Nokia 6330 does not support CDMA. It supports only WCDMA which is 3G of GSM and EDGE. As for as I know there are no dual mode handsets available with nokia. Motorola A840 is dual mode and its available in TATA. Just inserting RUIM should work with any CDMA operators(Garuda/TATA/Reliance). This phone supports 900/1800 GSM also. I'm not aware in which band GSM is operational in India. If Band matches then it should work for SIM insertion too.... Somewhere I've read that TATA have disbaled the GSM operation on this phone and they'll enable only if you go for international roaming. This can be tweaked and can be made to work in Indian GSM network.

Bangalore , Dec. 31 Airtel has launched the `background music' service. With this, users can set their favourite song/instrumental piece as background music during a call. It can also help the callers to disguise their location. The database includes over 5,000 song options under eight categories and instrumental music downloads with choices of tabla, violin and many more. The service also offers 10 emoticons. To activate this service, an Airtel customer needs to call 676. Customers can simultaneously set tunes for up to five special callers. When a customer intends to make a call with a background music, he/she needs to dial 676 followed by the 10 digit mobile number. You can also introduce emoticons/sounds during the call. First, mute the music and then press the corresponding number given in the chart. A monthly rental of Rs 30 is charged for this service, with each download at Rs 10, according to a release from the company. source :: http://www.thehindubusinessline.com/2007/0...10101601700.htm When can we expect in Reliance ? I'll make a try to clear all your doubts. There are 3 entities in case of RUIM enabled handset. 1. Mobile equipment <Mobile> 2. Mobile station <Your subscription/Your phone number> 3. User Identification <Your RUIM card > All three has to be tied for the phone to work in network. For the above 3 entities you've 3 IDs respectively 1. MEID - Mobile Equipment IDentity <will be present only in mobile and unique> 2. MSID - Mobile station IDentity <will be in RUIM if RUIM enabled handset else programmed in mobile> 3. UIMID - User Identification Module Identifier <will be present only in RUIM> To further clarify 1.ESN is older version of MEID. IMEI<International Mobile Equipment Identifier> is GSM term for MEID. 2.MIN is older version of MSID. IMSI<International Mobile Subscriber Identity> is GSM term for MSID. 3.SIM is GSM version of RUIM Hope I've not confused you.

Now Hindujas enter the fray... The Hinduja group has now jumped into the fray. It has announced its interest in buying a stake in mobile phone operator Hutchison Essar Ltd, but was unlikely to settle for anything less than 51 per cent. “We have expressed our intention to Hutchison and we are waiting for confirmation whether they want to sell the stake,” said Ashok Hinduja, executive chairman of Hinduja TMT Ltd. “We are not interested in anything less than 51 per cent as we would like to hold a controlling stake,” he said. source:: http://www.timesnow.tv/Sections/Sports/Hin...how/1050907.cms

The LG LSI 120 has been released sometime back in TATA. http://www.tataindicom.com/personal/wirele...ss.asp?site=446 I'm not finding any signs in Reliance. Are they sleeping now? Nowadays Reliance have become sleeping donkey in the FWP segment.
-
From the news I heard R-World in LSI 120 will be brew based. I would like to know whether its RUIM enabled or not? May be owners from TATA side can throw some light over it. Only thing which is missing in this handset is FM.

One more link on new DataOne Tariff. http://www.bsnl.co.in/service/dataone_tariff.htm

Dear Friends, Don't cry..... BSNL has not removed the Home 900 and Home 900 plus UL plans. Just they've not upgraded the speed on these plans and it'll continue to remain at 256kbps. This move is fantastic and its a nice trade-off between network clogging due to high speed internet and offering UL plans. Kudos to BSNL. Just look at the point 2 on the notes section:: http://www.bsnl.co.in/newsdetailed.php?news_id=352

Just look at the offer at a price of Rs.3499. unbelievable !!. Tata Rules......... http://www.tataindicom.com/personal/wirele...less_tariff.asp Unfortunate thing is its available only for Delhi, Gujarat, AP and Kolkatta We're really envious about you. You can register at the following site if you want the connection and phone. http://www.tataindicom.com/personal/wirele...lkycordless.asp

