My only issue with BSNL CDMA is its pathetic coverage. There's also no consolidated list of EVDO coverage towns anywhere in their websites except for circles like Maharastra, Chennai & Kerala. I didn't see any increase of EVDO coverage in the last 2 years.

BSNL has 2 versions similar to TATA Indicom & RCOM CDMA 1) SDCA based 2) Full Mobility SDCA based:: It's similar to TATA Walky and RCOM FWP. It's network locked non-RUIM based bulky instrument which will work in your SDCA only Full Mobility:: It's pure mobile service with all possibilities like roaming etc., It's OMH RUIM based which means you can buy any OMH based devices in the open market and insert BSNL's OMH RUIM which will give 1x data or EVDO depending on your geography. They also sell 1x and EVDO USB modems in full mobility for data usage alone.

As an additional information to this thread, also know about NFC activities in India.

As discussed in some other posts, my trust lies with China Telecom. They've market and strength to force Apple to make it RUIM based, step towards to OMH.

Absolutely....I cannot say anything about communists in WB since I've never visited that state. My dear friend, You're saying the same thing as said by Kim Davy about WB communists. Both of you are on the same side. May be both of you might have spend more than 15 years in that situation so you're able speak with such conviction. What both of you are saying may be fact of state of WB under communists then. I do not want to take sides on that issue. The bigger issue of concern is entirely different. It looks like TATA is hell bend on spoiling OMH as it fears losing customers to RCDMA and MTS due to OMH handsets. If you look at recently launched locked handsets by TATA, you can easily understand it. Micomax EG333 Huawei C7300 V3 Pearl Spice C3300 All these handsets are actually RUIM complaint China Telecom handsets but when manufactures planned to release it in India as OMH complaint, TATA has colluded with manufacturers to lock in return of mass order. On contrary, RCOM & MTS have stopped selling handsets in the entry & mid level and allowed to OMH to prosper. They sell only the US market high end non-RUIM phones which cannot be any made OMH complaint. I am convinced that this non flexible strategy will only drive away more customers out of TATA Indicom.
