  1. Tata Blackberry Excellent Plan

^^^ Terrific plan... Hope RCOM also brings out something similar.... Or they do not copy TATA?
  2. All robbers are the same - no difference in caste, colour or creed.... Atleast with RCOM, the CMO listens and takes some action. Post the action taken by Airtel so that everyone knows....
  3. Help!horrible Problem With Nokia 6265

^^^ Did you get it repaired at Nokia ASC or local repairwala? Try again with a local repairwala. I had similar problems with my 6265 and I had the slider strip replaced. It is alright now except that the sound on the earphone is about 20 - 30% lower. Sometimes I have to switch on the loudspeaker to converse. All sliders and flips across all brands have this slider strip problem. Always go for candy barphones only. In my case, both the display and the sound were gone, after replacing the strip, it got alright. I got it done at a local repairwala only, Nokia ASC told me it would take them about 20 days to 1 month and moreover, no guarantee that it would be done, so I backed out.
  4. Dual Cdma Sim Handsets

^^^ Then does it work with 2 Tata connections and is it always on? or we have to re-cycle the power to get the 2nd connection and similarly for the 1st connection?
  5. ^^^ Let him enjoy his sleep and dream of getting Rs 10,000 crores from MDA. He will not earn even a fraction of that sum in GSM. Why disturb his sleep and dreams, man?

This applies to both wireless mobile phones as well as wired phones. These new phones are using a combination of GSM and CDMA technology. Basically the new line-up is equipped to work as either GSM or CDMA phone as per the user's preference. The V80 is a dual SIM CDMA+GSM handset sporting a 1.85-inch 65K TFT color display. Another version of the phone is the V80i, with additional features like FM radio and speaker phone. The next in the line-up is a mid-range handset B700 dual SIM GSM+GSM handset featuring 2-megapixel camera, Bluetooth, GPRS, external memory slot and support for voice and video recording and playback. But how good they perform, only someone who has used Fly will be able to tell.
  7. AFAIK, the GSKs and paper vouchers etc are treated as a service and are charged service tax also, If so, then how can the same be treated as goods and subject to VAT also? This is real stupidity on AP side, they will lose the case in the SC.

