they don't have either choice on technology or circles.
  21. As noted earlier this 4G auction clearly gives a chance for green-field 4G alone pan-India operator. RIL has captured that oppurtunity fantastically. :clap: :clap: RIL's statement clealry mentions that they'll be deploying LTE(TDD) in the spectrum. Qualcomm would be very happy for the RIL's LTE(TDD) annoucement although they didn't win much except for Mumbai & Delhi. WiMAX has become a much hyped non-starter in India. Even Airtel played the game safe with acquiring the key and pairing circles(Maharastra(for pairing Mumbai),Kolkata(for pairing West Bengal) & Punjab) which they've missed in 3G for deploying close to pan-India data n/w(probably LTE). Only in Karnataka, they've an overlap.
  22. Here is the ranking of the operators as per the revenues yielded by them to Govt. on BWA auctions. All figures are in Cr INR 1) Infotel --> 12847.77 --> 22 circles 2) Qualcomm --> 4912.54 --> 4 circles 3) Aircel --> 3438.01 --> 8 circles 4) Airtel --> 3314.36 --> 4 circles 5) Tikona --> 1058.2 --> 5 circles 6) Augere --> 124.66 --> 1 circle
  23. Here is the ranking of the circles as per the revenues yielded by them to Govt. on BWA auctions. All figures are in Cr INR 1) Mumbai --> 6878.85 2) Delhi --> 6723.06 3) Tamil Nadu --> 6208.35 4) Karnataka --> 4629.75 5) Andhra Pradesh --> 3177.36 6) Maharastra --> 2746.92 7) Gujarat --> 1841.55 8) Kolkata --> 1569.6 9) Punjab --> 996.81 10) Kerala --> 776.01 11) UP(W) --> 551.61 12) UP(E) --> 427.5 13) Madhya Pradesh --> 373.98 14) Haryana --> 359.7 15) Bihar --> 297.84 16) Rajasthan --> 291.96 17) West Bengal --> 212.91 18) Orissa --> 190.89 19) Assam --> 99.06 20) North East --> 63.81 21) Jammu&Kashmir --> 63.81 22) Himachal Pradesh --> 61.98

  25. Centre keen on nodal vendor for mobile cos source :: http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/news-by-industry/telecom/Centre-keen-on-nodal-vendor-for-mobile-cos/articleshow/6034771.cms Very interesting....Eager to know how they implement it... This is a theoretical proposal. There is no international example of such a model, said the regulatory head of a leading telco. The above statement is ridiculous and insensitive. Why India should always import concepts from other countries? Are we not capable of implementing our own security framework? Everything new in the world will start from theory and moves to concept and then to reality. Use of the word theoretical should be in the positive connotation and certainly not as expressed in the above statement.
