  3. Cheapest Isd To Uk /europe ?

Rleiance provides at Rs.2.99/min on latest Rs.2250 call card. http://www.reliancecommunications.co.in/Co.../Rm/rm_rwc.html BSNL provides at Rs.4.00/min even at very low cost Rs.100 call card. http://www.bsnl.co.in/newsdetailed.php?news_id=371 Choose whichever you feel comfortable with.
  4. ITU accepts WiMAX as 3G standard. This is a great news..........This means all 3 technologies will be on par when 3G spectrum will be sold in India. 1) HSDPA 2) EvDO 3) WiMax So government cannot give stepmotherly treatment to WiMax. http://www.itwire.com.au/content/view/12648/127/ Now its imperative to sell 2.5 GHz spectrum to WiMax also because it has now become IMT-2000 standard. Some operators' crocodile tears quoting 'sharing spectrum with WiMax will increase interference' should be ignored or the spectrum for other 2 technologies should be moved to higher frequencies. This spectrum is so vital for WiMax to realise its true potential. If India decides to allow WiMax in 2.5GHz then it'll be a launch pad for low cost broadband which our rural brothers would be yearning to experience. Its passport for another telecom revolution with entry of unheard new players due to low capex to deploy WiMax.
  5. New Handset Rd 3000 & Rd 3100

The product note of RD 3000 is available in LG site. http://lgmobiles.com/index_cdma.html But PCSYNC is still unavailable.
  6. Mobile Radio

The nature of the service is through voice channel. It'll not be possible for the operator to give it free voice channel if the subscribtion fee is just Rs.30. If its for just Rs.30/month then all the users will be hooked on and the complete bandwidth will be consumed. Just think this in parallel to CUG where they're providing 2 voice channels at the subsrcibtion of Rs.100(Case:: 2 are in CUG). But CUG is something for which operator need not work in background to buy songs and maintain database. Another loop-hole in this approach is one can record the song if he has the call recording enabled handset and store it in external/internal memory. In this way one can use it to just record the new song. Its a kind of piracy which can happen even for background music and caller tunes. This service I would say as an emergency service which can be used when you're holed up in isolation without any music gadgets. My suggestion to Reliance would be to charge Rs.1/min without any subscription and that would help to avoid cluttering of bandwidth and it also works out on economies of scale due to its affordability. One more suggestion to them is don't ever sell a phone with call recording capability.
  7. Tata Freedom Voucher

This is amazing offer. At the rental of (325/1.1236 - 150) = 139.24, you've onnet free. Any operator can match this.

  9. Reliance Gsm Roll Out?

TRAI has released a consultation paper on review of key license conditions and capping of number of access providers. One of the key point under discussion which is of imporatance to future of Reliance and also to Reliance users like us is **Permitting service providers to offer access services using combination of technology under the same license Guys, Come On !! pour in your ideas and thoughts. Participate in Nation building. You may have the breaking solutions than those "Tied Gentlemen" for yester Generation. This point is also very important for future since you may have three different technologies coming into picture for providing voice, data and broadband services. 1)HSDPA(Hope all GSM operators will deploy this instead of WCDMA) 2)EvDO 3)WiMax All of them has different spectrum needs....The question will arise whether an operator can use all three or only 2(one for voice&data and another for broadband) or only one(both voice, data and broadband). http://www.trai.gov.in/misc_content.asp http://www.trai.gov.in/trai/upload/PressRe...2june07no55.pdf

  11. Nokia Now Sues Qualcomm

Its getting nastier day by day. I think street dogs will behave better than these companies. Nokia is so arrogant that it wants to control whatever whichever realted to telecommunication. It has monopolistic mindset. Qualcomm is greedy that it wants to have control on complete 3G portfolio with its patents and sometimes it wrongly claims certain innovations as its patents although those were never its own invention. I've always dreamed of a situation when Nokia & Qualcomm will work together. Just imagine how fast we'll be moving in telecommunication in that hypothetical situation. Now I beleive that'll never happen in my life-time.

  20. Bsnl Launches Roaming Freedom Plan!.

That was Reliance's "Value Roaming" introduced by Mukesh Ambani, followed by TATA till date without any change, but scrapped by Anil Ambani due to his ARPU craze.
  21. Block Unwanted Calls

From the discussion so for what I've inferred that there are 2 possibilities. 1)Give the caller ringing tone. 2)Give the caller engaged tone. In both cases receiver's phone will log the call and will not activate the ring tone. In case 1, Caller will know that receiver is purposefully not picking up the call In case 2, Caller will assume receiver is engaged but after certain trials he might know receiver is not picking up purposefully Case 2 looks better than case 1. I would like to know which manufacturers have implemented case 1 and which case 2.
  22. Bangalore postpaid RIM 1800 22 8859 --> doesn't work 1800 425 8859 --> works My Thinking:: May be DOT might have asked everybody to move to 11 digit number, 10 digit number might be old numbers
  23. Fantastic move by TRAI..... Hope this will make consumer happy and operator customer-sensitive. We salute you TRAI.
  24. K822 - Expected Soon....

Here comes the competitor for much awaited Nokia 6265. Its in direct competition and matches feature by feature. Don't forget it has AGPS support which is not available in Nokia 6265. GPS support might be very handy for travellers in future. Hope Reliance would support it. Just before buying Nokia 6265 spare a thought on this lovable cute flip. I don't have any expected date in USA but I hope its not too far. If it hits US, India is not too far in this digital age. Just make urself ready to fall in love. http://www.kyocera-wireless.com/k822-phone/ For nokia 6265 fanatics just look before you leap. Its going to be a costly love.....
