MTNL in Delhi is also not following this for now .... all sortza Wifi modem works , modem is private. In anycase authentication is mandatory at the server but not for wifi. If this is implemented, I think its just to be made sure that the wifi is protetcted enough.

Last time it was connected to the system, it worked at its best.

The costing is surely high but when regular broadband was launched, there were also pricey when compared to DUN connections over POTS. The cost of infrastructure setup has to be recovered and financial viability has to be green. The happy part is that its all happening in India :-)

Though I have the scanner but my new system does not have the parellel post so have not tested it. Last when I had a PP, It was just working great. If anyone needs, I can send the model no. The box is big so shipping will cost a fortune though!

All operators have an eye on India Market due to huge expansion possibility. IMHO India lacks the infrastructure specially in remote eareas and is not ready for the new technology.

Its all about costs. MNP needs equipments that are costly and operators keep changing statements and deadlines to see if the MNP guidelines gets diluted and they gets away with major investment. Now govt says to stop 3G implementation till survillance equipments are in place!! All what public sees and hears is not true. Govt and Liasioning agencies have a different story all to gather. Whats cooking at the back is anyones guess. Some times I feel does our govt even care of thier voters who bring them to power.

Even handsets that come are chinese but just to sell in India and that they do not fall under 'unbranded' category, many companies have given chinese handsets a name but when you see the chipset n firmware, they are all same. Example are brands like Maxx, Lemon, Pagaria, Gee Pee, Micromax, Lava, Videocon, Vox,Orion, Hi-Tech, Wyncom, G-five, iMedia, Boss, MVL, T-series etc. Checkinh licences for all these will be an issue as well as business gets affected.

its quite possible that the user database got corrupted. We many need to see some more issues like this. N thn we can raise this issue

Today I bought a Belkin Wireless G ADSL2+ modem router (f5d7634sa4a) in Delhi ...... The looks are good. The modem functions are also very good but the support is lacking. If you go to Belkin India website, there is no support option. No softwares etc. This modem does not come with a splitter and hence this is an issue in India. They should provide this. The purchase price was 2800/-

This is a fight between people who develop technology and peole who control the society. The outcome can be serious but hope is always alive. Even if BB hets banned, later they might share the code or get around will this mess.

Here in Patna, all BSNL claims about service goes for a toss. Just One rainy day and your broadband goes for a toss .... frequently there are cable cuts and there is no one to listne. Here the new plans will take time to implement due to infrastructure issue
