  1. Free Missed Call Alert On Reliance Cdma

^^^ Worked for me also in all my connections. xx for me also is 25...But the missed call alert in one of my FWPs stated that to get the details of the MCA, i have to send M or some such thing to 51234 to receive details of my missed calls. In all other connections, the MCA worked properly but the alerts came very late. Funnily, there is no message played out like 'the number you have called is not reachable or off'. It just keeps beeping endlessly and after 45 secs, the line is disconnected. For such calls, there is no MCA. Only when you get the 'off/not reachable' message, the MCA comes in but very late.
  2. ^^^ How will they reduce when the biggies have not come forward and moreover BSNL/MTNL have already opposed this move of TRAI to reduce the termination charges...
  3. Mts Lifetime Sim @ 49

^^^ The true colours seems to be showing already.... ha ha
  4. Free Missed Call Alert On Reliance Cdma

^^^ I presume it would be 90 xx 000 700 where xx is the number of your circle.
  5. Now, Download A Movie In 30 Minutes

^^^ Was that for FUP or the speeds???? just joking....
  6. Icici Imobile On Htc

Gsm jai ho!!! The so-called data superiority of cdma is only to make great fools of customers. Nothing works and operators like rcom only try and make customers cry for such services. I would strongly advise anyone wanting data services to avoid rcom gsm and cdma as they are most unreliable. Try other operators like airtel, voda, aircel or even bsnl... Rcom is only for pure voice....nothing else, not even sms.....
  7. Htc P3000 - Void Sticker

The phone manufacturer should be more specific in this case. The wordings should be void if removed rather than just void....
  8. Poor Outgoing Connectivity From Reliance GSM

If you enter into any argument with cc, which is unpalatable to them, then they can disconnect you. Try it out. They can disconnect and not just rcom, even airtel, voda, aircel cc can do that...and nowadays cc is always under tremendous pressure to talk to the next customer. I think they have some incentives for maximising interaction with number of subscribers.
  9. Poor Outgoing Connectivity From Reliance GSM

^^^ You try to argue with them and then see - sometimes they will disconnect....Or don't disconnect and see how long the other person continues...Check after every 5 or 10 minutes...dont speak anything......
  10. ^^^ Keep waiting as usual....maybe in 2010,2011,2012, or 2020.
  11. Mts Lifetime Sim @ 49

"Nayi, Naveli dulhan hai" "Asli Rang dikhayegi" Just wait sometime, they also will catch on with the industry. Right now they do not have many subscribers, so their systems are not overworked or under upgradation (should it not be updation?) Let them get some 10 million subscribers and the problems will start manifold times.
  12. Poor Outgoing Connectivity From Reliance GSM

^^^ Yes, even the CC can dis-connect the calls. Many times, they have done for me also.
  13. Mobile Internet Working / Not Working ?

@savramesh, There is no L1 plan for prepaid AFAIK. The new site seems to make many mistakes. @nshram, There is a charge also for upload of data. What you have referred to is only download of data. Usually, it may be only a fraction of the downloads, but with RCOM, one never knows. @tanveer, Even I have been charged for SMS, while I was in DAPO till 29 March 2009. I do not have the patience to fight it out with them nowadays. I was charged something about Rs 174 and in the credits side, I was given a discount of Rs 122 something. The remaining Rs 50 is for what, no idea. Maybe when I am in the mood to fight outwith them, I will also call up CC and blast them. Funnily the retention people told me that my plan change would take effect from the next billing cycle but it was changed the very next day from 30th March itself. As a result, I made many onnet R2R calls thinking it would be free under DAPO, but I was ripped off at Rs 1.50 p.m and my DAPO some 300 minutes also were lapsed. As for your query reg. MIP, under DAPO, NUC is not being charged at all. And why have they kept Opera Mini alone open for MIP? All other browsers, apps cannot be accessed using the L1 plan. And for people who do not have any MI plans, they will charge 10ps/10kb which is fairly reasonable, IMHO. I accessed the same pages on my Voda prepaid and also on my other RCOM mobile which does not have DAPO. I was charged almost 1.5 times what I was charged by RCOM. In the other RCOM mobile, I was charged only 5ps/10kb totally, whereas Voda charged me 10ps/10kb and Airtel prepaid charged me 30ps/20kb. This is why I had been saying that RCOM was the best of the lot in the other thread, speedwise and chargeswise. But what I am objecting to, is their double charging under either Plan 99/ Plan 199 wherein one is entitled for 20/100MB free usage. Here they charge this rental and also 5ps/10kb NUC.This is totally unfair. And the worst thing is the CC and the floor supervisors do not know what is MIP leave alone that OM is a browser. They always confuse it with NetConnect.
  14. Net Connect Charges In Bill

