I got a call from a WWE, that they are offering me a new postpaid RUIM card free with 200 local minutes free every month for 5 months. No rentals, no activations, no deposits, no bills for 5 months. If I exceed the 200 local minutes free usage, I will be charged 50ps for local and Rs 1.50 for STD calls. I refused them the offer. I do not know if it is connected to the 100 million celebrations.

I think you should read the above posts more minutely... 3540 does not support netconnect AFAIK...

There are a lot of problems activating GPRS, WAP etc on RGSM. CC sux big time. Keep complaining to CC and speak to their floor supervisors. Email everybody and then maybe you will be able to access GPRS. None of the other cellcos ask for IMEI number for accessing GPRS. RGSM is probably the only company which asks for this. After providing IMEI also, there is no access. I had suffered for my SE W660 and my Nokia N81 in a similar manner and I had to take up the issue very very strongly. And the jokers there at CC asked for my IMEI every time I called them. And I must have called them atleast 15 times over 20 days. The end result is that for both my handsets, I successfully enabled RGSM, but was unhappy with the frequent drops in data service (once every minute or so) I got frustrated with RGSM and removed the SIMS and took Vodafone SIMs and I am happy with their services. Now Voda is offering at Rs 98 per month, 2GB of data access on both my mobile as also my PC. It is indeed ironic that today when all other cellcos are providing a SIM which has all these settings come down automatically to your phone (which can even be a crap Chinese mobile) and moreover, all cellcos know that data is the next money spinner for them. Yet our great RGSM acts like a nincompoop and makes customers curse their own bad luck for opting RGSM. It is indeed a very very sorry state of affairs at RGSM. Probably they are still in the ages old RCDMA mindset and want to have a walled garden for RGSM also.

At Rs 3800 it appears costly than RCOM/TATA/MTS data cards which are available at Rs 2300 onwards. Except maybe for RUIM facility. and there is no brand name, it appears chinese or korean..Finally no mention of any warranty.... Correct me if wrong...

AFAIK, DAPO also offered the same facility 7+ years back and that was for individual customers also.... Correct me if wrong.... Maybe Tata-DoCoMo is offering something extra.

Seen an ad in todays newspapers about the Colors TV launch program and the slogan 100 cities launch in 100 days..... seems they are pretty serious this time.... Anyway lets wait and watch.....

If somebody has got good free usage in landline plans and that is unutilised,they can call CC from LLs. BTW, its 50p for 3 minutes and not per minute. BSNL LLs charge Re 1 per minute for calls to mobiles. So folks be careful before using your LLs.... Maybe LLs telcos will charge more for calls to CC of various cellcos because maybe Airtel, Voda, Idea etc may charge them more interconnect charges. Like what RCOm is doing charging Rs 2 per minute for all local calls to numbers staring with '1' like rly enquiry 139, airport enquiry 1402 etc... the 1860 is being charged at 50 ps per minute whereas the 1800 is fully toll free.

No one else will get a chance to download anything at all, then!!!!

@ kanagadeepan, On the contrary, I feel that RCOM is giving better offers now. It is only a coincidence that the A Team has joined the R Team. But at the micro level, it seems still a R Show all around. This is my opinion. You have mentioned only one instance of the reduction in validity as a result of the A Team's infiltration into the R Team. One swallow does not make a summer. I hope the proverb is worded right... Correct me if wrong.... Wait till the budget is announced and then you may have to take your words back or maybe I will eat humble pie....

I received SMS's sometime back about electronic cigarettes and since I am not a smoker, I deleted the SMS' after forwarding to my brother-in-law who is almost a chimney. But unfortunately, he also deleted the SMS. In case I get it again, I will post here.

True but there is no guarantee that a delay will ensure that things are launched properly. Hutch when it launched in Chennai was having severe problems for more than 2 years and now it is having very strong network. Similarly, RGSM also will improve by this year end and then people will say RGSM is better is even RCDMA. Just give them some time to settle down....

Does that imply that the subscriber additions are more than 13.7 mn users in january 2010? or does that figure include RCOM and TATA? If the latter, then why individual figures of RCOM and TATA alone are not mentioned? Something's not right here....