  11. @kalpak, Thanks for your help. I have successfully restricted access on my wireless modem.
  12. ^^^ I am using BSNL's Type2 modem with wireless. Can you please provide the steps to restrict the access for only my devices? I use my desktop for wired and N81 & PSP for wireless access.
  13. ^^^ If the above is true (No IMEI for Chinese mobiles) thn this is a very serious issue and the law makers should definitely ban these mobiles/phones. What are they waiting for?
  14. Slightly OT, How does one find out whether the GSM network in any circle is EDGE or GPRS only? In particular, I want info on Chennai and TN circles. Voda is not EDGE enabled in Chennai, no idea about Airtel, Aircel and BSNL.
  15. OT, Copy of an email I received some time back, But nevertheless something interesting: Is India poor, who says? Ask Swiss banks With personal account deposit bank of $1500 billion in foreign reserve which have been misappropriated, an amount 13 times larger than the country's foreign debt, one needs to rethink if India is a poor country?. DISHONEST INDUSTRIALISTS, scandalous politicians and corrupt IAS, IRS, IPS officers have deposited in foreign banks in their illegal personal accounts a sum of about $ 1500 billion, which have been misappropriated by them. This amount is about 13 times larger than the country's foreign debt. With this amount 45 crore poor people can get Rs 1,00,000 each. This huge amount has been appropriated from the people of India by exploiting and betraying them. Once this huge amount of black money and property comes back to India , the entire foreign debt can be repaid in 24 hours. After paying the entire foreign debt, we will have surplus amount, almost 12 times larger than the foreign debt. If this surplus amount is invested in earning interest, the amount of interest will be more than the annual budget of the Central government. So even if all the taxes are abolished, then also the Central government will be able to maintain the country very comfortably. Some 80,000 people travel to Switzerland every year, of whom 25,000 travel very frequently. "Obviously, these people won't be tourists. They must be travelling there for some other reason," believes an official involved in tracking illegal money. And, clearly, he isn't referring to the commerce ministry bureaucrats who've been flitting in and out of Geneva ever since the World Trade Organisation (WTO) negotiations went into a tailspin! Just read the following details and note how these dishonest industrialists, scandalous politicians, corrupt officers, cricketers, film actors, illegal sex trade and protected wildlife operators, to name just a few, ****ed this country's wealth and prosperity. This may be the picture of deposits in Swiss banks only. What about other international banks? Black money in Swiss banks -- Swiss Banking Association report, 2006 details bank deposits in the territory of Switzerland by nationals of following countries: Top five India---- $1,456 billion Russia ---$ 470 billion UK -------$390 billion Ukraine - $100 billion China -----$ 96 billion Now do the maths - India with $1456 billion or $1.4 trillion has more money in Swiss banks than rest of the world combined. Public loot since 1947: Can we bring back our money? It is one of the biggest loots witnessed by mankind -- the loot of the Aam Aadmi (common man) since 1947, by his brethren occupying public office. It has been orchestrated by politicians, bureaucrats and some businessmen. The list is almost all-encompassing. No wonder, everyone in India loots with impunity and without any fear. What is even more depressing in that this ill-gotten wealth of ours has been stashed away abroad into secret bank accounts located in some of the world's best known tax havens. And to that extent the Indian economy has been stripped of its wealth. Ordinary Indians may not be exactly aware of how such secret accounts operate and what are the rules and regulations that go on to govern such tax havens. However, one may well be aware of 'Swiss bank accounts,' the shorthand for murky dealings, secrecy and of course pilferage from developing countries into rich developed ones. In fact, some finance experts and economists believe tax havens to be a conspiracy of the western world against the poor countries. By allowing the proliferation of tax havens in the twentieth century, the western world explicitly encourages the movement of scarce capital from the developing countries to the rich. In March 2005, the Tax Justice Network (TJN) published a research finding demonstrating that $11.5 trillion of personal wealth was held offshore by rich individuals across the globe. The findings estimated that a large proportion of this wealth was managed from some 70 tax havens. Further, augmenting these studies of TJN, Raymond Baker -- in his widely celebrated book titled 'Capitalism' s Achilles Heel: Dirty Money and How to Renew the Free Market System' -- estimates that at least $5 trillion have been shifted out of poorer countries to the West since the mid-1970. It is further estimated by experts that one per cent of the world's population holds more than 57 per cent of total global wealth, routing it invariably through these tax havens. How much of this is from India is anybody's guess. What is to be noted here is that most of the wealth of Indians parked in these tax havens is illegitimate money acquired through corrupt means. Naturally, the secrecy associated with the bank accounts in such places is central to the issue, not their low tax rates as the term 'tax havens' suggests. Remember Bofors and how India could not trace the ultimate beneficiary of those transactions because of the secrecy associated with these bank accounts? IS THERE ANY ONE WHO WOULD SAVE INDIA ? God... No No No, even he can't....... ....!! Mods/Admins: Please move to correct topic or delete this post if objectionable.
  16. ^^^ They need money to fight the next elections, after all. Poor people, hahahaha
  17. ^^^ I also feel that all the above extra TT offers may stop once they have to give full TT on other vouchers.... It is all a classic case of robbing Peter to pay Paul kind of scenario everywhere.....

