Tata Docomo Launched New Stv In Kolkata
kesav replied to Mukeshlst's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
MTS's local at 1p/2 sec for Rs. 30(in all circles) is the industry's best and it's closely followed by Virgin's 30p/min with daily rental of Re.1(in all circles) But anyway, I hope Docomo will launch local night at 1p/3sec in all circles. -
Bsnl Launches Fully Loaded Gsm Prepaid Pack In Tamilnadu
kesav replied to Mukeshlst's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
Here is the official link. http://tamilnadu.bsnl.co.in/Ennanban_plan.pdf The great thing about this plan is base SMS tariff stands at 10p/SMSfor local. BSNL is the first operator to do so In that way it's better plan than 'simply reliance' I hope Reliance will follow suit.... -

Valid Question. Only company which is really promoting OMH is Samsung. No other operators or handset manufacturers are running campaign on OMH. Don't they feel it's their duty to do so..... It's really surprising.. :confuse:

In an astounding move, TRAI inks MOU with MIC(ministry of Internal Affairs and Communication) Japan for learning from each other and growing together. Japan being the technologically numero uno telecom country, TRAI will have lot to learn from MIC on fostering new technologies. India being competitively numero uno telecom country, MIC will have lot to learn from TRAI on soft touch regulatory regime. Hope the spirit of MOU will be maintained with appropriate field actions in the years to come. It’s great on the part of regulators to come together and make a symbiotic move. Source :: http://www.trai.gov.in/WriteReadData/trai/upload/PressReleases/714/pr6jan10no1.pdf PS:: Hope DoT will learn from MIC on how to license and introduce new technologies faster into the country

In your attached pics, I didn't find OMH logo in the SIM. It's present only the throw-away plastic. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Dot Rings Mobile Number Portability
kesav replied to coolrajiv's topic in Mobile Number Portability (MNP)
Here is the official communication by DoT on delay in MNP roll-out http://dot.gov.in/as/MNP/press%20release%20for%20MNP.pdf -
Till date, DoT has not openly said CDMA operators can use their existing spectrum to provide 3G services in any device(inlcuding moile phones). I expect DoT to make policy statement on the above so that it'll clear the mist surrounding the EVDO services. For all the people who wants to know about OMH, please follow the below link

Exactly. I've seen in the post of one of our members mentioning it's a Rev.A What I feel is that it might be a misquotation. I've not seen any official spec mentioning it as Rev.A so for. Samsung Official website mentions only speed of 2.4 Mbps which is basically Rev.0 speed.
-
Not Exactly. Video calling and Live TV are just features which you can use in 3G and certainly does not characterize 3G. 3G is broad term which covers the protocols like EvDO,WCDMA,HSDPA etc., which can provide speed above 1 Mbps CDMA guys are trying back door entry here. They started EVDO in USB modems saying that its just mobile broadband and not 3G in mobile. They in the pretext of improving broadband penetration fooled Govt to accept that argument. Now they're applying same logic here in mobiles too. Now I need Govt. to come clear on this policy. Is operator allowed to provide any service(2G or 3G) with their available spectrum? If yes, then its great thing for CDMA operators. They can kick-start their 3G operations without waiting for auction.
-
Dec 31st has come. No operator is ready with MNP. What will TRAI do now? Will it impose penalty on the operators who are not MNP-ready? Is TRAI ready to exhibit the might of regulator? The following are the expectations 1) TRAI must reduce the termination charge to 0.2p/sec 2) TRAI Should provide broad roadmap(timetable) to zero termination regime 3) TRAI must provide ceiling for the retail SMS price at 5p/SMS (Current base price of 50p/SMS is well above the cost per SMS) 4) TRAI should also provide Ceiling for the retail MMS price (MMS has not seen much growth due to exhorbitant pricing by operators)

same as i expected. thanks to samsung. thanks to tata for enabling evdo. but with EVDO rev A. why it has 2.4 mbps and not 3.1mbps. hetal plz post ur review I think this phone is EVDO Rev.0 and not EVDO Rev.A Even the official site shows only the speed of 2.4 Mbps
-
Not Correct There are lot of 3G phones available in the market. Only interesting thing is TATA has started providing 3G along with the launch of Samsung Corby Speed. As per the information available in public domain, no private operator is allowed to start 3G in mobiles before end of auction. We've to wait for TRAI to say something on this. PS:: OMH has nothing specific to do with 3G
