any idea why upload speed is less in WiMax ?

Today there was some Fibre cut ( concerned JTO told this to me ) and BSNL WiMax was down for ~2 hrs. Now its up and running !!

Per the engineer who came to install, the outdoor CPE itself will work as Antenna & Modem. Internal unit just providing power to the external unit.

During heavy rain , CINR going below 20. But not below 17. OUtdoor CPE shows full signal though.

Now, with wifi also WiMax rocking !!! speedtest.net statistics : Getting only one IP from yesterday. Is this having a static IP ?

Though I reset to Factory settings , there was some special setting which was pointing to one airtel url / port. Disabled that setting and now wifi also working fine..

I just reset the ADSL+ Wifi Modem to Factory Settings. Aha !!! Wifi is working now. But speed is very less in Wifi .. Any idea why ? Is there any way to attain the same wimax speed ?

Getting good download speed. Upload speed not so good. Signal strength also not going below 20 dB's Some one help me to configure the ASDL+ wifi modem with this wimax conn.

Got the uname/passwd now. BSNL WimAx is Super !!!!! now CINR is quite stable 20-22. Not going below 19 for sure. speedtest.net statistics attached : Though I am able to open the modem diagnos page using the wifi router , I am not able to open any other internet pages. I feel that , I may need to do something with that wifi modem ( Its already setup with Airtel Broadband). Can any one help me ?

CINR is fluctating sometimes.. In a range of 12 to 22. Will this affect my net connection / speed ?

Today BSNL folks came and installed outdoor CPE. But need to create my userid/passwd from their Bangalore office. I may get those credentials hopefully by tomorrow. :-) A screen shot of the modem diagnosis page attached : Please let me know whether this values are ok or not. I just connected the RJ45 cable from the wimax modem to one LAN port of my Beetel 450TC1 ADSL2+ Wifi router. Voila... it worked as normal Wifi router and I am able access the wimax modem diagnosis page from my Laptop.. Now waiting to get the login credentials... will update..

I did'nt get the connection till today. They told that , since I have requested for outdoor CPE , this will take few days. I have Beetel 450TC1 ADSL+wifi modem. From some other forum I came to know that , this device will not support DHCP and will not work as a wifi router. Is this true ? ATHUL4R , which wifi modem are you using ? Any special settings required in the modem diagnostics page ? If yes , please provide the details. I will try with this Beetel 450TC1. Thanks a lot..

Arun, Thanks for the info. I have one Beetel Wifi Modem ( Which I got from Airtel Broad Band connection ). It has 4 LAN ports and 1 RJ port. How can I connect this to WiMax modem ?

That JTO was interested in seeing the signal strength lights only. He didn't took the modem diagnostic page at all. I am planning to go with outdoor CPE , as I am planning this conn for a backup. I have one ADSL wifi modem. Can I use that modem along with BSNL wimax for Wifi purpose ? Or do I need to buy one Wifi router ? How much one Wifi router costs ?

I am from Ernakulam. Applied for BSNL Wi Max last week. While applying I opt for indoor CPE. Today one JTO came home for checking the feasibility. He was measuring the feasibility by seeing the signal strength LED's on the CPE. He told that getting 3 "lights" is very good. I was getting on-off 1 , 2 & 3 lights. Just browsed some sites and speed looked ok. He suggested me to go for outdoor CPE. Not decided yet. What do u guys suggest ?