NEW YORK, JANUARY 3: The battle for control of India's fourth-largest mobile operator Hutch Essar may become even more high-profile with a prospective buyer from the US telecom space joining the list of potential buyers doing the rounds. So far, UK's Vodafone Group and India's Reliance Communications are the only two potential bidders to have made public their interest in acquiring Hutch Essar. However, Indian partner in the joint venture Essar Group and Malaysia's Maxis Communications are also reported to have made indicative offers for the 67 per cent stake held by the foreign partner Hong Kong-based Hutchison Telecom (HTIL). Meanwhile, there have been reports about Egypt's Orascom, Qatar Telecom and a consortium of private equity funds mulling their respective bids for Hutch Essar. Verizon Communications, which has a market capitalisation of more than 108 billion dollars on NYSE, is the latest name being churned out by rumour mills for the prized Indian firm. While a spokesperson of the US firm said it was the company's policy not to comment on 'this kind of speculation', industry sources said the move could be strategically important for Verizon as the US market was near a saturation level and the Indian market offers great growth opportunities. Incidentally, Verizon Communications offers wireless services in the US through Verizon Wireless, a joint venture with Vodafone, one of the interested parties for Hutch Essar. The Verizon spokesperson also declined to comment on queries related to whether a potential bid would be in partnership with Vodafone or could it go solo. source :: http://www.financialexpress.com/latest_ful...ntent_id=150679

Dear Friends, I use LG 6130. I normally use the applications which are of free of content charges. I've come across one application by name Help Dtails in the following path. MoreServices >> Tool Kit >> MyEmergency >> Help Dtails Whenever I try to access that particular application I get the following error. (100 out of 100 times..) "unable to process request. Please try again" I wanted to know what this application is there for and also wanted to know whether it works for other handset models.
-
Dear, The application which you're mentioning is "My Details" inside "MyEmergency". I'm really very much aware of use of this application. This application is working fantastic and no issues. What I'm talking is about the application "Help Dtails" inside "MyEmergency"
-
I don't understand why they've removed R-Surf when they're allowing browsing through WAP in 6265,6155 and 2865. This is absolute descrimination. We want justice. In what way we're lower(in the scale of loyalty..) than the users of those handsets
-
I don't have any tension. Its disgusting that some applications are there in R-World although they're not working for that specific handsets. It wouldn't have been a problem earlier since you're not charged for network usage. Just I'm trying to throw light on these type of traps where your money will be ****ed out although the application itself will not be working. For me its not charged but for others who are not DAPO or Membership plan it would have been charged without customer knowing the trap. My request to Reliance :: 1. Do complete overhaul of all applications available in R-World. 2. Do thorough checking for each application on each handset. 3. Remove reduntant applications (like "set language" in News Room and also in Tool Kit). 4. Clearly specify what is the use of each application in R-World web page. ( Customers cannot pay(network usage) you for to understand what each application is meant for...) Unless all the suggestions are taken in right spirit and actions initiated I don't see any hope of success for new 10p/10KB network usage.
-
Inbetween each trial I do the things which you've mentioned and it never worked
-
I'm from bangalore. Where to get the headset for this model?
-
I was in membership plan. So now free network usage charge. No worry about KB
-
Many more happy returns of the day...... Its fantastic community service. Hats off to you guys ....... Keep going....... Someday honorable supreme court will order reliance to share some of its revenue with Rimweb.in..... Day is not too far.......

How to track Network usage? http://rworld.relianceinfo.com/RWorld/html...rk_details.html One interesting observation here. Nokia 6275 is listed in WAP section.
-
Now they've made Headlines also in 'U' category. :'( Information now available in Reliance website. http://rworld.relianceinfo.com/RWorld/html...icing_home.html Anil is looting our money to buy Hutch.

Reliance Communication To Enter Gsm Services
kesav replied to abhay's topic in Reliance Communications
Hello hpnasik, I'm talking about deployment cost of EvDO for CDMA operator which is much less than WCDMA for GSM/GPRS/EDGE operator . Then think about HSDPA, you're talking about something which is far fetched financially. In any sense HSDPA is a very nascent technology compared to EvDO, which is world proven technology for 3G. EvDO handsets are much cheaper than WCDMA handsets(Don't even think of HSDPA handsets). Any operator who is interested in 3G would never even think of buying something in 1800 for such a huge amount that too at the time when 3G is rolled out nation-wide. Royalty in 3G is common for both since all the technologies from and above 3G is developed by Qualcomm. On the above lines I would trust that unconfirmed information that Reliance is not interested in 3G in the GSM side. -
Reliance Communication To Enter Gsm Services
kesav replied to abhay's topic in Reliance Communications
There's an interesting off-shoot developing on the recent move by Reliance to start GSM and cutting the frills of CDMA. Not a confirmed info but grapevine talk from reliance circle. Reliance is very much interested in taking CDMA further but in 3G. They want to keep the high end customers in CDMA EvDO network. EvDO would be far better than WCDMA in performance. This augurs well for them since the EvDO sets are very much prevalent and less costly than their WCDMA counterparts in the world. This gives them advantage in high end segment. They want to move their low end customers to their own GSM network. That's the main reason why Reliance has applied for 1800 and not 2100 at the time when everybody is thinking about 2100. Reliance is not interested in starting 3G operations in GSM for foreseeable future. GSM market also helps them very much in this aspect due to very high number of mobiles(low cost) in this segment and high competition.
