BSNL 3G Speed is being Limited to 2 Mbps?

Here in Bangalore , BSNL 3G is so pathetic. Its just hanging 2-3 mins after connecting. During the active connection time , speed is not going above 500kbps. Interesting thing is that , about 2-3 weeks back I was getting above 3.5Mbps speed with the same setup which I have now. Seems like BSNL going to give all their 3G customers to other private operators by withdrawing the unlimited plans and making network congestions .. -

yes. That's correct. I am not getting > 1 Mbps in Cochin city. This will be becuase of too many users.. All the speed test results which I have posted are from a small town , users will be very less compared to Cochin city. -

Nice speed mate. last week i disconnected wimax, i pay the bill 3689rs for 4months bill i thought they will reduce the deposit amount 2000rs in it. but they didnt. only December bill remaining. i asked the deposit amount they said it will take time, i ask shall i get after 1 month. they said they dont know it will take time. I need to wait 3 hours in CSC for disconnection. When taking connection it only takes 20min max. Any way getting deposit amount from Bsnl is a headache.

Correct !!! All the above issues are there with Fastel Modem. If you want to save money go for it. If you need good harware and trouble free operation, don't go with Fastel. -

Here's the story about my fastel modem 1) Bought the modem on Nov 25th. It was working for 1 week. 2) After 1 week , When I connect modem , getting message as "No Service" , "Not Found" , "Limited Service" etc even I am just 500 mts away from the BSNL tower. 3) Complained @ fastel number , they asked me to courier back the modem. I did the same. 4) After so many follow-ups I got the modem last week. This time the gain of the modem seems to be very poor. I wont get singnals when I am inside my room , but getting signals in balcony ; that too , just 2 points signal. 5) Since I am in-need of a connection and this fastel is not suiting any purpose , I thought like buying this EC 1762 of Huvawei. 6) This robust model of EC 1762 giving me good signal where the fastel was failing with "No Service" signal. The quality of the Fastel modem is very poor. They have built in very delicate plastic casing. Not sure how they are making them. Each of their pieces are different in nature seems. Anyway worst experience with Fastel !! -

This is the best speed for BSNL 3G in a small town @ Kerala .. Modem : Huvawei EC 1762 Bought from : http://unlockmdm.blogspot.com/ This modem is very robust. Has an external antenna port. The "Mobile Partner" s/w allows to make voice calls , SMS & MMS simultaneously. -

I use Fastel 7.2 Mbps USB modem. Bought from e-bay. Rs 2300/-. BB+ is so pathetic. Now I am using BSNL 3G & BSNL WiMax.. Both are super fine and super fast !!!! -

Here in Kerala , Unlimited Wimax BW is 512kbps to 2 Mbps. Are you sure that in your BSNL circle bandwidth is fixed to 512 ? I'm not sure as officials here don't know a dime about Bandwidth. I was just quoting what BSNL official website says. So maybe it's 512kbps to 2Mbps for unlimited plan too. Tell me one thing, are you paying Rs. 750+ Rs. 40 + Taxes for unlimited plan? This information may confirm that. Yes. I am paying Rs. 750 + 40 + Taxes.

CINR value 10-14 is very less per the BSNL folks. They suggest CINR should be greater than 18 for a stable connection. But I have notice that , download speed not everytime depend on CINR value. So many times I have got ~2Mbps speed with < 18 CINR. where we can see the base id in the modem diagnosis page ?