^^^ That is 6145 units of 10kb and not 6000kb and they charge 5ps/10kb so Rs 307 is correct.
  15. Gprs No Longer Free

@kshah, Indeed it is not difficult or impossible to change numbers. To hell with MNP - whether it is implemented or not. But, CF method will work only when people call you and you inform them about the number change and after that they have to edit and save your new number. What about the people who have your number but call you up maybe once a year or once in 2/3/4/x years? And most importantly, many people do not know how to add/edit and save the phone book numbers. People have become very lazy with the advent of the mobile phone, they do not seem to maintain telephone directories at all, like in the past. and shockingly many do not even bother to backup their phone books or are unaware how to do it. And phone manufacturers also are to blame because different brands have very different UI for PC Suite. The more easier life becomes with automation, the more complicated it becomes in reality.
  16. Mts Lifetime Sim @ 49

40589 is any STD code or russian number? 9150 999 999 seems to be the HL number.
  17. Mts Lifetime Sim @ 49

^^^ 6265/6275 are open handsets, thats why any RUIM will work in it. Can anybody else provide work-arounds for LG with MTS/TATA? All the best with your MTS connection. If all the others are capable of giving good services, why still remain with RCOM? Some other service provider can offer you better services but not tariffs. Maybe because RCOM is cheaper like it is for all of us including me. @ravi, thanks for the info on tower sharing.
  18. Gprs No Longer Free

^^ I feel once MNP kicks in,a lot of RCOM subscribers will jump the wall to the other side, unless RCOM takes immediate action to stem the SMS and Data rot with both CDMA and GSM.
  19. Gprs No Longer Free

^^^ This is exactly what RCOM has been doing for the last 6 months to 1 year. They are double charging for rental (99/199) and also NUC (5ps/10kb) This must rank as the only cellco in the world to cheat customers in this novel way.
  20. Mts Lifetime Sim @ 49

@savramesh, If you are getting only the same 25%signals in MTS as in RCDMA/RGSM, then I presume that MTS is using the same RCOM tower in your area. What this boils down to is the fact that you will get better signals in all your connections (RCDMA/RGSM/MTS) only when RCOM strengthens their tower in your area. Till then you will have to bear with their half hearted services....
  21. Fast Reply

^^^ and deepakjain, I am not referring to the default fast reply that is visible to all. What I am referring to is the automatic fast reply box which can be enabled by going to My Controls--> Options-->Posting Settings---> 'Open Fast Reply when available' This will create a fast reply box in all topics and which one can use for instant replies. @arun, If what ani has pointed out is correct, then why not disable quoting the previous posts, if possible?
  22. Mts Lifetime Sim @ 49

To be honest with MTS, I am really impressed with their launch activities. MTS has advertised very widely all across TN - posters, banners, name boards, bus-stand route boards, micro hoardings (hoardings have been banned by SC all across TN since quite some time and as a result our city has lost the tag of "city of hoardings") RCOM is nowhere near them. They launched their GSM services as if they were doing something illegal. Maybe they did not have the TDSAT judgement then.
  23. ^^^ Seen today in ToI, Chennai. But services available only for east India and some other places. No idea on speeds, tariffs etc. Try calling 1503 from a BSNL LL and enquire.
  24. Fast Reply

Good discovery, ani. I always use the fast reply option and thats why my posts do not have any emoticons also mostly. Further i have enabled the fast reply option so that in all topics, i can straightaway start my reply.
  25. Gprs No Longer Free

^^^ And in the 1st 3 plans, you also pay network usage charges 5p/10kb or 10p/10kb like in CDMA? RCOM is probably the only cellco to do double charging.
