  1. ^^^ Thanks a ton for both the versions.
  2. Kamal, I want CHANDA HE TU, MERA SURAJ HE TU. Thanks in advance....
  3. Classic 23 Fwp

I think 2258 was a good phone, anyway I have not used it. But I have seen it in AP recently. The OS is terribly slow and boring. But the Net Connect data cable and CD were good and the phone was installed as a modem without any hitch at all.
  4. Virgin's Vsleek Offer

The offer and the phone looks very good.... What is RCOM doing???
  5. Wow!!!! one more operator to choose from for GSM users. And that within a couple of months. What is RCOM doing???? Sleeping in GSM also?????
  6. The same voucher is available with Voda as well as RCOM (but RCOM charges 35 bucks for this) With this voucher, all local and national calls are charged at 1 buck. Check with Idea, if the local call charges remain at 50 ps or whether they become 1 buck? If former, then it is a great pack.
  7. Which Nokia Has Large Buttons / Text Font Size ?

Nokia introduces the 1508, a entry-level CDMA mobile phone. The phone is a basic mobile phone that comes with FM tuner and a color dislay. It has also a 2.5mm headset jack and micro USB connection. Check and See if the above is available in India. Courtesy: http://www.itechnews.net/2008/06/12/nokia-...vel-cdma-phone/
  8. Future R-connect

As long as 3G is not yet available in India, EVDO by private players looks a distant possibility. BSNL/MTNL have been given the go-ahead by GoI and this is very discriminatory. But then, this is INDIA. Anything is possible here.
  9. Nokia Handset With 3 Way Conference

All your requirements will be met by LG 3000, 3100, 3500 etc they have all the features you asked for and also you will save almost 3.5k (5k minus cost of LG) if you go for LG. Nokia's ASC is rotten - you will be asked to leave your handset with them for about 20 to 30 days for the smallest problem also. Unless of course you are very well connected with RCOM, my sincere advice would be to not go in for Nokia. Anyway the decision is yours.
  10. ^^^ Also this product is meant for export markets. Maybe it will not sell in urban India and as Honest says, it may sell in rural India. This may be good for people who do not read or see, the rural folks may like this product even if it is marginally costly to them. No doubt, amit jains argument also is valid - for 555 you get a full featured mobile phone. Anyway the customer is the better judge.
  11. Reliance Mobile - Most Trusted Brand

All or rather most of us here would not agree with the rating given to RCOM for the simple reason that we have suffered a lot in the last 5 and half years. Still, most of us have remained with RCOM although we know all the faults of RCOM. Raccoon, the antonyms are just perfect!!!!
  12. Which Nokia Has Large Buttons / Text Font Size ?

Welcome back to the forum, SexyGurl after a long hiatus. Are you only looking for RCOM? Why dont you try GSM - I mean there is a much, much wider choice and in any case, by the year-end, RCOM also will come out with GSM. CDMA is dead now with no good handsets or support from the major handset makers like Nokia, SE (in any case they never ever made any CDMA, AFAIK) LG, Samsung, Motorola etc are now deserting CDMA. I am myself planning to switch over to GSM - the handsets are far superior, classy and priced also lower, the tariffs are more or less the same as RCOM. Only thing which is holding me back currently is the fairly decent data speeds on RCOM. Anyway the decision is yours.
  13. Seems to be yet another LG in the making with new models being introduced with only slight improvement in form/features/price etc etc.
  14. Classic 23 Fwp

