They are bluffing. I have EVDO provisioned RUIM, when I insert in my ZTE AC8700 modem it do not get connected to EVDO. It jut get connected to 1X My dear Friend.....they're not bluffing but you've misunderstood the point a bit. Your ZTE AC8700 Modem is not OMH complaint. That means for data setting, it'll always refer to internal program and not to RUIM. Your device internal setting is for 1X and hence it works in 1X Another important point is if your device does not have capaibility to operate in EvDO then no RUIMs in the world will make it a EvDO device. In your statement, you have said that OMH RUIM works in 1X on your non-OMH device which clearly means it's backward compatible. If the OMH RUIM doesn't work at all in non-OMH devices then you can declare it's as non-compatible.

For pan India 3G coverage, go in for TATA Indicom, RCDMA, MTS, BSNL/MTNL (EVDO route) or BSNL/MTNL(HSDPA route). Not correct. Vodofone has not won in A circles of Andhra and Karnataka. Infact no operator has won all A circles. In contrary Reliance has not won any A circles.
