^^^ AFAIK, It is not that S40 matters, what matters is the hardware is not supported by Nokia for SMS/MMS transfer to memory card or computer for CDMA. BTW, S40 phones for GSM supports transfer of SMS/MMS to memory card/computer. Correct me if wrong.... Any Nokia CDMA phone 6235/6265/6275 or any model for that matter will not support transfer of SMS/MMS.

Their own nincompoopical CC and lately even CMO has ****ed up their own numbers and with mindless application of mind with regard to data and sms tariffs, all they will be left with, in a year or two will be the most miniscule numbers... Gsm is the worst of the lot.... They are only bent on providing cheap tariffs and still think that a mobile is only for talking and nothing else... Come MNP and there will be a mass exodus from rcom- this is inevitable and definite....

^^^ Like I said earlier, they must have been very busy with GSM, so CDMA takes a backseat. Gone are the days when they used to do things instantly. Now for term. calls, they take 15 days time and that too, you have to remind them so many times.

^^^ Hang on unlimited like the L4 plan you have opted for. RCOM CC are very busy with GSM - CDMA is like a step brother/sister for them now. No or low action will take place in CDMA.

Hope the Classic name addition will not render in Nokia, the RCOM Classic disadvantages. But honestly speaking, the 2730 looks very exciting and the pricing also looks very good. Hope the finish is not too plasticky for this price point. Will it have S60 or S40? If it is S60, then its a steal at this price point.

Wow!!!!!! Very interesting to note that Airtel is forcing its customers to migrate to prepaid. Seems they are facing some severe cash crunch!!! Or is it some other issue? When will RCOM get this !dea????

No its not possible. Either Number will change or roaming will be charged. In case you take plan 995, roaming will not be charged and you will be able to use like in your home circle, but for your friends in the roaming circle, your number will be std. Consider this also... The bottom line is, you cannot have the cake and eat it too....

^^^ AFAIK, the Chinese and the Koreans would have been the first ones with a WM dual SIM phone.... though not too sure about 3G enabled...

^^^ Hi Mr. M.S.Rao!!!! I have enabled it on all my lines but with mixed responses as far as the alerts are concerned. It is working fine with my CDMA prepaid mobiles, not with my postpaid CDMA mobiles and FWPs and does not work even with GSM prepaid. However in my prepaid CDMA mobiles, the alerts come in very late, which was the inherent problem even in the MCA (Rs 15 per month) facility in postpaid CDMA mobiles. My final feedback is that the MCA facility is not at all useful in RCOM - either CDMA or GSM... Please do not waste time trying out stupid services.

^^^ If you opt for itemised bill every month, it is Rs 25 per month and if you want it for any particular month at the WW, then it costs Rs 50 per month.

IMHO the first billing cycle should be advised immediately on signing up. Why cheat customers like this? Business ethics should be there. Or better still would be to give benefit to the customer in the 1st bill and include a note or warning to the effect. But who cares? All want to jack up their revenues and arpu's at any cost.

^^^ If RCOM gets a good price, why not sell off CDMA? In any case, spectrum can be always bought by greasing the babus and the mantris like they have done it so many times in the past. As for dats, already the COAI operators are getting ready to launch 3G data cards just like TATA and RCOM has done without voice and sms. Ofcourse the scarcity of spectrum and resultant network congestion will definitely affect the performance of the data cards. But then even RCOM data cards are not so good in speeds. They claim 3.1mbps but in my place at a demo, they could not even pass 1mbps speeds. Anyway, its a different matter altogether...

^^^ All are birds of the same feather, and with the domestic tariffs at such a low, operators have to make a killing somewhere else.

^^^ This must be in retaliation to RGSM's RC21 which offers r2r mobiles at 30ps, r2o at 60ps and r2std at 1 buck for 90 days. This seems to be the best offer by any operator at such a low price and to top it, they are giving full TT on 200, 300 & 500 recharges. Seems they want all CDMA customers to migrate to RGSM and hence they are neglecting CDMA totally. I feel 2 - 3 years down the line, RCOM will sell off CDMA like operators have done elsewhere in the world...

When our RCOM will do the same????? What about Voda, Aircel, BSNL/MTNL??? I hope they also follow the footsteps of the leader... All are birds of the same feather.....