AFAIK, even Classic 2258 is data enabled and comes with a data cable and CD. Correct me if I am wrong....
  15. Zippy iPhone could be all yours by year-end 11 Jun, 2008, 0308 hrs IST, ET Bureau NEW DELHI: This latest 'Job' from the Apple stable is coming straight to India. The new cheaper version of the company's iconic iPhone, launched in the US on Monday, will be on offer to Bharti Airtel and Vodafone customers by the year-end. Within hours of Apple CEO Steve Jobs launching the new 3G version of the iPhone, the two leading Indian operators said they are bringing it to India, but declined to reveal the retail price tag. In the US, the phone will be available in two variants — 8 GB and 16 GB — and will be priced at $199 and $299, respectively, almost half the price of its earlier version. Just over a month ago, both Vodafone and Bharti had tied up with Apple to bring the earlier version of iPhone to India. The new iPhone 3G combines all the revolutionary features of the earlier version with 3G networking that is twice as fast as the first generation iPhone. Now, the hitch is that 3G services are yet to take off in India, thanks to legal and regulatory hurdles. Besides, India's defence department is yet to vacate 3G frequencies for commercial telephony. The new iPhone also features built-in GPS for expanded location-based mobile services and iPhone 2.0 software, which supports Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync, besides hundreds of third-party applications. "We are delighted with the opportunity to bring the innovative iPhone 3G to India," said Bharti Airtel president and CEO Manoj Kohli. In the UK, the global CMO of Vodafone Group Frank H Rovekamp announced the telco's partnership with Apple. "We are very excited to bring iPhone 3G to many of our customers across Europe and emerging markets this summer," Mr Rovekamp said. The move to partner with Airtel and Vodafone marks a shift in Apple's global strategy of 'one-country-one operator'. But, with India emerging as the fastest growing cellular market, analysts say that Apple would want to tie up with all leading operators to maximise growth and revenues. Airtel and Vodafone have a combined subscriber base of around 115 million. In the UK, Apple has said that the 8-GB handset will cost 99 pounds ($194), but subscribers will have to have a monthly tariff of 30 or 35 pounds to avail this offer. But, for those customers whose monthly bills are between 45 and 75 pounds, the handset will be given free. Globally, Apple earns revenue from sale of device and through the monthly share from operators' revenues. While the iPhone is being subsidised by operators wherever it has been launched, Apple may not follow this policy in India. "We are thrilled to be working with Bharti Airtel, India's leading integrated telecom company, to bring iPhone 3G to millions of mobile customers in India," Apple's chief operating officer Tim Cook said. "We can't wait to get this revolutionary product in the hands of even more people around the world." The Vodafone group has also said that its customers across the globe, including India, will soon be able to pre-register either online or through the telco's retail outlets to place orders for the iPhone. On the other hand, Airtel customers, who wish to receive additional details of this iconic product, can send an SMS with keyword 'iPhone' to 54321 (toll-free number). The earlier version of the iPhone was available in the grey market in India for about a year now. Industry estimates peg the number of such devices in India at a whopping 5-6 lakhs. Dealers in Mumbai and Delhi started selling it soon after it was launched in the US last year
  16. Pakistan beats India at offering lower tariffs TT Bureau | | 09 Jun 2008 While India hails to be amongst the world’s lowest telecom tariffs, with operators offering increasingly better mobile services, it nonetheless stands at the hind end of Pakistani mobile services, particularly in terms of international (ISD) calls. The rates of international calls made from India and Pakistan to countries like United States of America (USA), UK, Canada, Germany and Hong Kong reflects an acute difference of how Pakistani mobile services are far superior to the Indian counter part. Telecom operators in Pakistan offer ISD calls at rates as low as Rs 1-1.99 per minute while Indian mobile subscribers still pay Rs 5-6 per minute to call the above mentioned countries. Furthermore, with the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) reducing the Mobile Termination Rates (MTR) by about 30 percent from June 1, telecom services are expected to become more affordable. Currently, Pakistan’s tele density stands at 56.7 percent, which is more than double of India’s tele density. Mobilink, Ufone, Telenor, Warid (Singtel) and Zong (China Mobile) are the main service providers in Pakistan.
  17. ^^^ Great Site. Thanks. Its a WOW!!!!!!! phone or should we call it WOW!!!!!!! Iphone?

  19. RCom-MTN proposed combined entity may look at London listing 10 Jun, 2008, 1708 hrs IST, PTI NEW DELHI: Anil Ambani's Reliance Communications may opt for a secondary listing in London of the new entity after the planned takeover of the South African telecom firm MTN to increase liquidity of shares in the global market. At present, Reliance is in exclusive talks with MTN with respect to a potential combination of their businesses. The exclusivity talks period of 45 days started on May 26. The due diligence is currently in the final stages and is likely to be concluded anytime. Industry sources said MTN top brass including Azmi Mikati, the chief executive of the investment unit that is MTN's second-largest shareholder and Phuthuma Nhelko, the chief executive of MTN are positively inclined to have LSE listing of the merged entity. However, the combined entity would continue to be listed in Johannesburg through MTN and in Mumbai through Reliance. Sources said currently both the companies are working out the swap ratio and it is understood that Ambani wants to exchange his 66 per cent stake in Reliance Communications under a mechanism yet to be agreed for a 34.9 per cent stake in MTN. The broad contours of the final agreement between them regarding share swap, modalities are likely to be finalised in the next 10 days, said industry sources. MTN's talks with RCom started after Bharti Airtel pulled out of negotiations with MTN. Although the value of that MTN stake has yet to be agreed, it could constitute one of the biggest investments by an Indian company overseas, alongside Tata Steel's about USD 12 billion takeover of Corus last year.
  20. Soon customers will be able to purchase iPhone 3G at Airtel Relationship Centers. Details of pricing and availability will be announced at a later date. iPhone 3G combines all the features of iPhone with 3G networking, which is said to be two times faster than the first generation iPhone. It has built-in GPS for expanded location based mobile services, a joint press statement said. It also has iPhone 2.0 software, which includes support for Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync and runs hundreds of third party applications already built with the recently released iPhone SDK. "We are delighted with the opportunity to bring the innovative iPhone 3G to India," said Bharti Airtel President and CEO Manoj Kohli. "We are thrilled to be working with Bharti Airtel, India's leading integrated telecom company, to bring iPhone 3G to millions of mobile customers in India," said Apple's COO Tim Cook. "We can't wait to get this revolutionary product in the hands of even more people around the world."
  21. Now Bsnl Is The Cheapest

If ADA has to be here to take decision, I doubt ADA's caliber for running communication company. I think ON Broadband he can do video conference' Probably you and me (as also the rest of RW members) can do the Video Conference, but not ADA ha ha!!!
  22. Now Bsnl Is The Cheapest

RCOM will react only after MTN deal is through or falls flat on its face. Or maybe after ADA returns from SA or wherever he has gone.

  24. Want To Use Htc P3050 On Reliance

^^^ HTC 6800 does support Wifi, you may contact SadikShaikh on this forum for more details.
  25. ^^^ COAI's stand is very bad for the Indian subscribers of GSM services. It proves that the radiation levels are indeed high in GSM networks/handsets and the COAI is playing with the lives of Indian subscribers. COAI only wants faster network roll-outs and more customers - who cares for their lives anyway!!! Hope TRAI, DOT and TEC take some real stern action, even if it proves costly for the COAI members to implement it.