  19. Reliance Communications Seeks $1 Billion Five-Year Bank Loan By Patricia Kuo Sept. 1 (Bloomberg) -- Reliance Communications Ltd., India's second-largest mobile-phone operator, is seeking to borrow $1 billion for general working capital, three people involved with the deal said. Lenders may require Reliance Communications to pay at least 2 percentage points above the London interbank offered rate for the five-year bank loan, said the people, who declined to be identified because the information isn't public. Gaurav Wahi, a spokesman for Reliance Communications, declined to comment on the report when contacted on his mobile phone today. Reliance Communications, controlled by billionaire Anil Ambani, is seeking new funds to expand as it builds a new nationwide phone network to compete with rival Bharti Airtel Ltd. for a bigger share of the world's second-biggest wireless market. Reliance Communications spent $1.6 billion in the quarter ended June and is ``on track'' to spend a total of $6 billion for the year ending March 31, the company said on July 31. Ambani said in April he may spend as much as $6.5 billion this year to boost coverage. The Mumbai-based company is paying interest at 0.54 percentage point above the Libor for a six-year $1 billion loan signed in August 2007, data compiled by Bloomberg show. Reliance Communications posted a 24 percent increase in profit for the three months ended June 30 to 15.1 billion rupees ($344 million) after adding less profitable customers in rural areas. Reliance Communications and Bharti failed in separate bids to merge with South Africa's MTN Group Ltd., forcing them to compete in India's villages and towns to bolster profit growth. Setback Ambani's global expansion plans suffered a setback after ending talks with MTN, Africa's largest wireless carrier, on July 18. Ambani, the world's sixth-richest man according to Forbes magazine, failed to resolve a dispute with elder brother Mukesh Ambani, whose Reliance Industries Ltd. claimed the first right of refusal in any stake sale by Reliance Communications. Reliance Communications, which mainly offers code division multiple access or CDMA services, had 50.8 million subscribers at the end of June. Bharti had 69.4 million customers while Vodafone Group Plc's local unit had 49.2 million, all of them on the global system for mobile communications or GSM platform. India overtook the U.S. this year to become the world's largest mobile-phone market after China, according to the nation's telecom regulator. The South Asian country had 287 million wireless subscribers at the end of June, or about one in four people in the nation of more than 1.1 billion. That compares with 41 percent in China, 84 percent in the U.S., and 122 percent in the U.K., according to Reliance Communications in May. India's mobile users will increase to 737 million by 2012, a 21 percent annual compounded growth from 2008, analysts Madhusudan Gupta and Nick Ingelbrecht at researcher Gartner Inc. said in a report dated July 2. Credit-default swaps on Reliance Communications were quoted at 450 basis points at 11:15 a.m. in Hong Kong, according to BNP Paribas SA's prices. That means it costs $450,000 a year to protect $10 million of its debt from default for five years. To contact the reporter for this story: Patricia Kuo in Hong Kong at pkuo2@bloomberg.net. 20. ^^^ Looks like what I said earlier may come true!!!!
  21. ^^^ Ask the mobile operator to strengthen the signals. Or install a patch antenna (it works for FWP/Ts, no idea about mobiles) or whatever it is called. Email to CMO for more solutions....
  22. Dual Sim Holder

^^^ I think you are in a different class altogether. You will have to carry around two mobiles. Unless ofcourse you ask them for some solution directly. Email to CMO in detail about your problem. Maybe they will help you out. If your billing across both / any mobiles is high, then give them a serious termination threat also. Say you are considering to migrate to GSM as that will provide some better solutions like dual SIM GSM mobiles unlike dual RUIM CDMA mobiles which are not available currently (i.e. good reliable handsets). This will make them work out some solutions for your class of customers. All the best to you....
  23. A Old Gift For New Members.

Gr8 1, Dr. Ali. Keep it up and coming.....
  24. Dual Sim Holder

^^^ Well he can use the R2R pack not only for call forwards to his other mobile but also to all other RCOM numbers in his circle. And at Rs 99 it is a steal. No other operator can match this, I am sure.
  25. Looking For A Cdma Set With Scheduler Feature

^^^ In Nokia, you can set your scheduler to repeat an event either annually, monthly, weekly, daily, hourly etc for as long as you like and the handset will automatically remind you of the event on the setted period. You need not have to reset it manually every hour, day, week, month or year or whatever. This is the feature what Raghavendra is asking in other brands for CDMA. In short, you need not have to reset a single event if you want it to recur every time it is over.
