  1. Full Talk Time Recharge?

I was told by the CC that the promo TT can be used for everything except for ISD calls and ISD SMS' and even while in roaming. This is for CDMA only. About GSM I will post my experience some time later. And yes the promo TT is valid only for 7 days after which it will lapse fully.
  2. Hi, Kamal!!! Welcome back. Its been quite some time. Good to see old friends come back....
  3. Happy New Year 2010

Happy New Year to one and all at RimWeb.
  4. Well it may be that some SMS' are getting sent more than once as happens in Airtel and RCOM here. No idea about other circles. All are birds of the same feather when it comes to their "systems" and cheating customers.... Enjoyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
  5. IMHO, I feel it is costly as the per minute cost comes to 50 ps. And for that why do anyone need to pay upfront 2010? Even BSNL is offering Rs 49 STV which makes all calls including roaming at 49 ps per minute. This is a ridiculous offer from TATA, they could have given something better - comparable to DoCoMo. The free SMS is valueless after RCOM's 1ps per SMS and similar other offers from the GSM gangsters.
  6. After Mnp What Is Your Move?

I don't think that MNP and maybe 3G will ever come to India. The GSM Gangsters and the new gangsters will ensure that this will never come to India. Let us dream in the meantime, of 10G atleast, maybe sometime in 2025.....
  7. Sim Card Registration Failed

@raccoon, RW means RimWeb and not what you thought. I should have been more clear when similar meaning abbreviations are used.
  8. Sim Card Registration Failed

@raccoon, Welcome back after a long hiatus!!! We all get the same error and the CC is clueless as usual. Nothing to worry about though. But getting that error whenever you boot up or when you change SIMs? I get that error when I try to download GPRS settings or some such services. And yes, before I sign off, as usual you will get better CC here at RW rather than with RCOM, nothing much has changed there at CC....
  9. RIMweb.in 6th Anniversary!

Happy 6th Birthday to RIMweb.in and congrats to all our fellow members who have made it possible.
  10. Trick To Get 100% Free Gifts From Ebay.

+1 to Ani & Sajokj And Ani, that was really a good example you gave....
  11. Voda, Chennai is offering 22,500 SMS local and National at Rs 61 per month. This works out to 750 per day, but you won't lose if you do not send any SMS for 1 day, you can use up the entire 22,500 on the 30th day also. Not sure about RCOM's SMS fundas. Plus no blackout days and also applicable while roaming. Whereas in Voda, you will still pay the normal roaming rates if you are on their own network and if by chance you are on other network while roaming, 3.45 is what you pay for a SMS. Not sure about RGSM's onnet and offnet SMS fundas, it might be the same. Anyway, a good move by Voda. Double the profit of RCOM. And yet retain its base. People would not mind paying more to retain their number and also RCDMA SMS is a pain in the you-know-where.
  12. @sachin, I remember that you were a die-hard fan of RCOM till end Nov.'09. And now with this SMS problem, you have become RCOMs critic. It happens with all - only when the brick falls on your head, you know the pain... Hope your problem gets sorted out fast...
  13. Aircel Excellent Recharges For Delhi

You have forgotten that the monthly rental one pays becomes zero because one can use the full 399 for all calls - local and std. So, the customer actually saves Rs 45 by being with RCOM...Further if you add the 75 pack, then you get more bang for your buck. Plus one gets 798 local and national SMS free in this SIMPLE399 FV plan. And plus the roaming benefits that only RCOM can offer... And Aircel network in the new circles may not be upto the mark as yet. No comments on your experience in Delhi/NCR with RCOM (in other topic)... Anyway, your point is also very valid that we should not compare post and pre..... And the Aircel Plan 999 is good if people want to use it only for all local calls (it works out to 20ps per minute)... And I agree with kanagadeepan that the validity should be more than 30 days...
  14. Credit Limit

I have all my postpaids paid from my CitiBank Credit card by direct debit using bill pay. And in case there is any wrong billing from RCOM, they adjust in the subsequent bills. I do not see any harm or danger in using this Bill pay so far. I have been using it for atleast 3 to 4 years for all my mobiles, telephones, insurance policies, property taxes, etc through CitiBank and I am very happy to use it. I have got good credit limits across all my RCOM connections and also on all my CitiBank Credit cards. I forgot to mention that in the new tariffs, the existing credit limits itself would be enough unless someone wants to rake up an ARPU of more than Rs 2000 per month. Using a combination of packs, one can easily use almost 10,000 minutes with just Rs 1,000 (hypothetical only, with R2R unltd free across India plan Rs 990 per month)
  15. Gave Up Reliance Communication For MTS

Is that a new year resolution or you are expecting MNP to kick in? If the latter, then don't dream, MNP will kick in only in 2011 or 2021 or 2031 and not before that. This time all the babus have ganged up with the private players and stopped it. Even 3G will take so much time - just wait and watch....
  16. For Voda Chennai, they are offering unltd local and national SMS at Rs 61 per month (22500 per month or 750 per day) But unusable while roaming... This is the competition for RCOM we were anticipating in another thread on this forum....
  17. If true, then its a very sorry state of affairs at RCOM....
  18. Sms Pack

    No problems for me with all my RCDMA and RGSM mobiles in sending and receiving SMSs and del reps. <img class="bbc_emoticon" alt="" src="http://www.rimweb.in/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/SI.gif"> '>http://www.rimweb.in/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/SI.gif"> <img class="bbc_emoticon" alt="" src="http://www.rimweb.in/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/SI.gif"> <img class="bbc_emoticon" alt="" src="http://www.rimweb.in/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif"><br>
  19. Mobile Internet Rates Slashed, Quota Increased!

No. Unfortunately, I had opted out of Itemised Billing last month in an effort to reduce my ARPU to around Rs 250!!!!
  20. Rimweb.in On Mobile

When you change the settings to lo-fi, all your devices get the same lo-fi views. On opera mini it is ok, but on laps and pcs, it is boring. In my opinion, even on Opera Mini it is boring view. In the earlier version, it was possible to post without lo-fi, why not get some work around for this version?
  21. Nokia India - Cheating Case

Any legal case in India is frustrating to say the least. You are right about the value of the goods. +1
  22. Sim Hacking

    :Riendo: :rofl_200:
  23. Please Vote For My Idea!

    Ditto
  24. Mobile Internet Rates Slashed, Quota Increased!

I got my latest bill dated 7 Dec 2009, wherein they have charged me Rs 25 for L1 plan rental and also charged me 50ps. Unable to view or download the bill from myservices.... will update ASAP.
